It’s worse when they treat that person better than you.. opened up to them and did things with them that they didn’t do with you.. I feel awful. I was with him for 9 years and were just 3 months shy from a year of the break up. So I guess it’s not that soon after,but he said he met her this year online and became friends so how soon after did he really move on,but maybe he moved on probably when we’re still together.
In my experience they never leave unless they have someone else lined up.

YES! I’m going through the same thing right now. I couldn’t even get an ounce of the respect he’s giving someone else. It was rough. It feels like a second betrayal but I know it isn’t so I try to shut those feelings out. But it’s still hard.

I mean how can you digest the fact that once they were with you and now they moved on with someone elese and you are still struggling to move on. This is the best video i saw on the topic. I broke up with my ex a few months ago because it was just not working out, we both knew in the end. We are part of the same large friend group so we see eachother quite often. I don't want him back but I still hold our time together very dear. He told me he met somebody new and though I'm really happy for him because he deserves all good things at the moment it still hurts and I can't help being a little envious. This hits me hard. I moved on for 2 years and suddenly I saw him active on the app again when he was inactive for the past 2 years after we ended things. It's a weird thing knowing that there is no way I can get back with my ex-girlfriend, but at the same time, it really did sting seeing her post a pic on social media of her with another guy out on a date.
It's been 3 years since we broke up and the mistake i made was i didn't follow no contact and i was following them on social media, she used to contact me when she needed emotional support, all this hindered my moving on process. And unfortunately I'm still counting the day.
