!!CORRECTION!! the neighbor eating an apple from the fridge actually is in alpha 1, i just forgot about it. so yeah, my bad original comment: was originally gonna put this in the video, but ill just put it here. overall, here's the only suggestions i have for this game add closing/pushing door animations (since the only ones he has are the opening ones) add back the milk add misc items such as apples, tomatoes, bread, plates, trash can lids, water bottles, mugs, trash items, food etc add phones add the radio add pre alpha ambience add animations for opening wardrobes in hunt mode (in hunt mode he just opens the wardrobes by walking into them with no animation, but he has one if he's in attack) add holstering items add sounds for opening/closing wardrobes most of these are really unimportant and minor details but id still like to see them in the game just to make it feel a bit more full. to me it feels more like you're breaking into a random guys house if you see trash outside and food in the kitchen rather than all those places being basically empty and clean, as opposed to the kitchen in the pre alpha. its a bit messy and it feels more realistic, like you really are in some strangers house.
I think what makes earlier hello neighbor builds and alternate reality have such a uniquely eerie feel, is obviously partially from a more realistic style, but also the lighting. You'll notice that in the full game the lighting is bright and allows you to see every angle and corner with no problem. But in the alphas it's much harsher with super bright lights and super dark shadows everywhere. Honestly, I feel like this works as a nice mood setter for the gameplay. Something I always appreciated in old Hello Neighbor is how it all kinda feels like a nightmarish fever dream, like something you'd have as a young kid sick at home who have fears of strangers. The lighting really helps this vibe to be honest. Just an observation.
There’s a mod for the full game called “The Neighbor’s Comeback” and it’s Alpha 1 but with all the floors, based off the scrapped floorplans. There’s also a fangame called Hello Neighbor: Hidden Spirits. It’s in progress but it looks really good. It has a custom house and an arcade mode with other houses.
Hidden spirits rn is honestly kinda bad no hate. Might just be me but it feels like there's no direction in the puzzle design and it's really unoptimized unlike this fangame. I preferred the original idea of adding onto alpha 1.5 and the whole mannequin story
@@BonnieFan69I recommend that you take a look at the gameplay of the Hello Neighbor mod, "trapped in the dark" because it is crazy, the mod its complete
Oh yeah, I saw that first one! Probably a bit too lofty and stuff, but it's nice to see the scrapped concepts being fully realized! I didn't know that Hidden Spirits one tho... Might check it out at some point. I like the idea of multiple maps, kinda like one a them survival games. In fact, I feel like Hello Neighbor would benefit from this sorta random variety. They could have multiple puzzles designed, and each run would pick some a those for you to solve in a medium-sized house. In a way, every full run would be different!
I've seen some people play The Neighbor's Comeback, and it was REALLY well made! It has amazing graphics and amazing details, new items and new mechanics, new puzzles, the old art style and as you were told, it has the Alpha 1 house but with all floors being accessible. It also has nightmares like act 1-2 from the full release, as well as new cutscenes. The mod is basically if Tiny Build kept the original concept and gave what the community wanted, please try it! :D
Honestly, if they kept the style from pre-alpha, the game would be better and scarier instead of this alpha 4 style, making the game less scary and not fun at all.

@@CAPTAiNC the only reason that happened is because tinybuild were trying to sell their game to audiences, and relying on youtubers and story clues through every alpha was how they achieved that. the only thing fangame/mod developers care about is making their game good and fun, as opposed to a company trying to sell a product.
HNAR has the best puzzles I've seen in any Hello Neighbor fan-game. When you get an item you immediately know where and how to use it, unlike Act 3 of the original game. And the game guides in a subtle way without you getting lost nor tellimg you exactly what to do.

Some of the rooms in the act 2 house are inaccessible like a locked door that I never opened near the train tracks or the entrances of what would be the grave room in the original Alpha 1 house. There are some parts of the Act 2 house that would have rooms on the top but there just aren’t and are instead just black walls preventing you from getting in. Fun Fact: I got into that room by having the neighbor chase me, lose him by hiding in the closet near the second floor and he just happened to break down the door guarding the basement key and I didn’t know you had to use the hammer on the planks on the roof until later And the platforming, honestly, I just think the game would've been better with no platforming or the box stacking from the basement you get out of.
alpha 1 is probably my most favorite and nostalgic version of the game, compared to how the game is now i like how alpha 1 was, the amount of theories that surrounded it and how the whole asethic that revolved around it was amazing.
Forrt here, I'm a dev for hn1ar and hn2ar, this video is amazing, one detail people don't realize is how complex the ai actually is For example, in hunt mode he has three possible things he can do 1: look at basement door 2:check random hunt spot And three, the most advanced, looking in the rooms the player has visited the most and also place a trap in them every now and then Anyway thats all I will share for now
This makes me feel young again. Probably because that the latest hello neighbor games that were officially released were just not even scary anymore. But this... This exceeded my expectations.
thank you so much for covering this, I am always excited to see the hello neighbor community out do the devs, if only the community wasn’t so small and we could get some people that code and artists that have been doing it for a while that are also passionate about the old hello neighbor builds like us, we could really come together and make something special

youve really stepped up the work, attention and effort put into your analysis type videos and it really shows man keep up the great work, love watching your vids so intresting and entertaining :)
Also i think they made the neighbor a little too much of a threat. You don’t want him to barely be a threat like in the final game but you don’t want him to be a full on restart the act like in this game
They could blend the proximity and neighbour’s mode by having an extra instrument or two play when he’s nearby Like how when you hop on Yoshi in Mario games the music changes a bit but still the same melody and such
Hmm, I think that _everything_ being reset upon getting caught might be a bit overkill. Maybe most things reset, like doors that were left open, broken windows, broken cameras and disabled traps, entrances to the house, and all your progress on the basement door. However, any items you got from puzzles, and any item you had on your hands really, gets shuffled around the house. Small things, like keys and stuff, could be hidden inside random drawers. Big things like furniture and boxes (as well as any of those that's out of place) would reset. Medium sized things, like the toy rifle and such, maybe they could just be put in either random spots around the house, or hidden in wardrobes.

add back the milk
add misc items such as apples, tomatoes, bread, plates, trash can lids, water bottles, mugs, trash items, food etc
add phones
add the radio
add pre alpha ambience
add animations for opening wardrobes in hunt mode (in hunt mode he just opens the wardrobes by walking into them with no animation, but he has one if he's in attack)

8:33 came out of left field however it was welcome 😭
The game resetting is a better solution to preventing the lose of key items than literally nothing.
DAWG I’ve been waiting for another hello neighbor vid my man delivered
I like to imagine an alternative alternate universe wuere the hello neighbor we got is the fan version wed be watching now. And all the comments would be about how silly and fun the lore was.
UR SPEEDRUN WAS SO FUNNY
This is an awesome game, but I don’t think this is truly a “What if the game stayed as its original concept.” I think Nikita is the only one that could perfect the idea
14:54 When I heard this for the first time, i was on the edge of my seat. Its so goddamn erie.
nah bro this is FIREE and as if it wasnt already amazing, the game is not a mod and is totally free like every hello neighbor fan needs to do this completely different game
Dude just imagine if this was the real game
Yay another fire vid from this underrated UA-camr :)
Did you know if the neighbor knows your in a closet or bed you can juke him if your quick enough
God the alphas was actuly scary and had a spooky atmosphere but all of that was just removed in the main game. Like even the chase music the neighbour dosent feel like a threat just a annoyance
very well made video, new sub, really enjoyed it
Me who just finished the first video I am so happy I watched this today
Ok this is epic
Hello on my Neighbor till I go into an Alternative Reality
stunning video love :D !!!
13:55 Now, this is immersion.
bro can't stop pumping out heat 🔥
This is awesome!
Somebody called timtim beat act two in around 20 minutes without speedrunning it 💀
Cool video
13:53 hello neighbor if it was written by vivziepop
Accurate 😭🙏🏻
Great Video!
Technically alarms do work in the final game. Also I don’t remember but I think if you activate a phone and put it in his house he comes for that too I don’t remember. But I’m that breaking windows and alarms work in the final gane
you should Play the alpha days
amazing.
5:49 what happend here?
Sorry I’m saying a lot I just have a lot of issues with the hate in the actual game and the love for the older ones
4:50 is so real and true
2:58 okay im sold
8:33 ok that’s just crazy
Ranking every build of HN1 (DevGAMM-Full Game) (I will not include early alpha 1 and early alpha 2 since it's minor differences)
14th: Alpha 4 (Yeah this was too much like Alpha 3)
13th: Beta 2 (The one we all forgot existed, I don't even know what was changed)
12th: Alpha 3.5 (Not a lot of people know this one, it's basically alpha 3 but with the time change)
11th: Alpha 3 (The reason I'm putting it this low on the list is because it's so DARK.)
10th: Beta 1 (It's a big bug fix of alpha 4 and an added intro, it's giving the alpha 2 vibe)
9th: Full Game (Honestly I think it's a little decent, only if it was giving the old art sty- OH WAIT THIS IS WHAT THIS MOD IS ABOUT)
8th: Early Prototype (Really nothing to say here besides TALL LEGS)
7th: Beta 3 (Honestly I think this build is pretty good)
6th: DevGAMM (Alright this is the idea that sparked it all, and we also now have the HQ animation, although it looks better textured)
5th: Prototype (This is amazing, I love the running sound the neighbor makes before the chase music plays)
4th: Pre-Alpha (Earliest public build of HN, I think having a code is a nice idea)
3rd: Alpha 2 (I love this concept of going to a house then the neighbor takes over your house)
2nd: Alpha 1 (Old art style wins, love how this plays out)
1st: Alpha 1.5 (I believe this is the best version of hello neighbor, having the old art style in alpha 2, and also the basement chase is phenomenal, 10/10)
I think Trash Can Lids are gone cuz they so consistently launched the player in the real game
FINALLY IVE BEEN WAITING
The only thing ill say about hello neighbor alternate reality i didnt like to much is the fact that it does feel a bit underwhelming end wise since i thought there might be an act 3, obviously i didnt want THE act 3 but maybe A act 3 yknow? Or at least somehing ij tge basement, it just felt a little unfulfilling in terms of the ending, otherwise this game was great! disappointed HNAR wont be getting an ACTUAL sequal but oveall i really enjoyed playing it
AWESOME NEW VIDEO
Please make a video on hello neighbor alpha 1 extended
Let me out of the basement
finally its out.
NateEMG mention ! ! ! ! ! !
13:55 hello neighbor more like edgy neighbor xd
I love HN:AR
This is lit!
Whoa!
Good vid
The first version (not alpha 1) is basically nothing tbh
HELP! I CAN'T ECSAPE THE BASEMENT BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE!
What's about secret neighbor lost builds?
Maybe hello neighbor was softened up because mostly kids played it the horror felt so good in earlier alphas. Prototype graphics and pre alpha to alpha 1 graphics are so good fits with the theme so well original game is just so cartoony and has very stupid and ugly artstyle compared to those alphas
