That was quick! Here's a link to the All New Atlas Robot from Boston Dyanics. 🤖 ua-cam.com/video/29ECwExc-_M/v-deo.htmlsi=FWfMN5_tFVrUjlVd
dyanics
Policing the citizens has always been the goal. This should never happen.
I@@HueMongussDmy prediction, if they want the money, is a replacement for the now WAAAAAAY overpriced, $20 an hour fast food worker. Instead of 15 guys making $10 an hour, for three shifts, you'll have a robot repair guy making 110k a year, fixing the four robots at ten restaurants, replacing 400 plus employees.
Robots retiring in 11 years… Here I am planning to work next 50 years of my life before even thinking about retiring!! They really are efficient!!
robot can do 50 years of work in 11
Can you imagine you need 50 years of work to retire and the robot can accomplish that amount in 11 years with the same results.
This video is not telling the whole truth. They're not retiring Atlas. They're just retiring that version of Atlas to move on to a production model. They just revealed it today. It's a more streamlined humanoid design, also called Atlas.
U probably don't have to
They might retire you fully soon :)
They have just unveiled the new Atlas..
I think i prefer the old one.
It's creepy bro
The New atlas just looks like a weird skinny copy of Tesla robots
I still prefer the HD Atlas It look badass and its looks straight out of sci-fi movies.
Feels like they switch for a much lighter model for safety purpose. Can't imagine working besides a 300lbs heavy Atlas, dangerous if it accidentally hits you.
@@techgameanimemuzdiy9050 Not just lighter. Much more flexible with more joints. Just gotta see how it compares with the HD Atlas in terms of acrobatics though. But I'd assume it's not gotten worse
Boston Dynamics will be creating the Terminator robots now.
Explore the caves and canyons of Mars.
Project name: Skynet
👀 Exactly along the lines of what I was thinking. We have not seen the last of this line….the next version will soon follow
Yes please
@@degenplanet They just revealed the new Atlas an hour ago
Atlas belongs to the species Robotum Neanterthalensis.
He will now be replaced by Robotum Sapiens.
My Prediction: Within 6 months, Boston Dynamics shows off their new (all-electric) humanoid robot. Built to compete with Tesla, Figure, Agility, etc.
possible since Hyundai has bought Boston Dynamics, and Electric Vehicles are on decline. so possible it would move its EV resources to BD
It is going to be weeks, if not days, but, yeah.
BD CEO denied any interest in going all electric. He said hydraulics provide lighter weight and they spent decades working on the technology to be high precision to shift to all electric. So at least he did talk about going all electric at one time who knows.
@@netgeek3010 I also think that they will stay hydraulic, just a better, lighter model. No point in having batteries on a soldier that can burn out or explode in the middle of an invasion in a foreign country war…
guess what
if he needs a home, send it my way.
Definitely going in a museum. Can’t let it in the wrong hands. Valuable data and tech in that bad boy.
Vault
@HeyThatsMe3 invade a country and there you got atlas from the museum, along with other valuable things.
New one just Arrived...
The New atlas just looks like a weird skinny copy of Tesla robots
I still prefer the HD Atlas It look badass and its looks straight out of sci-fi movies.
this feels like one of those cut scenes...
They’ve already showed clips of their new robot to replace the old one
This is amazing futuristic robot 🤖
WOW, have you seen their new robot, it is awesome, electric powered, "All New Atlas"
wow since when did their robots become self aware enough to retire??
😂😂😂 right?
He went insane in the silicon membrane.
Good one!
"Oof!! My balls!!

After a couple of phone calls with Tom Brady, Atlas will come out of retirement. “I can still function!”
not even 24 hours old. milked doesn't get spoiled this early
“Will it be a Home assistant or factory worker, or will it be joining the Police Academy or Military? Most likely it will be all of the above”. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is absolutely terrifying.
Atlas with AI is a perfect combination.
Combination of human's death.
Should have waited until this morning, BD released a video for V2
new one just dropped
i hate the look of the new one
The New atlas just looks like a weird skinny copy of Tesla robots
I still prefer the HD Atlas It look badass and its looks straight out of sci-fi movies.
I think the normal course of development should be to apply the algorithms learned during development to making all other machines more useful and heading in the same direction
Omg the new robot is out… scary…
They renamed the company Skynet yesterday 😅
Robots will give elderly people the care they need in their own homes rather than the elderly moving to an assisted living facility, or worse, an old folks home proper. I look forward to keeping my independence as long as possible as I age.
Super cute little dudes at the end 🤖🤖 🐲
Boston Dynamics, AaaH yes, the company brought to u by the Tv series FRINGE. Good times & the Good Ol Dayz! 😊
We have 11 more years until we reach iRobot setting.
11? 2.
iRobot is out of date. The robots can't even do art in that world.
So curious what is next
Atlas
intetesting
the reporter’s a.i. voice is even more convincing now.
I refuse to believe that there wouldn't be at least one employee in Boston dynamics thinking of creating a rogue robot, just by replacing a chip.
What is the total monetary expenditure for robot Atlas?
They could send me this guy. I'd keep him working. Nothing worse than retirement.
Secretly renamed as T900 and launched in the wild
They explicitly repeated multiple times that it won't be used in any context where it will be expected to hurt people, like the military and police force.
DARPA is for the military plus policies change all the time.
@@teslasoftwareupdates6017 Company culture determines how often policies change, so I'd advise not looking at other companies to gauge that.
DARPA is indeed for the military, but we both know what he meant.
So funny when people say stuff like this. As if you have any real choice when the united states gvt/military decides they are going to do whatever they want
They will. You think just because Boston dynamics says they won't it means no one ever will?
It's a military contracted machine. Boston Dynamics won't have a say, but that doesn't mean the bots will "hurt people" just because they're in the military or police force. Worst case, they send them into a hostile area armored up and using bean bag guns. To prevent actual lives from being lost/risked
IMO, this technology is at least 75-100 years away before actually being applied to daily life
where did you grow up playing with robots tethered with wire harness ??
Terminator incoming
Oooohhh! The poor thing retired with zero kills.
Their next robot after 11 years of fine tuning will finally be able to wipe front to back without getting hydraulic fluid on its hand.
I can see nasa or spacex sending a crew of robots prior of human crew to build and survey mars
Which of these robot clips are computer animations and which are film of actual robots?
This is important for us all to know.
Like the white stairs clip?
@@percentage1749 The dancing clip that was released as an advertisement several years ago is one of them that appears very likely to be CGI.
@@user-wl2xl5hm7k Boston dynamics clips have been found to not be CGI, so all of those clips from Boston dynamics are real.
@@thetrizone You need to cite to evidence of that with good empirical methodology. The clip I mentioned above appears to most likely be CGI to my visual perception.
@@user-wl2xl5hm7k And your visual perception can be flawed. Your point?
Yea their dancing alright. Guess whos going to be ruling the world soon.
"Oof!! My balls!!"

@CNET The new Atlas Robot has been unveiled, just one day later... (-_-;)
John Conor where are you😭
I think they are replacing this hydraulic humanoid with an electric actuator humanoid so they can compete with all the new humanoid robot companies.
Great guess, you were right!
@@SyrupSplash yup, just saw their new video.
Retires from commercialisation, joining US troops
so all robot manufacturers are aiming to either make R2D2 or C-3P0
these things would be great in dangerous environments, fires, hostage situations, etc and wars unfortunately
They will release a version with a granma skin.
Atlas will now use their free time to create art and write poetry.
The rise of SkyNet 🤖
I thought dancing based on thumbnail😔
can you do a video Type C for dummies.
Data / Charging C Type
USB 3.0 / 4.0
In Data there is Bandwidth / HDMI / Transfer ..
In Charging there is Amphere Wattage
This unlevelled camera/framing is driving me nuts 😅
What would robots do in retirement?
Join the circus?
We need more contortionists...
i guess the narrator is elroy jetson; what kids grew up playing with robots?
I am sad to hear about THIS Atlas going away - He was to be my Next Husband. :(
Bro published this after 24 hours of no sleep to only find that they released the new Atlas 1 day later.
.
Old, video is old.
Skynet...
I'm really curious to see if they will stay with some linear actuators but Brushless motors rotating ball screws.. other than that, probably the same round semi-direct drive rotwtional actuators, but right now, my guess is they'll be using RL with their MPC for a better hybrid.. actor critic model predictive control with a transformer picking the Q&P values,.. and a bunch of secret sauce, i.e. keeping all their weights n biases and policies and cost functions to themselves. Well they'll probably tell us the value rules they are optimising for.
I'm curious ti see if they will be teaming up with someone for the RL side of things or will they do it in house.
Are they in the NVidia group?
Next will be a robot control by AI
The next one will come in the boot of your ionic 9
Even if all we loved these videos, Atlas was never going to be a product at all. Its movement were almost entirely scripted and small errors would mean a disastrous fall. Its movement were hydraulic, its weight enormous and its features, albeit amazing to behold, were not useful in real use (somersaults anyone?). What Tesla started is a humanoid robot race that is going to change the world. Many competitors are well placed in this arena. When the AI bubble bursts, it will be the time for humanoid robots. Billions will be poured into this business and some companies are going to dominate the world. Boston Dynamics must follow this path as well. A humanoid robot without AI would be like a blender (and this is what Atlas was). Do you fear robots are going to steal your job? Invest in the companies that will win this war and you can retire happily without worrying about money any more
They just implemented all they've learned from this Atlas into the "New" atlas they announced a few hours ago (for commercial use)
@@SyrupSplash it's a good start, but they need to rethink the whole robot in terms of what driver its actions (AI) and costs per unit (a Spot is $75k if I recall correctly. This should mean an android robot can't cost less than $100k now. They must lower its price to around $20k)
@@carloorelli3538 In due time
Fkrst seconds madz me feel like it a 3d rendering not a real video
Invest in Boston 😉
Retiring from what ? What has it been doing all these years except making videos of it just playing around
The old design was flawed. All the hydraulic tubing was a very flimsy weakness. The new model is far more sleek
Why do we need humanoid robots?
Besides tricks, what use are these robots? Who is using them and for what? They look like really cool, expensive toys to me.
The world is filled with cheap labor and I have a robot vacuum cleaner already.
It’s in development. Boston dynamics UA-cam chanel just now posted their next robot atlas.
No amount of money will keep a person working 24/7/365, a one time payment plus maintenance costs net you just that with a humanoid robot. Having a general-purpose humanoid robot results in the ability to implement automation in practically any and all physical work environments. A robo-vacuum will vacuum, on one floor, and do nothing more. A humanoid robot can vacuum on all your floors and do much more, since it operates and is designed similarly to a human (which your homes, factories, and all other environments are designed for). Not to say humanoid robots are going to be in homes any time soon but just to emphasize the reasoning behind the development of these things.
Title is a lie
👍👏👏👏
What will we do when robots replace us in all places? Human will become not needed, how we will live.
We were just fine as monkeys. We never needed any of societies drama. Now, we'll get to be cyberpunk monkeys that party and explore actual interest rather than work our entire lives away for no reason
@@smittyvanjagermanjenson182 it is philosophical phrase, but it is not an answer.
7 billions people want to eat at least three times a day, but if everywhere will be robots how they will be able to earn money?
From first step, when human started his industrial progress he started his way to apocalyptic problem for his civilization.
I wasn't born yesterday, this thing is heading straight to a military application fo sho! They gonna upgrade its battery chemistry and autonomy tweak its program a little bit sprinkle some AI into it then paint it in a camouflage color and of course it finna have some sort of weapon system attached to its arms whether it's a lethal weapon system or a none lethal one for law enforcement civilian application such as a taser for instance🤷🏾♂️
First they gonna deploy this thing into a handful of penal colonies and use convicts as guinea pigs like they always do then after the trial and error drill period they gonna start shipping it straight to the next police precinct near you and next thing you know this thing will be knocking on your entrance door telling you it has a warrant on you for not paying child support and you have 5 seconds to open the door before it starts busting through and tase your *zz up! While macing you at the same time...
Nope it’s retired they have a new slimmer robot now
0:06 I spy 2 guitar or bass amplifiers, 2 bass guitars (1 fender), 1 fender guitar, 3 acoustic guitars , and 1 keyboard. Hello fellow musician! 😉
Happy And Safe Retirement Atlas A.I. Farewell, Well, Maybe Because Time Changes People And The Internet.
Next up.... T-1000
It still need a human face and silicone rubber skin
This video is fake, right before he gets up, pay attention to the reflection on his face around the 3 second mark. It spazzes out for a second, looks digital to me.
We nekdo humanost robots, becose human body design is one of the most usefull for things whitch we doo. Robots . Sory ror my bad english
I hope the next robot is potty trained and knows how to flush when done.

We won't miss you atlas
Robots can retire?
Well people they show there new atlas Robot and it's creepy 😅😂
Ichi eimon! SAO fans get ut
Chappie robots inbound
Because they could not compete with open ai.
OpenAI doesn't make robots, dude. Also. Their new one, announced today, is state of the art.
Boston dynamics just revealed the new atlas.
*Parkour!!* 😏 Parkour!!!
It will be able to be hacked
Sad to see it go. It was so inspiring. The Tesla Robot is hot garbage compared to it. Atlas was inspiring, Tesla robot is depressing.
Boston Dynamics fell behind the competition by not adapting quickly enough to AI. I hope they can catch up quickly and fuse their engineering expertise and algorithms with AI to a new level of humanoid robotics. Their challenge will be development agility, price and market placement.
fell behind who? who uses AI in their robotics and is leading? lol
Most of these are overhyped and some are straight up scams. *cough* Tesla. 😷
As much as I want to buy Tesla stock my conscience of support that thing of a human, wouldn’t allow me to sleep at night.
I used to work at Tesla and more than half of the cars we sent out had manufacture defects and don’t even get me on the horrible things I saw on those polygon trucks. Piss poor quality.
No NDA because I was a contractor through a contractor through a contractor lol I’ll keep talking trash and warning people.
@@HeyThatsMe3 That’s crazy they make them sign NDA. It’s almost like they are doing something wrong.
No,no,no,. I buy it, let them put a price on it. I put the hydraulics and the battery. a trillion for the software and another trillion for the hardware.
Their next robot will have an expressive talking head.
Tesla bot only
The bots can't wait to chase us to the ends of the Earth.
Easy... Sexbot 😂
The only thing I am sure is that we will dive deeper in capitalism, which will put us away just like it has already been
HD Atlas has no future in its current form, to big and clunky. It was entertaining but the market wants productive bots like what Tesla, Figure, Agility and other are aiming for.
Tesla is not clunky? it moves like its 2001
The new entertainment is language models. No-one cares about walking robots anymore.
