This is my favorite watch. Extremely light, legible, analog, timing bezel, day date, 100m water resistant, low price. I love a white dial and dive style indices.
After watching a million videos on watches and owning a lot of them Casio offers the most bang for your buck Casio watches have never let me down and its completely baffling how they are so dead accurate at such a humble price
So true I have both both this and a Timex expedition for work and this keeps better time at 1/3rd the price, only have to replace the casino because after years I ruined it to a point that it can't be read any longer
Well a significant part of the cost goes to everything else excluding the movement, and other intangibles such as advertising, product support, and other overhead. This Casio is made almost entirely of plastic which really helps keep costs low. I understand these analog Casio watches also use Miyota movements although I think they're not Made in Japan.
@@ronch550 Pretty sure all Miyota movements are made in Japan. This particular Casio however is assembled in China. Made vs assembled being the difference here. I picked one of these up for a few bucks at a thrift store recently. I threw a battery in, and it seems to be working just fine. A bit of Polywatch to polish the resin crystal and a good cleaning made it look nearly new. So far I'm enjoying it, although it does wear a bit too large on my wrist if I'm being completely honest. I think it's a good vacation watch, or work around the house type watch. For the price you pay new for one of these, you really can't complain too much.
Ive got 18 casio watches Digital and also analog some of my casio watches are over 10 years old and still working in good order Casio is a branded brand
I'm in nursing and have worn this and beat it to hell. Not only has it stood up to everything I've thrown at it but it has in the 6 months I've had it only gone +2 seconds with zero adjustments. This blew my mind and won my heart
One could make a good argument that this is the pinnacle of quartz watch technology. Since no one actually repairs a quartz watch, it makes little sense to create a case of any worth, artistic or economic. The price is so low that it almost more sense to replace the watch rather then the battery. And lets talk about water resistance. Since it only has a stem and no buttons, there is only one entrance point for water to get in. If you replace the watch rather then change the battery, the seal on the bottom of the case, will never wear out. It is the VW Beetle of watches, embrace it for what it is...............
Just got this for 11 dollars! It seems Casio has improved this watch overtime. I got the version with the Arabic numerals and it's fully loomed on the numerals and all three hands. Also on mine the seconds hand hits most of the indices spot on!
BTW no one really expects lume on a 15-20$ plastic watch....and you do know, there are other color combinations with far more contrast for better legibility.
This the watch I have been looking for all my life. This is the 1st watch that my dad ever bought for me when I was 5 years old. (now 31) I will definitely buy it after knowing the model no. This is definitely the same exact one. Thanks for the upload. Really appreciate it.
Wore one of these almost daily for 2 years. The clasp finally broke a week or so ago. Replaced with a timex expedition scout 40, just was ready for something different than the sport watch look. Funny enough until watching this I hadn’t even realized (maybe forgot) this watch supposedly has any lume at all lol. Great review as always!
Casio has the best watch to dollar ratio. My favorite work and sports watch. Does its job well and I don't feel too bad when it gets scratched, nicked and worn down. Pretty good deal for only $15.
Bought one of these a long time ago for a work watch I didn't care about and years later I was still using it until I spilled some nasty chemicals on it that left it impossible to read. Was more accurate than my Timex expedition indiglo that is 3x the cost
It's common for Casio to offer the same watch in different colors. If visibility is an issue I think you should've gone with the variant of this watch that has a black face. But yeah, this is a 'just fine' watch that you pick on days when you don't wanna get robbed.
Got this watch for work a couple years ago at Kohls. I forget what I paid, but I think it was twenty-something. As a paramedic its good because if I get any fluid on it I can easily clean it and disinfect it; and the second hand works fine for checking pulses. The rotating bevel has stuck in place, I could probably loosen it with pliers but it's just not a feature I ever really use so I don't notice it. The plastic buckle you referred to just broke and it looks like I have to buy a whole new band for $10. Casio apparently subcontracts out all parts orders to a different company and they say its back ordered 4-6 weeks. I feel a bit silly waiting that long for a band for such a cheap watch as I'm sure there after market bands I could get that may hold up better, but I probably will lol.
I have this exact model for about a year now as my daily beater along with the Duro, and this watch never fails me except for the straps which i had to change twice since i bought it
There are other watch faces for the MRW 200 that do not make it look like a cheap and boring sports watch! I saw this video and another one where a diver took it to 100+ feet. Ordered it. I will hold on spending more on sports/dive watches for a while, till I use this to its fullest (that is till it breaks). Taking these watches for diving is fun.
Picked up a Casio MTP3050D-2AV for job interviews. I think that's the most I'm going to invest in dress watches. Now, to the more interesting ones...as in the ones that actually work!
Yup, I got the same and the legibility is fine. The 'lume' is bad for sure but I wasn't expecting anything better. It's a cheap, relatively tough, expendable wrist watch which I use when working outdoors. No complaints.
Nick...you’re killing me! First watch guy to make me laugh my a** off. Had various versions of this watch but I prefer the dot indices to the Arabic numerals. Like you, I’m into simple dials. Link below is best except for the glitzy “gold” accents on a $15 beater. The pips and bezel markings are more burnt orange than shown in pic...not bad. Why they don’t make a black face with silver or white hands and pips is beyond me. Lume??? It has none as you prove in your “lab”. LMAO! Thanks, you’re better than the ShamWow guy! www.amazon.com/Casio-Mens-MRW200H-1EV-Watch-Black/dp/B005JVP0DC
HI there, it's strange that those people who present watches never refer to the movement inside, nor the kind of battery...It's a bit like if someone presented a laptop without refering to the processor inside ...Cheers
Nice review Nick you are right pretty crappy strap, just need some modification on it but for15$ it is definitly not a tragedy for low priced watch. A nato strap and yeah it’ll do enough. Thanks for the review and recommendation.(even if you didn’t recommend it)
IF YOU are going into a neighborhood/country with a high crime rate, and YOU do not like digital watches, then this IS the perfect watch for YOU ! CASIO has always made reliable and accurate watches, so I see no reason not to buy this watch. Just be careful. A CASIO is EASY to fall in LOVE WITH !!! And YOU will end up forsaking ALL of YOUR other watches ! My F-91W is now the most used watch in my 25 watch collection... And I HATE Digital Watches !!! Go Figure !!!
7:45 i can't see anything between those 2 lol also amazon canada is always, always, a bit taxing but this time is way too wrong 41 CAD when the exchange rate is 1.30 ...COMON for reference , 15 USD should be 20CAD
Yep it really sucks. Most Casio watches are awesome because they're cheap. But when I see the standard casio watch, the F91W which is usually like $10 usd, as $25+ cad I get pretty annoyed.
legible?? that is the anti-legible, it is white on white; black on black is the same; in watches you NEED mixed races, better is white on black,my eyes were once good; and casiok put no night led on that??!
interesting...I own some fine Swiss and Japanese watches, but amazing that Casio can make a watch this great for $15. I've had many variations of the MRW-200H. Great when working on machinery or in the yard.
Hey, Nick it's me again. In my experience over the years with Casio watches, they should have stuck to making calculators, as their watches are crap. I had a 'G-Shock'-it rotted and fell apart. Take my advice-steer clear and buy something of better quality, it may cost more but it'll be worth it.
This is yet another Casio gem that people buy as a throw away and end up keeping and wearing a lot.
I’ve recently bought a Casio f108h for ~$10 dollars and I wear it more than I do compared to my Tag Heuer and Citizen
This is my favorite watch. Extremely light, legible, analog, timing bezel, day date, 100m water resistant, low price. I love a white dial and dive style indices.
For $15 i'm impressed the bezel moves at all. They often don't on the cheapos.
Not with a Brand like Casio

How anyone struggles to read this dial is beyond me. Very readable.

You can get the same model with a black or navy blue dial, much easier to read.

A rotating bezel is such a good feature on an analog watch. Bidirectional? Great, now you have a stopwatch and a timer, basically free!
Casio has the best watch to dollar ratio. My favorite work and sports watch. Does its job well and I don't feel too bad when it gets scratched, nicked and worn down. Pretty good deal for only $15.
Great video, Nick. You can get the dark background with the white hands now. This has become my go-to watch.

That's exactly what it is: a watch to take on a trip and not worry about it, while still being handsome enough to be a joy to wear and look at.

Maybe a silicone band for medical use.
Can the resin band be replaced with a NATO strap?
Nice looking, decent watch for swimming and knocking around in. A lot of bang for the buck. For $15, more features than I would expect.
You should have bought one of the versions with the dark face.
some people like me prefer white dials
LOL - "temporally discombobulated" - awesome.
Same I love this dude
I have this exact model for about a year now as my daily beater along with the Duro, and this watch never fails me except for the straps which i had to change twice since i bought it
