I had one but got rid of it for the iPhone 6S and have since upgraded to the 7 Plus, I really regret getting rid of it.
i bought it used it for a week or so and just put it aside still have and it looks brand new till now but mine is white i think that looks way better

"why does blacberry exist in 2017?" cause people still use blackberry's. they are business phones. its the phone most government officials use cause its the most secured phone on the market. it has its purpose on the market. i JUST ordered the classic cause i honestly want to let go of my iphone and wasting so much time on social media. and it does what it needs to do. emails calls and texting. and if i need to pass some time youtube. ill keep my iphone at home as an ipod or only use social media at the end of my day. its got a place for people who still use it. austin is just a fucking sell out.
That's what i used to use my iphone for but even the social media apps i couldn't use because i'm so used to the keyboard so in February i bought the Priv for my birthday and it was the best decision ever, i will definitely be using the Priv for years because it's a great device, i think you will really enjoy the Classic, the battery is pretty big and will last a long time.

Yeap, if a cheaper phone I would have bought, it didn't need a super cpu or expensive bling blam, just fast enough, with up to date apps. I hope Nokia launches an updated cheap E72.

I was looking on ebay.it and i found passport's at 160-200 euros (that is a good price); but i thing i'll buy a Motorola Moto e2 as a second phone for 40 euros ( 2 days battery, dual sim, not the most advanced phone but for what i need is fine)
The Passport is a nice phone but the rear camera is quite shocking - more specifically the autofocus. Takes forever & is always incorrect. But hey! The rest of it is alright I guess heh.
(apart from the fact near enough every large android app dev is blacklisting their apps from working on BB10)

It really is a piece of art. I'd totally agree. BlackBerry10 OS was a piece of art as well. LOL. It's been 2 and a half years, my Passport has been thrown as well as fallen down numerous times. But, what a sturdy phone that is! Software is just the same. No lagging or freezing or crashing. I hope their Android phones are built the same way.
I really hope Blackberry make their android version as good as BB10....too bad it released late, that software and gestures are bomb. its organic too. and form what I hear easy to develop apps for or import from android but there isnt that much interest from developers as the market hit isnt big anymore.

I'm with you. I previously owned a "big screen" phone for Internet and photos but used a nokia Asha for texts and calls. Now I have a Q5 and I can't believe I've used anything else all my life!

This applies to any modern iPhone (SE, 6s and up), mind you those examples are at $350-450 range, they aren't expensive for what you're getting, hardware (the A chips from Apple are leaps beyond Qualcomm's Snapdragon) beyond what the competition had at the time, still competitive today (unlike previous Qualcomm chips) still just as snappy today as the day they came out and just as usable as their newest flagships, I had 2 bad experiences with Samsung phones & tablets, one lagged like a MF after a year or so and the other started having flashes across the screen and shut down very frequently, also after a year... presumably because that $400 tablet overheated like a MF, not again. I know the S8 is pretty and all, but that's a huge gamble for me at this point that I'm not willing to make.

The Passport is an absolute BEAST of a phone. If they release one with updated specs i.e. Android Nougat, 4-6GB Ram, 32GB + expandable, snapdragon 821, upgraded camera and a battery in the 3600mAh battery + range.....I'd happily give BB my money for that.

the real phone is passport, it is the ULTIMATE phone for businessmen, my first smartphone was the bb 9900, although i don't use a blackberry currently (because it is not directly available in my country), i would like to use a passport as soon as it is available.

tbh, priv seems pretty cool. imo, the sliding physical keyboard thingy makes it unique. the bb torch 9900 was my first ever phone, so i think you can see why i would like the priv. i really would love a priv 2 but sadly blackberry has stopped making phones and has moved to software. but the phones are still getting produced day by day.
Looking forward to KeyOne. I believe the keyboard is useful and desired by many.

BB makes unique good quality phones and just good build ,Android helps on the os part, because of more app support(I guess I don't use many apps) and honestly I like it because it's very unique durable and I like physical keyboard phones

You mention that the touch screen negates the touch pad but I'd argue it's useful to have access to swipe controls without the risk of clicking something if it lags and doesn't register the whole swipe

I remember my first Blackberry! I had the Storm 2 when it came out, was also my first smart phone. I hated that phone so much. It was slow, sluggish, confusing. I hated how when you pressed on the screen (full touch screen) the entire screen clicked in some form of haptic feed back. It's strange, when I saw blackberry I wanted to so much, but I couldn't handle that phone. Later, I replaced it with the LG Scoop. And to this day, that's still one of my favorite phones. I still miss the slide out keyboard at times. Now I have the galaxy s8+ and happy with it :)

Raphaël Khoury u cant update os6 directly. u should connect to pc and u should download blackberry desktop software and blackberry swiss army software.now download unofficial os6 software and wipe out phone through swiss army software and install os6 using swiss army software.i did it but u once see video and under stand clearly before doing it.it very critical process.something wrong in installing os6 ur phone wont work
I am Rocking a BB Passport, and would not give it up any time soon!!! Amazing battery life (2 days plus), multitasking like a boss and the keyboard is so much easier to type on than a screen keyboard!
2days? mine only last 5 to 6hrs with just 50% screen brightness using WiFi browsing facebook and chat. to me battery on this phone was not impresive and it was really slow to charge. without the updated facebook app/chat/youtube app this phone was unusable of course I do have cobalt google playstore but still those 3 that I mentioned doesn't work. now I'm stuck using old versio of youtube,messenger, and a slow third party paid facebook app from blackberry word.
Mine lasts two days, too. Check your device monitor to see what is draining the battery -- that isn't right.

Just bought Passport two days ago and I think its great! Used to have BB Q5. I was running Android 4 before buying the Q5, but now I really don't want to get back to phone without a physical keybord or the BB Hub.

my first phone was a samsung flip phone. at 2007. when i became older i had more friends. and texting was really important for me. so my dad bought myself a blackberry phone. i was really quick with it. and it had a good battery. and i also used it as an mp3 to listen music in the bus. later i got a samsung galaxy S3 mini. and now i have a huawei Nova 2.
I'm in 2020, and I still kinda want the BlackBerry Priv. It's really cool
The Passport was a phone I always wanted and still want today. I just can't bring myself to get it because it's still around $200 today, though that isn't the worst considering the unique features it has (I personally like the keyboard and square screen). Also, it can run full Android apps, because as far as I know the Blackberry OS it's running is pretty much a custom ROM of Android anyhow, so you can install the Google Play APK on it.

Just picked up the Blackberry Dtek 60 and although the phone is decent enough, I do miss the BB10 OS from my Z30 and Z10 prior to that. Bit of a learning curve I suppose, but at least it has the Hub and good security, so for me that makes it worthwhile as I don't need much outside of that.

If I was to get an Android, I would get a Blackberry Priv....i've been a fan of Blackberry for years. The Blackberry Torch is my favorite "classic" one and I did own and use both the Blackberry Z10 and Q10 phones. I also have the Blackberry Playbook tablet (which, other than app support, is a DAMN good tablet...)...(Although, I am sure my avatar on here shows that I like Blackberry)

I've owned every one of these phones, only complaints I had are dtek50s battery was meh, the priv's front facing camera was meh and if you own the passport silver edition it's heavy as fook. There are way worse phones out there blackberry gets a bad rap cuz it was such a giant years ago and maybe rightfully so. However points have to be given for staying alive when you were inches from death.

When I was about 12 or 13, pretty much everyone in my class had a blackberry curve and I really wanted one too, but never got one. I had to settle for the Blackberry Messenger app on my crappy android

pp is an awesome phone in 2017, even I have 6sp ,and 7p.I want to use the it, and have already bought 2 ,which are pp and q20.
I had the passport. Really liked it except it was a bit of struggle to put in a front pocket and I got fed up with the lack of app support. Went to the S6 after that which was alright, it had a great camera, battery life was always very poor by comparison and it eventually crapped out on me. Now I have the Keyone and love it.
Lol I just bought a passport. I really like it :). It feels super high quality and I really like BB10. Does Blackberry even make their own OS anymore? If not its a real shame, I like BB10 A LOT better than Android. I like the unusual design of the phone and it draws a lot of attention... everyone asks me about it. In fact more people ask me about my damn blackberry more than any iphone, android or Windows device Ive ever owned. I can see why BB fans love this phone so much. It is really cool and has some unique features and awesome video quality. I think Im going to hang on to this one for a while.

I hated the way you just dissed the Security features of BlackBerry, right from Priv they have worked ground up on security and the DTEK security thing is a big deal. What Google has started doing with Nougat, they have been doing from Priv release with their devices and even at hardware level. The hardware level security is important because recently we read S7 and other Samsung devices have been shipped with malware at some manufacturing level that Samsung was unaware of.
And yes I would love to buy a blackberry but at that specs they are $100 more than they should be.
