Damn, I remember my Palm Pixi. I legitimately loved that phone. Web OS was seriously ahead of it's time multi taking wise.
i still have my palm pre in mint condition charging on the touch stone. loved web os and the pre. bought 2 touchpads in the fire sale. That no longer runs webos

I have literally never wanted to win a competition more. The Pixi Plus is literally the only phone I have missing from my webOS collection. I have the Pre, Pre Plus, Pre 2, Pre 3, Pixi, Veer, Touchpad, Touchpad Go, but no Pixi Plus. webOS was such an under appreciated operating system and I still love it to this day. 😢

Palm started portable computing. iOS was designed by the person who did Palm OS and they share a lot of similarities. webOS had a ton of revolutionary ideas that were really ahead of its time (could argue it was its downfall), with those now being used as major components of both Android and iOS. Multitasking and search were a chore on both OS in 2009, while Palm solved both problems.
All TCL is gonna do is turn it into another generic budget Smartphone brand hoping to fetch some initial sales from name equity. What made Palm special is gone.

I loved these Palm devices, the keyboard they came with was great and they had the WebOS software built into them which was probably my favorite operating system ever because of how simple it was.

I had the Palm Pre on Sprint. Loved that phone, I wanted their tablet. It was a sad day when HP killed off the tablet. I recall entering the Contra code to "unlock" the phone. I had an onscreen keyboard when I unlocked it, and it was terrible. I went through a few of them, one was water damage the other the GPS wouldn't work.

I had a Palm pre and had wireless charger with it. That was the first with wireless charging. I loved mine!!
I actually owned one of these. I really liked it. It was my second smartphone, my first being a BlackBerry curve. It worked great, and I had it for a year or two. I went through several of those battery covers though, because the rubber tended to peel off after a while of caring it in my pocket. It was also the first phone that I know of that could charge wirelessly, and I had the wireless charger for it.

maan, i remember my first smartphone. T-Mobile Vairy Text II. It was almost the same as this one, only it ran Mtk operating system. When i got it i was blown away by the fact that it had WiFi and native facebook and twitter apps, lol. These gadgets really were huge things back in the days.
i loved my little palm pre in 6th grade, the one that slided. Now i have the iphone.

My first "smartphone" was an iPod touch 4th gen and I loved that thing. I still have it in the closest somewhere but it isn't very functional. You can still download old apps on it, but the camera quality is what you'd expect, and web browsing barely works. 2013 Twitter runs on it though, so that's a plus! Looking back on it today, it really seems odd that this once amazed us, and now it's sitting in the closet.
