I'll be honest, I don't typically care to comment on like, reaction videos. But the way you actually notice things most people don't, catch on to things, and actually get legitimately invested in the movies, and actually really enjoy them, really lightens up my day in a pretty dark time for me with work drama. And it's always nice that every time I start my weekend off it seems like you have a video out and ready.
I didn’t pay much attention before but I realized here Dinoco bought Rusteze at the end. They liked Lightning and wanted to let him continue his career while also letting Cruz get her start under Dinoco. You can tell they have respect for Lightning and it’s awesome to see them help him out.
Tex Dinoco seems to be such a cool and laid back boss. I wish real life billionaires were more like him! I'm sad Nathan Filion's character turned out to be such a jerk though, wonder if Tex managed to talk some sense into him rather than just paying him off to get Rust-Eze (and therefore Lightning) under his wing.
All of Doc's new lines in this movie are actually discarded recodings of Paul Newman when he was recording for the first movie. They didn't bring a new voice actor.
One of the things I LOVE about this movie. They have a short to go along with it too, showing off the history of racing and the research they did to make it. The 3 older racers are also based on real people, Jr Moon even being voiced by his irl counterpart: Jr Johnson, and named after his moonshine
They developed techniques for modifying cars to make them faster (boring out larger piston chambers, slipping in larger engines, transmissions with higher gears, more efficient carburetors, custom suspensions, modified tires) than the police cars trying to pursue them - and racing these anything-but-stock cars to prove which of them was faster evolved into STOCK car racing.
Hands down my favorite movie in the Cars trilogy. It’s raw, it’s real, it’s mature. It would have been incredibly unrealistic to have Lightning somehow change and still be the beat, when technology is advancing and he’s just becoming obsolete. He would have lost himself in that, and it would have been such a weird ending. This ending is perfect BECAUSE it allows him to come to terms with the racing chapter of his life coming to an end. It was always going to happen, the only question was how Lightning would deal with it. And they managed to have him deal with it in the most generous and graceful way possible, while still keeping the fire and spunk in him. Love that.
@@duddrz well I really don't know the full story of Paul Newman all I know is he was an actor and his face printed on Newman's own dog food and Newman's own salad dressing that pretty much sums it up 🤷 don't judge me.🥴
People tend to be against the ending. But people fail to see how all the movie is really a buildup for Cruz and a way to end the series and McQueen's career on a more sweet than bitter note specially for older fans
The ending wouldve been satisfying if Cars 2 was all about lightnigh Mcqueen and not Mater. We want to spend more time with Mcqueen and Cars2 didnt do that so we were craving that in Cars 3 so I think this ending was great but I wish they did this in Cars 4 instead and gave us another mcqueen win in this movie
Fun fact: „Hamilton“ the car assistant voice is actually voiced by Lewis Hamilton (very cool f1 racer 😊). In the German version it is „Sebastian“ voiced by the legendary Sebastian Vettel (also a (former) f1 racing driver LEGEND)
Oscar, in regards to your questions at 9:59. Their "soul" is housed in their engine. In an earlier version of the story in the first movie, rather than hooking McQueen up to Bessie, Doc removed his engine and placed it in a Pavement Roller to perform the road repairs. So, obviously he looked completely different but still had the same voice and personality but different physical abilities.
We also have to consider what we saw on Cars 2. Axelrod "changed" from fuel to electricity, so that implies it's something that can be done. Also, we have "child" cars and "adult" cars, so they certaibky have to go through something like "getting upgrades" as they grow.
Watching Cars 1 as a little kid make me dream so much When i saw Cars 3 in the theaters after being an adult with responsabilitys etc, i felt it i cried after the fact that i'm not a kid anymore but i cried also because i still have a lot of time ahed of me to help futur generations and live my life
Something that was so great about this movie was that the whole “Rookies overtaking the veteran drivers” was/is actually happening in NASCAR. So it really hit deep knowing that all these new rookie punks were actually taking the spotlight away from the famous veterans irl 😢 They always put the heart and soul of NASCAR in these movies.
Cal's line his uncle told him about knowing when you're done, about 'the youngster's'll tell ya'? Good land, it hit hard, especially because of who it was being passed to. Strip Weathers was top of the field in his time; they state this plainly in the first movie when they're discussing Chick Hicks having 'chased that tailfin his entire career'. That season was Weathers's final season; the one he decided to retire after. You remember who was the freshest face there, the 'youngster' in that field? It was McQueen. *Lightning* was the youngster in Weathers's decision to retire.
Chick Hicks sounds different because in the first cars from 2006 he was voiced by Michael Keaton but while making this movie Michael Keaton was busy playing The Vulture for Spider-Man Homecoming
This movie has a real sense of dedication and love for the art of racing, it was really awesome to see a reactor emote with that so much. Another movie that pays a homage to a certain niche is Surf's Up. I don't care about surfing at all, but that movie makes me care about it every time i watch it. Its super unique and underrated, it would be awesome to see you react to it!
yeah definitely, I like how the movie celebrates the joy and love of racing. Something I liked about the character of McQueen is at times seeing him racing but not in competition, but just for fun and I really see that he loves racing.
Well, one point of clarification that bears mentioning here is that the Fabulous Lightning McQueen does NOT retire, thanks to Cruz. He gets to keep doing the thing he loves, even if it means he's not going to win as often as he's accustomed to (if even at all). He's in it for the love of it.
Just like finding Dory i was so looking forward to this reaction, it is definitely my favourite of the series, fun fact Cruz's "Hamilton" is voiced by Lewis Hamilton💕
“I asked my uncle how I’d know I’m done. You know what he said? The youngsters’ll tell ya.” Feels very true for anyone who’s older in an industry/profession dominated by young people
24:08 well it's speculated every cars movie is +/- 10 years and assuming McQueen's in his early 20s in the first movie he would be in his early 40s in this part, which makes sense because it's the age of retirement for most athletes
Random Interesting Facts From The Movie: - Cal's crew chief from the start of the movie is actually the King from the 1st movie! - A few sponsors from the first movie (Dale Earnhardt Inc, HTB which was Chick Hick's sponsor, Sidewall Shine, Tach-O-Mint, Fiber Fuel, Shifty Drug, and Retread) were replaced by the new sponsors (Carbon Cyber, SynerG, CombustR, Triple Dent which was a reference to Inside Out, Intersection, and BlinkR). - Brick Yardley, the racer who was fired at the Los Angles 500, can be seen behind the main 3, Lightning McQueen, Cal Weathers, and Bobby Swift. - Jeff Corvette, the racer who told Lightning to "win one for us old guys" was actually the yellow racer in Cars 2 who spoke to Lightning during the Towkyo party. - Bobby Swift was sponsored by the same company as one of the racer from the first cars movie. This racer is the orange one, (Billy Oilchanger), who laughed and was then smashed into by 2 other racers (James Cleanair + Haul Inngas). It would be a bit hard to notice as Billy and Bobby have a totally different paint scheme.
I just love this movie so much, it's a lovely tribute to McQueen's journey in the first movie, some great Karate Kid type touches, and such a beautiful love letter to Paul Newman. It's impossible for me to watch without tearing up when Lightning McQueen finally clicks and realises Cruz Ramirez's potential, then kinda of (nicely but firmly) makes her see what he sees, and what Storm sees.
17:54 fun fact, this dialogue actually got different F1 drivers cameos in different languages. In the English version it's Lewis Hamilton, in Spanish it's Fernando Alonso and in German AND Italian it's Sebastian Vettel. I felt so weird when I watched this when it came out. I was 17 at the time and I remembered when I was gifted the first Cars PS2 game for my 7th birthday. Nostalgia hits hard! I really liked this film though, a good direction for Lightning's story! Great video as always!🙌🏼
i've been so excited to see your reaction to this one! this is my favorite cars movie in the trilogy. it has such a great message and i love watching lightning and cruz's friendship develop!! it's also such a wonderful tribute to doc hudson and his voice actor!! the flashback where they show doc flipping over the rookie never fails to give me the chills
The only thing about reactions that I haven't seen comment on on this movie is that when Cruz gets signed by Dinoco and gets the 51 number. Haven't seen anyone catch on that she has Doc's number yet.
12:55 I did not have notice before that that Santa Cecilia's picture is the Santa Cecilia from Coco! The picture is even from The Day Of The Dead celebration!
This movie reached the climax of the series and lightning McQueen retired in a full blaze of glory and painted his entire car body with doc Hudson s Hudson hornet colors. So he followed in his mentors footsteps Sadly we'll never see something like this again Because Larry the cable guy disappeared from acting and wanted to be with his family and besides somethings do come to an end

They continued the universe with Planes (which I really enjoyed and put on the same level as cars 1) and Planes Fire and Rescue which is a sort of spin off sequel on par with cars 2 so if your still wanting more and to see a bit more of the universe I'd recommend at least the first
Fun fact: Cal Weathers is voiced by Kyle Petty. Kyle Petty is the son of Richard Petty. Richard Petty is the voice of Strip Weathers. Although, Cal Weathers is the nephew of Strip Weathers. Additionally, Linda Weathers was voiced by Linda Petty. She was Richard Petty’s wife and Kyle Petty’s mom. She has since passed away.
It's nice having such a different reaction to this movie, most people who watch this complained that Lightning gave Cruz the chance instead of winning the race himself.
For those wondering about the whole whoever starts the race gets the win rule it actually exists in nascar. Funny how Because cars is technically a nascar movie, but anyways the rule has appeared this year where driver named Kyle Larson was at the Indy 500 and he was gonna miss the start of the coke 600 so a driver from a lower series named Justin allgiar jumped in. And when larson arrived the race was on a pause due to rain and Larson got back into the car, and the announcers even admitted that if Kyle Larson wins the win would go to Justin allgiar because he’s the one who started the race. But they called the race 2 hours later while they were trying to dry the track.
28:01 Cruz knew all about only one of them probably cuz that's the only female car among those "legends" they were talking about. The one that stood out whenever she learned that cuz it's the one that actually looks like her and has been through most challenges she had to face. The one of that "older generation" that probably inspired her.
I initially thought that but it still didn’t make any sense. Usually someone like that inspires you to get into the sport, but once you’re into it, you’ll know about all the legends pretty quickly. I totally believe she may have been an integral part of her getting into racing but it’s still baffling she doesn’t know who Doc Hudson is (she also loves Lightning McQueen which just makes it even stranger 😆)
@@thecocoacouch Being a former coach too, yeah, you're right, she gotta know her history... maybe she was trying to bond with McQueen by bringing that up, since is a scene that happens just after they reconnected?! Idk, she also doesn't seem to recognize Smokey's name tho 🫠
A little detail I liked was how this movie is very much set in fall or early winter - in Radiator Springs, there's snow on distant mountains and in the shadowy areas in the valley, there's no leaves on the trees in most places, there's brown grass etc. Nice symbolism of McQueen's career being in its finale.
Please watch both Planes movies next! They are in the same universe as Cars and have nothing to do with the cars but they tell such fun and compelling stories!
@The Cocoa Couch, if the racing in the woods moment didn't make sense to you, it's a huge bit of the lore of American Racing. The origins of NASCAR are in running moonshine during the days when it was completely illegal in the US. Moonshiners would trick out their cars to outrun and outwit the cops. Eventually, in addition to running moonshine, these guys started racing each other and the sport of NASCAR was born over the decades.
Marshmallows 😂 I enjoy when Oscar says that in every video. I didn't realize that there was a 3rd film. It's great that Oscar's watching these movies I feel like by watching these videos it makes me want to watch the full movie. I love when I recognize voice actors in these movies I get surprised sometimes when I hear a familiar actor and have to look up who played the character and then realize what movies I saw them in. The crash scene reminded me of Talladega nights
I love this movie ❤ Hey Oscar... Since you're done with the trilogy, you could try watching "Planes". It's in the Cars universe as well. Also, I hope you'll get to "Princess Diaries 2" as well
the real full circle moment comes to its close with the 3rd movie! this one gets ya every time thats for sure lol. my first time seeing lightnings crash, i was like "oh crap we're really at this point now smh" 😭😭😂😂
There's currently one more Cars media for you to watch. Cars on the Road. A mimi-series of 12 episodes, I think? It's basically Lightning and Mater out on a roadtrip across the country.
There was a deleted scene in the first movie that showed that a car's soul/brain was in their engine (hilariously, instead of hooking up to Bessie, Lightning dreams he gets his brain put in a steam roller, and Mater gets his soul in Lightning's body and drives off). Whether that is canon is debatable, since Cars 2 seems to imply Miles could have turned himself into an electric car (even if he didn't, there weren't any eyebrows raised that he could have)
I never saw Cars 3, so can't watch this one, but did you see that they officially announced Incredibles 3 yesterday? Also directed by Brad Bird. Changed my mind, watching the reaction and just using that as enjoying the film haha.. Noticed that they hinted at Coco at 12:54. Cars 3 came out in June 2017 and Coco in November same year.

its refreshing to watch a reactor that genuinely goes into it with joy and pays attention and getting into it. most just sorta laugh or gasp and say stuff thats happening not actually contributing anything. but not you. its nice
fun fact tho, some of those characters are based on real life race driver's cars, King from Dinoco is Richard Petty's Plymouth Superbird, Doc Hudson is the Hudson Hornet, Chick Hicks is a Buick Regal
I forgot how much feels I get with Cars 3. I'll have to rewatch it properly sometime soon. Will you react to Planes? I know a lot of people trash it, but I honestly really enjoyed it and I think it has some good messages in it ❤
I was 3 years old when Pixar made Cars, it instantly became one of my favorite movies and I loved the sequel. When I was 13 or 14 the trailer for Cars 3 came out while I was in my "too cool" era, and I remember feeling the crunch watching that trailer. I couldn't believe it, I had to see the movie, I had to... and then... 6:39 - 7:10. I was In complete silence. That's a core memory right there. Anyways, I love the Cars trilogy. Great part of my childhood. Nice to see you finally reacting to it, I like your reactions.
Thank you so much. I just found your channel through your reactions to the animation movies and it feels so fun and warm to watch something with someone else and hear the thoughts on it! Especially if its something you like. Helps me a little bit through my situation right now. You go so open into this, it is cool to see

Spoilers in case you haven't finished the movie dear reader. 32:00 Man, self-doubt is a funny thing. Right here Cruz already shows she can race. aside from her casually hitting 193 speed in her introduction I love that Sally talks about Lighting getting that chance (around 08:20) and in the end he gives the chance to Cruz

They continued the universe with Planes (which I really enjoyed and put on the same level as cars 1) and Planes Fire and Rescue which is a sort of spin off sequel on par with cars 2 so if your still wanting more and to see a bit more of the universe I'd recommend at least the first
Finally! I was excited for this reaction. This is my favourite film of the trilogy.
I mean he still won the race.
Found your channel looking for a Cars reaction last week. Watched 1&2 back to back. I was legit looking forward to this reaction. Thanks!
I would honestly like to see a Jackson Storm redemption arc
Watch My Adventures with Superman seasons 1-3.... they're actually really good!@@thecocoacouch
I never actually saw those movies but at least one of the trailers when I was a kid. Sounds interesting
Yes!
If you see cars meters tels. You see Skipa that old plan and His helper. Help meter fly. Think it's call mater flys
43:23 awesome,i knew that cool move would be put into play
32:43 Now that is more dangerous than tractor tipping. I bet Mater would have loved it.
17:57- Mcqueen: who's Hamilton?
also Mcqueen, last movie: Hey, Lewis!
real talk, it's my favorite out off the three.
Yeah, I too. That's us, who enjoy his reactions.
Every champion race car ends up having an accident. Hudson Hornet, Strip Weathers, Lightning McQueen
Not chick hicks
Oh, my gosh!! Was that “You drive like my brother” joke a CarTalk joke?!?! I JUST got that!! 😂
7:45 if you look closely they put a red flag on the race telling the racers to stop
I love this movie ❤
Hey Oscar...
Finished the entire series in one day
I love your reactions. Make me feel like I'm not alone. Thank you for your content
Mcqueen testing the racing simulator was actually inspired by an event where nascar veterans just couldn't get used to the it. a bit of a fun fact :)
Should’ve watched the first nascar pro invitational race in 2020
There's an excellent collection of shorts called Mater's Tall Tales, which is likely why Cars 2 focused more on Mater. It's a highly enjoyable watch.
I found out about your channel a few days ago and I love how you always see the details and I am really enjoying rewatching some of the movies from my childhood with you! I would love to see your reaction to the princess and the frog!
Finally!! I’m so excited to watch this later! You probably won’t see this but can you maybe react to the three Narnia movies soon?😁
i have watched your videos for a while now, i think you only had like 10k subs. i’m really proud of how much you’ve grown and i really love how emotionally invested you get into the movies, and it’s something i really relate to and why i like your channel so much. so excited whenever you upload!!
its refreshing to watch a reactor that genuinely goes into it with joy and pays attention and getting into it. most just sorta laugh or gasp and say stuff thats happening not actually contributing anything. but not you. its nice
The whole pranking part at the beginning is based on what real racecar drivers do in the pits with each other
Cars 3 is my favorite!!!!
29:14 That's Leory Heming!
I just love you’re smile & Energy you’re videos just make my day better keep up the amazing work ☺️
I was so invested in this film, and I started crying when I saw doc being so proud of lightning☺️
fun fact tho, some of those characters are based on real life race driver's cars, King from Dinoco is Richard Petty's Plymouth Superbird, Doc Hudson is the Hudson Hornet, Chick Hicks is a Buick Regal
Saw this movie in theaters a few months after my grandfather passed. Cried through the whole thing with my brother
This was THE proper sequel to Cars.
Respectful, meaningful and providing closure in so many ways.
now you have to watch DISNEY'S
Planes: Fire & Rescue (2013)
I forgot how much feels I get with Cars 3. I'll have to rewatch it properly sometime soon.
Will you react to Planes? I know a lot of people trash it, but I honestly really enjoyed it and I think it has some good messages in it ❤
43:11 OH YEAH BABY!!!!
You go so open into this, it is cool to see
7:18 If Doc Hudson was kept alive he'd care alot & be empathetic
I never comment but you picked up things that no reactor picks I loved that there was a comment similar to mine but still wanted to say you picked all things I did
Spoilers in case you haven't finished the movie dear reader.
32:00 Man, self-doubt is a funny thing. Right here Cruz already shows she can race. aside from her casually hitting 193 speed in her introduction
I love that Sally talks about Lighting getting that chance (around 08:20) and in the end he gives the chance to Cruz
i’m currently taking a breather from working on my masters thesis and i saw you came out with a new video. i’m not as stressed luckily but it’s always great to see you CC and it makes my day! looking forward to more of your videos! ❤
Your reactions are genuine indeed the cocoa couch i love it.🥰❤️😁👍
Here’s an idea for a film you can watch when Halloween comes.
Hotel Transylvania
Ok, QUESTION:
One of the McQueen's merchandises is a *grill.*
WHAT DOES THEY GRILL ?!?
They eat FUEL ! (and not with their mouths)
Does they also eat grilled car-animals?
41:36 That's Ray! He's Jackson Storm's Crew Chief!
I *love* the 3rd movie. This movie should serve as a How To, in terms of "passing the torch".
I’m so happy I got to see you react to these movies 🍿
I’d love to see you react to Batman vs Dracula movie, it’s a very underrated Batman movie that I believe was great and I’d love to see someone react to it and I think you would give a great reaction to the movie ❤
found you recently, these are super fun to watch. Jumping to your latest video to make two recommendations, sorry if I missed these in your playlist. Treasure Planet and The Black Cauldron are some underrated films that would be fantastic watches.
Final and great movie in this movie saga. It made me cry, and I love how they showed lightning's development and growth😊
I think you should watch "days of thunder"
I think you would like it
When that trailer for this movie came out, absolute shivers!
