When we look at something beautiful like this do we really think how it is made well we got to see this one and it's really awesome
By the way, instead of messing with rubber bands, there are adjustable clamps that can press objects together at a preset angle... just a tip.
I've tried it with clamps but it's hard to do because of the sharp angle
Not only one has to have the skills to build such complicated designs,but also patience for completion!

This has to be the finest piece I have seen you make.
I have mentioned before how you take different woods, cut them , put them together, re cut and reassemble, is reminiscent of a blade smith making damascus steel. Absolutely stunning. (Chefs Kiss) The 3D effect is mesmerising. Sir you are a master of your craft.

very nice work! that turned out very nice
two tips: to reduce the vibration in your steady rest, sandwich a piece of sheet metal between the layers of MDF. but be sure to make it one ring that is the same size and not a ring out of two pieces. that steady rest is very clever...will have to make one myself for my wood lathe too
and then second, use some double sided tape for attaching your top caps to the work piece at the tail stock. that will keep the work from drifting under the end cap and running out of round

I don't know which is more impressive. Your ability to cut and assemble parts into the correct configuration, your wood turning ability, or the excellent end results. Of course, without the first two steps there wouldn't be such excellent results.
A true master of your craft ... yet again the concept and amount of work required just to prepare the basic form is simply incredible ... then the turning begins and it gets better and better ... the lid alone is a work of art ... just stunning 👍
