USSR: 340 nukes
USA:5000 nukes because Amuurica
American Tanker Funny, since the USSR was reported to have more nukes than the US.
Hard to believe, Sir.
I pro The USA from I was at pimary school. Thai people were indoctrinated by every government then we hated Communism as it was a satan killing Buddhist monks by hammers seen in the
the cinema in school field . The US Army helped Thailand in various ways e.g. road construction and school buildings in poor rural areas under the name " Friendship " such as Friendship high ways, Friendship Schools, and Peace Corps during the periods of JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY PRESIDENT OF USA
FIELD MARSHAL SARIT THANARAT OF THAILAND. Khonkaen University (KKU) The first Rural/Provincial University of Thailand established by Field Marshal Sarit Thanarat but very few graduates from this University appreciated his goodness regarded him a dictator. That is sad story . Moreover, Thailand was in peace the hoodlums punished putting in jails/prisons. The first degree criminals shot dead . The people were ears and eyes completely closed from from the knowledges of the Iron Curtain The USSR. But we have known the truth about him when we have seen The USSR IS THE FIRSTEVER WHO REACH THE MOON,NOT THE USA. BOTH USA AND THE USSR HAVE NUKES IN THEIR HANDS . IF THE world war 3 broke out, no one wins, not the two countries destroyed but this entire planet world must be absolutely destroyed. Few living things can live but the lives not normal , if remains their mutations are sure to be drastically changed. I love Amerca but I have changed my mind since our beloved President KENNEDY was brutally assinated by the devils he not was given justice no trial but the case closed and coverup continues up so far even the assassination of his son and brother- JFK Jr., RBK . The USA is not democratic but mafia.
🙄
Soviets actually had way more nukes throughout most of the Cold War, more than we did.
@@niyomphusopha5375 Alright
How about doing the Vietnam War then the Soviet War in Afghanistan next. Then maybe the end of the Cold War and the Dissolution of the USSR.
I fear it's going to be highly scrutinised since it's 'recent events'. Meaning it's still used by politicians to boost their agendas today, so historic truth is at question.
AKartashev Saying that history is political is true, but it should not deter us from exploring it. if we were to do so, nothing since medieval times would be safe to discuss. Take for instance did USA or the USSR make the greatest contribution in the fight against Fascism/Nazism? This is still very politically loaded question, since there is a huge amount of Prestige and ideological creditbillity to be called the #1 anti-fascist. ( Putin uses his own conception of Russia's huge role in the fight against Nazi Germany to justify his current stance towards the Maidan Ukraine government)
Frederik sh >Saying that history is political is true, but it should not deter us from exploring it.
Of course, but exploring it without significant base knowledge is enforsing somebody else's political agendas further
> Take for instance did USA or the USSR make the greatest contribution in the fight against Fascism/Nazism?
This whole question is creating controversy and conflict by just existing there and being asked. My take is that the victory is common between all nations who defeated the Axis, no matter how big or small.
Trying to argue 'who did more' is just political revanshism, there's someone's personal interest behind it, not a historical research interest. We did our own parts that are different, I don't think when a sports team wins a championship they argue who did more and who deserves or doesn't deserve a medal - all players get medals and celebrate together.
That's why when somebody tries to belittle or contest the contribution of any nation in the victory like some far right rehabilitationst groups or nationalist governments, they aim at rewriting history to their benefit, nothing else.
> Putin uses his own conception of Russia's huge role in the fight against Nazi Germany to justify his current stance towards the Maidan Ukraine government
Never seen him doing it

So basically America putting nukes in Turkey was perfectly fine but when the Soviet’s put nukes in Cuba the USSR was the aggressor
10/10 logic
lol I'm not exactly going to defend the US because there is a lot of shitty things that we've done but it was announced globally that we were putting nukes there, the Russians snuck the nukes into Cuba
Additionally, nukes in Russia and Ukraine were a direct threat to NATO forces. Even Short range missiles had the capbility of reaching critical infrastructure in western Europe. Americans had no such reach without resorting to air power (which the Soviets also had), sea power (which the soviets also had) or long range missiles. If I do a tally real quick, that gave the USSR a tactical advantage over the U.S. The decision to place nukes there was a logical next step in the progression of the Cold War, albeit an extremely dangerous one.
@@Mythyc jajajajaj siempre culpan a los demas. Murica is forever agresor of the free world
@@cuentaprincipal3225 found tankie
Didn't the Americans sneak nukes beside China to point at china and not tell us for a few decades? Also, the USSR did send two letters telling America to move da nukes in turkey and they'd do the same with Cuba, they ignored both and then decided to agree once they gave up
1:42 I do not envy you for having to draw that.
He wastes so much time on drawings that only appear for 3 frames
thats why this channel is quality over quantity.

Absolutely fantastic. I wish there were vids like this for every major conflict and even current international affairs that would be difficult to understand if you haven't been consistently following the events. Would love to see the Vietnam "conflict" and possibly even the wars in the middle east. You've got a subscriber!
I really enjoy this docu-tubes that you make. So much information in so little time. The cartoons are funny with their myopic eyes. Suggestions: The annexation of Hawaii, or Alaska, the mexican revolution, the Spanish Civil war, the scramble for Africa, Operation Cóndor, the Berlin Wall.
Very helpful! Thanks a lot :D
one does not get enough of this series
your channel is awesome!
Dear Mr Ruddy,
we dealt with this video in our history class. I appreciate all the effort that you put into your work. Your video was very informative and I learned a lot about the Cuban Missile Crisis. The only thing that could possibly improve the educational benefits of your video would be a slower pace of reading since it was sometimes quite difficult to follow your narration. Keep up the good work!
1:09 That is the cutest dog I've ever seen!
Learned more in this video than I have in an entire semester in a college world history class. Great job!
Dear Mr Ruddy, a million thanks on behalf of my IGCSE students. They absolutely adore your videos! I too, of course. You've done the seemingly impossible, namely summarizing all relevant (dry) topics and presenting them in such an entertaining fashion that we end up truly informed and entertained and amazed. That is exactly what students nowadays need...
Please, on behalf of my students here in Malaysia, keep on doing your amazing work. You may have realized that UA-cam subtitles are always HORRIBLE. Since most of my students are not English native speakers, it is quite hard for them to follow you. Is there any way to have someone else do the subtitles?
Bless you, always. You are an inspiration, for all of us out there looking for instructional resources online. You are a goldmine!

If you ever get a 4 mark question about what happened during the Bay of Pigs Invasion, write this:
On 17th April 1961, 1400 CIA-trained Cuban exiles were sent to Cuba in an attempt to reclaim Cuba from Castro. The attack ended in less than 72 hours as they were outnumbered by Castro's men. Most were either captured or killed.
(This really applies to OCR, by the way. Not really too sure about AQA, Edexcel etc.)

It's like every scene from 13 Days was translated in illustrations. I love it.
Hello Mr. Ruddy,
I've dealt with the Cuban Missile Crisis in history class and we watched your video. I think it is a good video to have an overview of the events. Furthermore, the illustration is a lovely idea to entertain the viewer and keep them interested, which also has an educational function! I would suggest to take more time for the videos because it is sometimes hard to follow all the information put in 5 minutes. All in all, a good job !
Holy shit the X men first class movie did their homework.
I swear these are what are going to help me pass my junior cert!
Hi Mr. Ruddy,
I really like your viedo. You mentioned all important facts about the Cuban Missile Crisis and your visuals helped to understand the conflict. Further, I think it is good that you mentioned what happend before and after the crisis to get an better overview about the things which led to the crisis and which followed after the crisis. However, it was sometimes hard to follow because you spoke a bit too fast and the visuals changed too fast and too often.
All in all you made a good video!
okay I love this p.s why does your sketches look so much like the real people lol
start makin videos more often these vids are amzin and helped me a lot
You’re actually helping me with my GCSE’s lol, make more please! 🙏

0:13 Egypt and Iraq were never communist. They may have had better relations with USSR than with US. But they were never communist countries.
Exactly
Egyptian president Gamel abdul Nasser was very pro-Soviet and received Soviet aid to build the Aswan Dam. But that changed after Nasser's death in 1970. The new president Anwar Sadat told Soviet envoys to pack up their bags and go, he had them expelled. Egypt was no longer a Soviet client. Sadat wanted better relations with the United States, the USSR's Cold War enemy and Israel, Egypt's neighbor and long time enemy to the east. Iraq received military aid from the Soviet Union in it's war with Iran (1980-88). But during Operation Desert in 1991, the USSR remained neutral and took no sides, neither Iraq nor the United States and it's allies. Incidentally Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's hero was Joseph Stalin.

Great vid, thanks! Would love to see more on the cold war. The history of the GDR for example?
Videos I would like to see added to this already great collection: The American Revolution, War of 1812, Spanish-American War, The Suez Crisis, Yugoslav Wars 1990's-2001, and The Russian Revolution.
I have my history GCSEs soon thanks
This was very helpful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Russia : *builds base near America*
America : They want to attack us! Threaten war!
*40 years later*
Russia : Why are you Americans building bases right up against our border..?
America : What did you say? Russian aggression! More sanctions!
This is the logic of America.
Jack Lennox: Your right, Russia was just building a base. It's not like they were using the base so they have first strike capabilities against the US with their tactical nukes.
And thank goodness. No one likes Russia xD
You're Definitely A Russian Paid Troll
Trgov no they're not. Literally they're not China. Give a few years, will become the biggest military AND economic power. Plus Russia has more nuclear weapons
@@saucydaddy6931 America is the most powerful country. Russia has more nukes but America has the best trained military in the world and the best airforce and navy. China just has a massive military not a well trained one.
I loved this video. I used it with my history class.
I love these videos make more please
could you do some of these on the USA 1919-41 and British society 1931-51 please, this would really help mine and many others GCSE's as i found these videos extremely useful and helpful!!!

These are great! Informationally dense & a riot to boot!. My one quibble is some of your toss-out jokes flit by so quickly, I have to rewind them a couple of times to read them. Worth the effort, but an additional beat or two in showing would be appreciated...☺️
This video saved me on my history exam, thank you :-)
I am prepared to wait for my answer until hell freezes over
