    I never thought about using OSB board to turn a bowl with. The bowl really looks good. I am glad to see are protecting your lungs.

      I had the same thought. I really didn't think OSB could be this elevated.

    That is badass looking. I'd probably do a walnut bottom in addition to the top, and let the OSB be the walls. Way cooler than I expected it to turn out! 👍

      @kurtfattig9370 6 років тому +2

      That was my thought exactly - the OSB looks pretty neat for the sides - and you almost have no idea what it is - but the bottom of the bowl gives it away. I would have never guessed it would have looked so good. Mr. Kyle Toth amazes just about every time - so creative and talented.

    You can cut strips and form segmented doughnuts then glue in a stack. It will save you lots of work when hollowing and a lot of sawdust to remove from the shop.

    OMG, that is so beautiful! Very impressed. I thought OSB would splinter all over the place. What a lot of work and so much wood for one bowl. It looks fantastic! So interesting to see how things are made. Thank you for this treat! You do superb work!!

    I swear I've watched this video 3 or 4 times now. We had a bunch of scrap OSB at work and I snagged all of to try this out at home. I have some purple heart and Sapele scrap, so I'm not sure which I will make the rim out of yet, but I've got the bug and need to get it out of the system now.

    I like the accent on the top. It makes it distinctive. I know Drew from Ox in the Shop turned one at the UA-cam Woodworker event in Skiatook, OK last year. He just did it 100% OSB. The accent of real wood gives it a whole different look. He said it was nasty to turn.

    So you CAN make a silk purse out of a sow's ear! I mean, I greatly dislike chipboard, but you've made a lovely bowl out of it.

    Visually pleasing (and not unexpectedly so), but OSB is the next to last material I would consider for a woodturning material and the last thing I would consider for ANY construction project. Obviously, I abhor the stuff-for a variety of reasons.
