Wow! A man I would love to talk to, as I love gemstones and how they came into being! Such a tragic waste to kill himself at aged 54yrs old! Mental illness was tragic in those days,, and even in death those affected were denied a burial within a graveyard. A very good video, with all the research giving us the viewers superb information, and the ability to understand exactly how life was in those days! Thankyou. ....Tich.
There's actually a photograph of him from 1847 (did you mention that and i missed it?) That is rather impressive in itself. I loved the tour of his home. Thanks for this wonderful video. I look forward to your next one.
Thank you Julie! I enjoyed this video. I would have enjoyed meeting this man. He must have been a very interesting person. Sad to hear he left so soon. Mental illness can be so very hard. For those who suffer from it, and for those who love them. I'm glad to see that there were some in his town who understood the challenge, and didn't punish him or his loved ones for what he went through. I loved seeing the house, and all that was inside. (Sorry I'm watching this so late...I'm playing catch up on my favorite UA-camrs! Life has been busy lately. Give Wrecks a big hug from me.
What an interesting man, I knew nothing about him before watching this video. It's mindblowing to think how old those fossils are. What a shame he suffered towards the end of his life.

Ah, yes. There's a couple of surviving photos of him we showed in the video. A fascinating guy!
Beautifully done video. He was a remarkable man. Thanks for this.
Thanks Valerie! He truly was amazing. Could have rambled on for hours about him if I'm honest....

There often seems to be a melancholy surrounding those with the most to offer! Thanks for watching.
