y'all know that in the Philippines, plastic surgery is unpopular. Almost Filipino have double eyelid. And our skin is not black, it's "brown" in tagalog "KAYUMANGGI". In some part, other Filipino literally born with a white skin. Almost of the artist here in the Philippines have a natural beauty, take a look of their childhood photos. Other people who lived in other countries said we are ugly, like duh, that's what we called GLOW UP, in our childhood we're busy playing our unique game like TUMBANG PRESO (shooting Sardines Can or Milk Can using Slippers) CHINESE GARTER, HIDE AND SEEK, BAHAY BAHAYAN, and Also we're doing Climbing a tree. We Filipinos might also have no idea how to identify pure Filipinos. Since there are Filipinos who gives Western, Japanese, Spanish, even Korean and Chinese vibes. And considered as pure by the way. My family tree even consist of having variety of skin color, eyes, nose, and even our hair are different. Me having a curly kind of hair is an example. Cool fact, my hair was straight during my childhood days.Then suddenly became curly and wavy on my Senior High School days. But the one who have impacted the Philippines was actually the spanish. SPAIN colonized the Philippines for almost 400yrs. Our culture, language, beliefs, foods and architectural things are actually Spanish influenced. Actually, SPANISH & CHINESE cultures are the dominant influences in the Philippines.
I believed we have 3 standard beauty here. THE MORENA, MESTIZA AND CHINITA. you can see these beauties anywhere in the Philippines! In my case I also have chinese and spanish blood that runs in my blood, too. Actually some foreign people think that when a filipino is white they think theyre half. actually no. there are filipinos who have white skin. Theres no such thing as PURE FILIPINO because obviously of our mixed heritage. there are known half filipinos bcoz of either their mother and father are a foreign and also there are filipinos who look like a foreign but actually they are pure filipinos (either their ancestors or great great grandparents have foreign blood) generation to generation thing. if u all get what i mean. hahaahha
