Quick advice for yall. If you don't have a parallel comp plugin like the one he shows or I love NY I'd say you don't even wanna try to put it on a beefy 808. It will mess up your sound way more than make it sound good. You can get cool sounds with those plugins but specially if ur starting out with this I'd say stick to easier stuff for now and start using it with kicks, snares or even in your drum bus
True. Parallel Agressor is geared more towards those who have at least a functional understanding of mixing. Plus, as stated on the Baby Audio website, its meant as a supplementary tool, not a bookend or a magic bullet. A sort of garnish to lay on top of your 808, if you will. PLUS, Parallel Agressor is FREE to try anyways, so I say everyone should use it and decide for themselves! Thanks for tuning in btw, Symmo!

Yo go to fruity compressor and click the release to 200 ms, the type to soft, the thresh-hold between - 35 and - 27 db depending on how uneven the sound of ur voice is, push the gain to 5, ratio for trap vocals are usually 8:1, attack around 30. u will see the compression making ur vocals fire now

are you doing gain staging before leveling the 808 and other parts of the beat ?
Yes, I actually am. I used to say that gainstaging was not that important, but it can actually be critically difference making in beat mixes alot of the time. Controlling the input and output of your sample at every level (sample, channel, track/fader) gives you way more power when making beats. I will def be doing a tut on gainstaging as it relates to 808s. Very soon. Thank you for your dope question btw, and thank you for tuning in!!
