    Gotta say mate, you make top videos. I really enjoy watching them when I'm supposed to be working...
    I love the way you don't faff around talking in circles. No wasted words, and all very informative, I'd easily recommend you to any rc newbie.
    Actually I'm an rc newbie, and would love to see a "Matteos rc for dummies."
    Please keep it going, love the channel, thank you.

    What a coincidence it is that I just bought a cc01 chassis. Still learning its ways! Awesome upgrade although it adds more surface area on the bottom of the rear axle. Very nice scale chassis!

    Hi Matteo, another excellent video, love the yeah racing upgrades.
    I treated my cc01 to the ultimate upgrades I can find. I got it from Taiwan, complete front end, including actual brake hubs and the complete rear end, axle with lockable diff, 4 link suspension, brake drums, etc everything needed to make it a roller, except shocks. It's been on 2 years now and is weathering up nicely. It was quite expensive, but really worth it.
    I love the CC01S, my favourite off road vehicle, and now that they are doing proper life like rc trailing and not the ridiculous rock crawling class in the off road events, I would take my CC01 and join in now, especially with the alloy upgrades, makes the playing field a bit more even.
    Well, loved the video, looking forward to seeing what you get up to with the body, and see the running video. Oooooh yeeaaaahhhh 😎 👍 👍 👍 👍

    That's the nicest steering bellcrank I've seen for the CC-01. I've tried several in mine in attempt to reduce the slop, and the YR seems to be the tightest of them all. Thanks for sharing Matteo!

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  6 років тому

      Yes, it,s not bad. But as I said in the video there is still slop on it. For me this is acceptable. And the bearings save from worn out the parts. Thanks Fil!

    Very nice! I like the steering rack it has full bearings on all moving parts Unlike the GPM one with bushings I have on mine that now got a lot of slop from the 2 brass bushings that ride in the aluminum that wore out a bunch now.

    • @jmracer86
      @jmracer86 6 років тому +4

      GPM is garbage, bought the steering rack from them and it was worse than the original tamiya plastic ones.

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC 6 років тому

      That's weird mine was good took a lot of slop out but over the years got a lot of slop because they did not use bearings in the lower rack.

    • @bretb9127

    have you ever put a gear reduction on a CC-01 chassis? , they seem to be geared too high for crawling, I installed a hpi 7 to 1 gear reduction unit and its too low

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  6 років тому

      No, never installed these reduction gears. I manage the problem with the high gearing with use of motors with many turns. On my Pajero I've installed a 45 turn motor and it works perfect, even for slow crawling.

  • @RS2_73

    Matteo, what is your opinion on how the front suspension and steering compares to the GPM you installed on one of your other cars? Better than the GPM?

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  6 років тому

      The quality of the parts is better on the Yeah Racing parts. GPM needs a bit of modifications to fit perfect. Not so big difference when both are correct installed.

    Nice conversion. Does fitting bearing races make the chassis less reliable if wading, are plastic bushes better for wading/water?

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  3 роки тому +1

      Basically yes, but it exists also sealed bearings and with good maintenance the ball bearings are also no problem.
      Because ball bearings have so much advantages!

      @musoseven8218 3 роки тому +1

    How is the steering compared to the GPM? Any fitment issues or slop? The GPM one is garbage and I am thinking of using the YeahRacing set up instead but I'm afraid the quality might be just as bad. Wish Tamiya had a hop up for this.

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  6 років тому +1

      The quality of the parts is better as the GPM. There is still a bit slop on it (I think because of too much links in this steering setup) but the bearings helps a lot.

  • @NeoJ4K3
    @NeoJ4K3 3 роки тому +1

    Do you recommend the 4 link rear end or the RC Stroke Extension links from Tamiya themselves?

    • @Matteomeier

      The Stroke extension gives much more articulation. But you can combine the two, four link suspension plus stroke extension.

      This parts are not compatible with G6-01. Maybe Yeahracing release somthing similar for the G6 chassis in the future.

  • @uncletom1971

    And, have you also tried Tamiya's "TGS" series glow-engine cars? Would you please give me your opinion on them?

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  5 років тому

      No, never. At this time I think there is no need for this glow engines. These are difficult to adjust, not easy to handle and dirty. Brushless motors with lipo batteries have more power and are much easier and clean as well.
      And Tamiya TGS is an very old platform, I think they are not longer in production, so the spare parts availability will be difficult.

    • @uncletom1971
      @uncletom1971 5 років тому +1

      I see. Thanks. I was a little curious about the TGS platform. But as you say today electric power is equal or better. Also the fuel engines sound too much, can't drive them late at night around populated areas.

      Yes, but use medium strength, this is possible to loosen again. It exist very strong ones, with this it's not possible to loosen the screws again. And this is not good.

      Tamiya released a lot of bodies for the CC-01 chassis. If you like you can customize it:
