You need to do a follow up with these people and see if they still love it! First 6 months is was good but last 2 years was beyond awful 😔 we finally sold everything and moved back to Greensboro Georgia. I've talked to so many people that told me the 24/7 RV life goes down hill and fast. Sure does.

Thank you so much! We have always valued family time, but adventuring together and cheering one another on with personal challenges really strengthens family bonds!
Yep not all teenagers are rebellious. I’m 64 but when I was 12 our family of 7 traveled in a VW bus from May to August. When weather was pleasant we slept in our sleeping bags under the stars. When it was raining, we all slept in the bus. Our dad had made a plywood “bed” to fit across the tops of seats. Mom and dad slept on that, oldest siblings underneath it on the floor of bus, youngest ones in the back trunk which was uncomfortably warm, since the engine was actually underneath the trunk. We made a huge loop around the U.S. We still reminisce about that summer of 1970. So many memories. This was without A/C too.
Came across this video in search of an nice rv for me and my fiancee, and this was the 1st video i clicked on. Read comments on the how did you and your husband did it, and the answers made perfect sense to our ideas after our wedding. Thanks for sharing your video and answers. Lovely home and tight knit family! May God continue to bless your family and safe travels!
Your kids are awesome. I was a public school teacher and now am a huge advocate of home-schooling. We did some RV trips with our son when he was a teenager and we found that families that RV together are generally close-knit and the kids are open to quick friendships. Thanks for sharing your journey!
Thank you so much! We have grown so much closer over the past 5 years. I'm sure adventuring and sharing experiences (plus being in tight quarters) has deepened our relationships with oneanother!
I agree family has to become bonded again and if that means becoming close then let it happen ! Throw out those hi-tech toys and enjoy the beauty around us .Grow from seeing people around us !
I totally agree with the idea of doing home schooling as opposed to public schooling….even better is private schooling…specially if the private school is known for being real good…public school teachers are terrible, some are good I am sure. Bullying is another reason that makes public schools bad…the bullying comes from all directions, from the administration, the teachers and the other students….public schools should not be judged by their success stories rather they should be held accountable for their failures….one can accomplish in two hours in a home schooling setting what the public schools do in 6 hours…for my taste i much rather live in a 3000 square feet house, send my 1 son to private school and travel during summer time…
This is so amazing to see you guys express the enjoyment from giving up your home to live in a RV. I know it’s a beautiful thing just from how everyone from the family spoke. Extremely inspiring for other RV family to experience. You should find time to visit Belize 🇧🇿. Belize is a multicultural country that you’ll get to know about the creol, garinagus, the Mayans, etc.
So spacious and yet the kids have a bunk, it is hardly a room either when it is just a curtain . What a difference between that spacious huge master with all that space and privacy and what the kids get.
It's called teaching kids discipline and appreciate all the simple things in life. Not like your bebeinJapan culture..."give children everything they want" type of society. These kids are disciplined, well behaved, adventurous, enjoy learning, and kind. These are not your typical overweight, lazy, failing, nasty kids sitting in front of computers playing games all day. The parents "paid" for the Class A Motorhome...not the kids. Good parents decide where they sleep. Challenging circumstances are good for kids...they learn from it...they learn to appreciate simple things in life.
Why don’t we leave the sleeping situation to this family. I had to share a bedroom with my siblings. Thought nothing of it. Lovely RV. What a wonderful experience.
That was such a delight to watch. What a lovely family. I love their humble, free spirited attitudes, their cute pet bunny, organic whole food pantry & fridge, their Susan Weiss Bauer books, shoe storage and I love their RV! May God continue to protect you guys while on the road 🙏 ❤️
That's a monster RV and has all the good stuff with everything covered imaginable. I'd be happy with a queen bed and more space around it. Pretty amazing. Bet it was a pretty penny!
What a gift this husband and wife are giving to their children! My son is 26 years old and has his own RV. He loves to travel mostly Boondocking. He’s met a wonderful woman who is a teacher and has a bit more time during the summer. They take every opportunity to hit the road! I guess is if they have a family they may not do this but hopefully something close. Safe travels…💜💜💜💜💜
@@Username451-t6f “it doesn’t matter where you are in life… It’s who you have beside you”. Children are “home” when they have a loving stable family. Judging people because they’ve chosen a different lifestyle than you is shortsighted. The only people that would know are the children. And asking them now isn’t really appropriate because they don’t get to choose, the parents do. Ask them in 20 years.
@@Username451-t6f i’m not sure what your point is… So because other suffer in the world we should all suffer equally? You don’t know what contribution these people make outside of their family… We do far too much judging of others and not enough of ourselves.
The decisions get made by the people doing the journey, not the audience, thankfully. Many travellers have kids who LOVE the lifestyle. They have tons of friends "on the road" and go back home to spend time with friends and family frequently.
I’m assuming by your comment that you’re getting pushback from folks who don’t think you should take your kids out on the road. They are probably just envious because they never did it. Home school kids tend to be better rounded, they learn more about the world around them and one family I know of purposefully visits places that have charity outreaches so their children are exposed to helping others from an early age. The children are taught contributing to the family unit and they also learn that they don’t get their own way every time. Mom is there for them instead of in a job keeping her away from home for hours on end and their son has dad teaching him small lessons that will stand him in good stead some day. Brother and sister get along great (it’s not always hearts and roses). They have their ups and downs, it would be foolish to think they didn’t. Their daughter is learning that she may have to leave her friends but she will get to see them again since mom and dad meet up with those kids parents frequently. They are healthy children and there isn’t any of the clinginess you frequently see in little ones. I was getting ready to say I was looking forward to seeing your truck when it’s complete. I have frequently heard from people who live their lives on the road that they also received much criticism from friends and family. Don’t let it stop you! Grandma and grandpa can get their own caravan and come with you if they are so worried about seeing the grandkids!
It would’ve been really nice to hear/see some of the other family members input on the RV. Maybe let the kids explain some of the different areas in their beautiful RV home.
They couldn't let their children speak, they would have told the truth. They're cramped into a ridiculously small rv with no privacy, which is essential to a teenagers development into adulthood.
@C B. It's different strokes for different folks. This may not work for every family, but it's working for them. Being Well-rounded could mean fully developed in some areas or having different experiences than other families. It's no secret that a close-knit family has less dysfunction if any and everyone can grow closer as a result. As I said before, this may not work for everyone.
@@too2great8 I completely agree that this lifestyle isn't for everyone! Thankfully it works very well for us and all of our kids have talked about how they plan to continuing some type of travel after they move out.
Well rounded?! I don't think so. Those teenagers need to go on dates and go to parties. Teens need to be with friends and play sports with their friends, not travelling in the mobile family dog house for years on end. Geeez...
What an awesome family you are!! Your children are getting the absolute BEST schooling ever on this adventure of yours! Your home is magnificent, such a beautiful feel to it. I can tell you are enjoying every moment of every day. Sending you light, love, peace, joy and abundance always. I love you. p.s. Your rabbit is adorable!!!
Great video! 1. Is there a door separating the master bedroom from the rest of the RV? 2. Sounds like there are 2 toilets in the master... anything separating them while in use? 3. Any issues with spontaneous stopping for food, etc with such a large RV? 4. How much does it cost to operate on a weekly/monthly basis?
I think the idea is really cool. It would worry me to sell my home though - I think I’d rather rent it out, hold the asset and have the option to move back every 12 months. Not owning a property for an extended period of time would make it harder to get back on the ladder.
@@jackiemaddox4577 that its not good for the children???? children should always be given a proper bedroom. Thats why these traveling families get shade thrown at them for their children lacking privacy
I love this story so much ! I fell in love with the idea of full time RVing in 2011. I had become disabled and was spending lots of time on line watching many families taking off to explore our beautiful country. I loved the idea of road school too. But due to my illness it was just poor timing. Our youngest was in middle school. And my husband had taken on extra work to make up for my lost salary. So for us it didn’t happen. But I have watched and enjoyed seeing families have precious time together. Before I knew it my youngest was 17 and off to college. She is one year away from becoming a doctor. We get to travel about 4 times to year to amazing places with her when she does internships. We did buy a class A and she almost stayed in it for an internship but unfortunately I became ill and an air B & B worked out that time. But I was overjoyed that she wanted to stay in the Rv. Then she and a friend stayed in it once. I would still be very open to traveling. But we started a husky rescue. And I haven’t found a place where we could stay with lots of huskies, lol. Currently we are planning a big move to live closer to our daughter. And it’s in a very sought after area. So at least we can live close to her. But nothing could possibly compare to being with family everyday. When we go rent a house for a month in nice places when our daughter is working at a hospital we enjoy every second. Her days off are spent sightseeing with us. We missed the boat on going with our young children. Please don’t let that happen to you. Time with the children is so short. 18 years goes by in a flash. It’s so worth having that time together. You can always come back to the sticks and bricks house. But you will never have the opportunity to be with your family everyday seeing all the sights if you don’t seize the opportunity. Once they are off to college, grad school and working in their chosen career it’s just too late. You might get awesome vacations a few times a year witch I highly encourage you to do. Those young school age years get away from you. And road school has got to be the best school in my opinion. The children learn first hand by visiting every possible place in the country to learn about all subjects. Road school children are so smart! Just do it. If you say I can’t afford it look into it. More jobs are becoming remote. And you can work a few hours a day and spend the rest of the time enjoying life with your children. Couples you too. I have always said couples need to travel away together for a while away from family to learn to lean on each other. And the single person it’s definitely possible. Who knows you might meet that special person to travel with out at some amazing place. And please if you go get on UA-cam and tell us about it. Those of us who just didn’t make it on the road. We want to hear all about it. Stay safe and remember time with family is the most important thing second is seeing this gorgeous place God made for us. God bless ! Leslye
So sorry to hear about your illness as your passion for this nomadic lifestyle radiates through your words. Those young years do go by so very quickly. I'm eternally grateful for this opportunity - it was very scary to take the leap but we have no regrets. I too encourage anyone interested to give it a try. It is not for everyone but if you are thinking about it you will likely soar and be so thankful you tried it!
Living in the RV may be nice or not, depending on your point of view. What's important, though, is that they all get to see more of the country than most Americans ever see in their entire lifetime. I think the kids will gain a perspective on their life and that of a lot of other people they meet on their journeys, that it will motivate them into doing something great to contribute to our society. You are wonderful parents to give your kids this opportunity!
Thank you for that encouragement! It is not a lifestyle for everyone but we as a family have throughly enjoyed our adventures together. I, like most parents, hope and pray they have positive contributions to our society and kindness when interacting with others. We have met such a variety of people along the way. Its been a great learning experience!
I live close to macon GA, what you are doing for your family is awesome and I applaud you. Ignore the negative comments from people who don't have a clue. My family of three lives in a 40 ft Holiday rambler imperial Diesel pusher and I homeschool my son. I wouldn't change it for anything. Public schools are too dangerous. Prayers for safe travels. Great video. Beautiful family! I loved the narrating and the individual comments from all of the family members. I'm a retired educator and I totally agree with families trying this out. Great experience for all. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and family!!
What a wonderful family. I could feel the love with them all snuggled up on the couch when sharing about their life on the road. Thank you for sharing.
As a teenager, you'd really want your own space. A literal room not a bunk bed for privacy. I couldn't imagine how hard this was for them (I'm only assuming) but if it works for them, I guess that's good?
What a dream of a house! And what a nice family. I think it would be wonderful to live like this, really a dream of mine. And the best thing about such a mobile home is that wherever you go, you always have your familiar surroundings with you!
Ahhh, thank you for your positive words. Yes, I can imagine that such a step can be quite scary. Glad it worked out so well for you! And who knows, my dream will also become reality! 😊😊
This is what makes America what it is...freedom. Freedom to decide to live how you want and to take your education and profession to do whatever you want.
This is real love and unity, I love your story, I enjoyed your story, watching from Barbados, God has been good to u, I love your home, wish u the best in life
Your family has made me a believer. I always wanted to travel in an RV through out this beautiful country. When you all stated let's give it one year and if it doesn't work we can go back to our old routine. When year turned into four years. Now I'm retired and not necessarily as agile or healthy as I was, however, I still want to RV.
Do it! Give it a try, I bet you will like it. There are things that come up and repairs that need to happen so it isn't all sunshine and roses but we wouldn't trade the experience!!
I'm so happy you can see this through our video! They are great kids with lots of love and respect for one another... of course they are siblings and have their moments where they annoy each other!!
We were six kids, five boys and one girl. At one point we were in a small three bedroom. I slept in the dining room on a fold out. My sister had her own room. Everyone agreed that of course she had her own room. Girls need privacy.
@@sojourning_smiths Thank you for the compliment. But really we were not. It's just girl stuff is another planet from rambunctious boys, and never the twain shall meet.
What a well made video! Beautiful family and inspiring story. You've given these kids an experience like none other. Your coach is gorgeous. I love that it doesn't have that grandma decor vibe that so many coaches have.
Hahaha "Grandma decor" I love that phrase. Also, Vegas decor - some have color changing lights on the ceiling. I do love the decor in our rig, there are a few things I would like to change still :)
What a great way to spend life and such a lovely family too. Good on you! You'll look back in years to come with great memories and in the end it's the memories that count.
I enjoyed this video so much. You have made such a great decision for your family. Your kids are a pleasure. You’ve done a great job raising well-rounded kids. I wish you many more years of family enjoyment ❤

I also live in Marietta, GA. I wish you guys the best and pray that you all stay happy and healthy, continue living in your RV free of hassle, and succeed.
This is an incredibly beautiful coach! I looked at this model because I needed 2 full baths, but the queen bed was an absolute no-go with 2 large dogs.
You have a very nice home, and clearly you guys are happy with the lifestyle you live. There’s no better way to bond as a family, and you and your kids will cherish this time together for the remainder of your lives.
Thank you! Yes, we love our home on wheels and the experiences we have been able to make together! These kids grow up so quickly & i cherish this time and the memories we have made together!
I’m thrilled for you all. It’s fantastic. There’s so many teachable moments traveling the country. Especially history. Our country is so unique and beautiful. Fantastic education! Very nice! 👏🏼
It is a beautiful home with a lot of bells and whistles. I’ve worked in motorhome and mobile home factories and to be honest with you the less stuff like that the better. In a few years a lot of that stuff isn’t going to work, and then you have a very expensive home with a lot of nonworking parts.
I can see that perspective for sure. Cars & home appliances are the same way. We have had to replace our convection oven. I will say Geoff is on top of maintenance which helps keep things operating to full potential.
@Heather Ghimire - I know right. Besides, who wants to spend all their time in an RV park anyway? I'd rather travel in a stealthed out white panel van with zero indication of a person inside, and simply learn to be satisfied with less. 15k worth of materials can make a Dodge hightop van quite comfortable.
Not a 4369. I have a 4369. This is the bunkhouse model (4326). If it is new, it retails for more like $700,000. It looks to be about a 2018, which did retail for about $500,000.
I just wanna say I love this family. The vibe is all good vibes. Thank you so much. I learned so much information from this one video than what I have actually been learning since 2020. I hope to be doing the same with myself and my three boys and doing exactly what you were doing. You are such an inspiration. I am so glad I found your story!
What a Wonderful life style!!! The experiences the whole family will have is far better than staying in one place. I would have loved something like this!!! Best wishes for all the the learning coming your way! Love your Bunny too!!
@@sojourning_smiths You would be amazed at what becomes a regular thing, when you do it two or three times. It is a good income after a while and all sort of new ideas for business might come from it. But up to you. Wishing you a Happy New Year with all the Blessings therein!
No solar?????? Diesel generators are no Bueno. But, what an incredible experience for your family! And what a great rig. But no solar?? That’s a head scratcher.
We have a trickle charge solar for our fridge etc. but the cost of installing solar didn’t prove cost effective. We have a camping membership that includes full hook up sites so we typically plan our routes & choose those parks to stay at.
I have ALWAYS wanted a bigger play house and/or a tree house. I remember drawing ideas of how i wanted the outside and inside to look. I wanted 2 floors with enough room to have sleepovers with my friends. I day dreamed about this idea and I BEGGED my dad to build me one. The best he could do was set me up a tent in the back yard. I still LOVED the compensation and spent sooo many weekends out there with my friends and we would sleep in it and everything. I did this for years and in 2 seperate backyards from when we moved to a new house. My true love turned into tiny houses and RVs. We used to go camping in tents all the time as a family and one time my friends family had a trailer and I was soooo jealous!!! I am currently 37 years old and im still OBSESSED with these types of lifestyles. I would LOVE to travel and find an Air BNB or something just to have a little taste because unfortunately it's still a dream for me. Now that I have 3 kids I double guess myself... but I have been talking about traveling somewhere and renting a few nights in. Tiny house or something like this for YEARS and I made a promise to myself to at least make that dream come true. ❤❤
I always loved going camping with my grandparents. A big portion of my life was camping and let me tell you I always looked forward to it. If I could do it again, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
@Just Be Both are technically camping, as are rustic cabins. I assume you are referring to tent camping. Tent camping is absolutely more "roughing it" than we do! I also would not tell people we are fulltime campers, we say we are fulltime RVers. Its not vacationing 24/7 either.
That is a long time to be on the road hating it! Yes, there are repairs and mishaps but it is a sacrifice we are willing to make to have all these experiences together as a family. I agree with you that it is not always rainbows and sunshine, but I feel the positives outweigh the negaives!
A family of 3 maybe, but not a family of 5. As an adult, I couldn't do it. I need my space and privacy. Now that I'm an adult, I'm still trying to figure out how the hell I was able to live with my brothers in one bedroom as a kid.
Everyone talking about the “poor” kid sleeping on the couch has probably never been in an rv before 🤦🏽♀️ he literally has the place to himself after bedtime. Kid’s got it made ❤
Wow, luxury on wheels! I am jealous of you guys 😊. I wish I could also go on this RV journey. Stay safe and enjoy the life together as a close knit family. Wishes from South Africa 👋

Thanks! We lived very frugal in our house, when we were 2 incomes working in corporate america we saved and paid extra on our mortgage and made investments. Our house was paid off when we sold it. Our RV was used and my husband now works remotely.
Love your RV, it is beautiful, and so spacious! What a wonderful way of life your family is experiencing and it’s a great way to see the parks! Your travels are something you will always remember. ❤👍
We've been traveling as a family of 5 for three years. First two years in our motorhome and last year in cabins, petsitting, and airbnbs throughy the US, Canada, and we just completed 6 months in Asia. We miss our motorhome and will switch back to it in a month. My kids are high schoolers and my oldest (who slept on the couch) always says he lives better than billionaires because he gets to see so many beautiful places year round. I asked the kids if we should settle down now and they all say No! I miss gardening
Just simply goes over that one of her kid sleeps on a couch in the living room. He doesnt hav3 privacy or nothing while they have a big room with a KING SIZED bed
I think it’s so important to remember that up until not that long ago (and still current for MANY) full families lived in one big space/room for a house!! The focus on so much individual space and stuff is super modern and western but not by any means the only or best way to live!😊

Thank you! I’m so glad they are able to travel, so much flexibility when you have all the comforts of home with you!
I bet the children would rather have a stable home and school with friends rather than this "gift". Very selfish.
@@mamalovesthebeach437 I judge a pair of private jet-setting grifters prancing about in designer gear in a country where many don't have enough food.
They have tons of friends "on the road" and go back home to spend time with friends and family frequently.
we have loved our years on the road and grown closer as a family!
I loved traveling with my mom many times :)
A lot of the snotty comments stem from envy . So sad .
This motorhome is way more spacious than my house! 😭 It's gorgeous!
Its about 300 square feet but very well engineered to utilize every bit of the space

It would’ve been really nice to hear/see some of the other family members input on the RV. Maybe let the kids explain some of the different areas in their beautiful RV home.
I think that is a great idea!!
@@sojourning_smiths 🙏🏿
They couldn't let their children speak, they would have told the truth. They're cramped into a ridiculously small rv with no privacy, which is essential to a teenagers development into adulthood.
@@shannonan7867 Hmm, I believe U are spot on my friend. 🎯
I truly enjoyed this video and this family outlook on life in general. The children are now so well rounded and have true life experiences. Great job!
Thank you! They have seen & experienced so much. I’m glad they are older and able to remember what they’ve done.
Geeez...
@@PracticalPerry A space like this would make great sense for a young family. I worry about three teens with no socialization.

Thank you so much!
So much more informative to see the the RV being utilised by the family in real time. So much better than a retailer commercial.
Woah, this looks more luxurious than most of the normal houses I saw. Gorgeous! ✨
Thanks it is quite luxurious. We love our home!
I think the idea is really cool. It would worry me to sell my home though - I think I’d rather rent it out, hold the asset and have the option to move back every 12 months.
Not owning a property for an extended period of time would make it harder to get back on the ladder.
You can’t call the family couch a teenagers bedroom
Best couch surfing out there 😀
So?????? what are you saying?
@@jackiemaddox4577 that its not good for the children???? children should always be given a proper bedroom. Thats why these traveling families get shade thrown at them for their children lacking privacy
Yes they can
They can do whatever they want.
I agree. They grow up so fast! I urge parents of young children to cherish time with them while ya got them.

One of the nicest couch setups I've seen on an RV. Functional in a way you can actually use compared to a lot of RV couches/chairs.
The opposing couches are great and both can be expanded to beds when the slides are out! Phenomenal engineering

What impresses me more is how your kids get along really well and I'm sure they love each other and nothing else in the world that matters but love.

He doesn't mind one bit and loves the adventure his couch surfing brings!
I used to happily sleep on the couch in the living room as a teenager. So its not a big deal for some of us
I think it’s so important to remember that up until not that long ago (and still current for MANY) full families lived in one big space/room for a house!! The focus on so much individual space and stuff is super modern and western but not by any means the only or best way to live!😊
