I would never had assumed lighter tanks would beat heavier.
I remember someone showing me that in Tiberian Dawn. The light tanks' sheer volume of fire couple with presenting so many targets absolutely overwhelms everything.
Each unit can only shoot one enemy at a time. No matter how powerful, if the mammoth is taking 6/7 hits for every one it lands, it's going to get overwhelmed. Kind of what happened with the US Shermans vs the German Tigers in WW2. One German tank could destroy 4 American ones, but the Americans always had 5.
Kev Burke inaccurate. Sherman tanks were evenly matched with German panzer IV’s. The only tank they had issues with were the tiger tanks but few of them were in the western front. The bulk of tiger tanks were were fighting against the soviets. Even still at least 1 tank in a squad of 5 were outfitted with an upgraded canon that was able to penetrate a tigers armor at distance.
This is so cool. So far I haven't seen any battle involving technicians / civilians. I guess I'll be fun to see something like 1000 technicians / civilians vs 10 minigunner.

I was originally gonna suggest 40 mammoth tanks, but thought it'd be overkill due to their heavy armour. Goes to show the Allies greatest strength is numbers!
