I’m 29 asian girl :) For me, reducing caffeine and drinking more warm water with herb (not cold water), less salty and less sweet food and keeping my stomach warm(hot pack) during the period are really helpful for me. I hope these tips help other girls too 🤗

I think it's important to note that everyone is different. One of my friends doesn't suffer from pms and her periods are painless. I eat doughnuts and instant ramen, watch sad movies, cry, feel sorry for myself, get a monstrous pimple on my face and pop painkillers in my mouth like candy. Im 47, I've learnt over the years that this is my normal. But it takes time to learn how to read the signs your body gives you, especially that, like you said, school doesn't teach you those things. So take care of yourselves girls and treat yourselves with kindness xx

Hi Anna, I want to say thank you for talking about this. I am 26 years old and ever since I was a teenager i suffered from really bad PMS. My emotions were all over the place and I felt like every month there was a dark cloud over me and many physical symptoms. I kept telling the doctors that it happened before my period and they kept saying nothings wrong. Finally one doctor told me about PMDD. I take medication for this and honestly its been a lifesaver and have been cycle syncing and the week before my period i make sure to not overplan and go inwards with myself. Your videos have helped so much. sending lots of love

At this Time i got my First period and everything at me started to change… i was always stressed with scool and the people in scool made me Act like sb who wasn‘t really me ( in that makes Sense)
But your Videos always make me feel Calm and relaxed. I‘ve changed Many Things in my life (like eating healthier and make More Sport). THANK YOU SOO MUCH for your real and relate able Videos and all the Work you put in These. Love you ❤❤❤😊 ( and Sorry for the Many wrong spelled words)

Omg thank you for talking openly about it. I have the same issues, my mood is out of place, feeling mostly sad, and tired. And it hurts for a day or two.
I did lose my periods 2 years ago when losing a lot of weight, not nourishing my body, . I got them back when eating more, trying carnivore diet. But i gained a lot of weight. Because of my work stressing me out. You are so right that we should be careful about stress, and listen to our body ! I am trying to getting back into shape, and your tips and advices are inspiring.
I wish society, companies would consider that women have their periods, and it can be stressful on the body.
I love your way of telling your story, you’re truly an inspiration! Thank you Anna !

It's so true that we are all different and there's no fixed rule to follow that applies to all women when on your period. For example I don't have a super painful period but I do feel at my worst during PM phase.
I have such a strong and uncomfortable PMS, where I get sore in my lower back/breast (it depends on the months), bloated, tired, hungry all the time and with tangible munchies... that when the period starts is a sort of liberation to me. I have cramps, of course, but I feel slowly detoxed🦋

Dear Anna, don't even know where to start. First of all, you are an inspiration to me. It was so good to hear your thoughts about our cycle and how this impacts not only us, but also the world around us. I think videos like these are very important, because we have to manifest again and again that people with periods sometimes struggle and don't "function" the way our rather masculin socitey expects us to and that that is fine! So thank you for your view on this. :)
I also want to share my experience, maybe this helps someone. I am 28 and still learning so much. Personally, I have bad cramps the first day of bleeding which I am sometimes a bit scared of, not because of the pain itself, but about not being able to take care of myself when I am having a job related appointment or something similar. It got to the point when I almost fainted once beause I pushed through the pain, which I am sure would not have happened had I just stayed in bed that day and taken care of myself. But I just did not want to make things "complicated" for others and postpone the appointment. I think it would be so helpful if the people around us made more space for these instances; for us to feel safe even if we cancel some appointment because yes, we sometimes need to take a step back and yes, it is (for most) on a regular basis and yes, we do deserve it!
I also experience mood swings the week before my period. Since I started tracking my cycle, incl. measuring my temperature and other symptoms every day, I am always aware of where I am at in the current cycle and can safely determine that I might be in a bad mood because it's that phase of the cycle. It also helps a bit with determining when the bleeding will start, at least to around 1 or 2 days. I do it following NFP (Natürliche Familien Planung). I am also having good experiences incorporating ginger to my diet the week before my period, it helps me with PMS and nausea on the first day of bleeding.

Hi Anna❤ its a bliss to watch you and discuss topics we women don't talk about much openly. Here is a small tip from my side which actually helped me relax a bit from the effects of hormonal change during periods :
Please never wash hair during the first 3 days as it hampers the flow resulting in cramps and more mood swings and eat much boiled veggies and lentils as its easy to digest.
    Lots of love from Köln

    Hey there! Thanks for sharing!
I love the simple and music free vlog, definitely feels more like interactive.
Additionally, all that you mentioned, the bloating, the mood swings, the chaotic house /mind is spot on from what i've been going through. I too went to the doctor and only got the recommendation to take birth control and ssri's, which if you need to go for it...but like you said, that's not a natural way to deal with it. I think we all want a simple/clean options. Our luteal phase is just testing us hahah. My PMS is the worst then. This year after discovering what my PMS Is I decided to take on some changes. This is what has been working for me.
    1. Eat more consistently-high protein &fiber & dark chocolate when you start getting agitated.
    2. Like you said, if you are high energy, go hard , if not , then relax or go for a walk.
    3. Limiiittttt social media. There is nothing worse than feeling worse about yourself and then comparing and watching crap on social media.
    4. Increase magnesium glypysate for better nights rest. It has provided best relaxation and sleep before bed.
    5. Get a good 8 hours of sleep.
    6. Don't overwhelm yourself with plans. Give this time to work on yourself and activities that you like.
    7. Limit coffee , maybe start with tea or something lighter in caffine.
    Hope this helps!

I'm in the same train with you Anna, you're not alone. Before 3-5 days and during the period I feel so tired, sad, always feel like crying, feel like whole universe is against me, noone understands me and forget about balance diet which I try to follow on a regular basis. I am always so hungry during those days.
Until few months back I used to think that those things are happening only with me becaue noone talks openly about all the symptoms. Women should come out and talk about this topic openly. Atleast we'll feel that we are not alone.
I feel a little relief when my periods starts. My period days are not that painful like those 3-5 days before it comes. I have sore breast, my thighs, lower abdomen and waist pains a lot. I become so cranky.

I never had too many issues, apart from a very bloated feeling. This resolved itself when I started a low carb diet a few yrs ago. On months when my carbs are low, I don’t have any issues - no fatigue, cramps, bloating, etc. So these days I ensure I eat low carb at least 2 weeks before my period starts, which I don’t mind at all - I LOVE this way of eating. What works for me may not work for you though, but worth a try if it means no more low energy cycles!

I had the same situation than you at your workout and totally messed up an exam... Some hours later my period started and I knew what happened. I hate it. Since that I'm afraid about getting symptoms (blackout or low energy) during an important presentation in front of a crowd or on a customer meeting which is planned months in advance... I feel strange to ask my male colleague or my boss if he could be my backup if it happens. This feels so weak. 😢
I try to avoid important stuff around this time or stay at home. Some days before I use some anti acne products to prevent pimples. I also change my diet the days before and try to eat food which is easy to process for the stomach and drink a lot of water. The day before my period and the first day of it are cheat days for me. I eat whatever I crave. 😅
    I love your honesty ❤

Hey Ana! I’ve moved to Berlin 6 months ago and I don’t know why, but yes I lost my period. I think my hormones are all messed up due to the stress of finding an apartment here. I’ve tried to look for ginecologists and endocrinologists, but I guess the good ones are booked up.

omg but it’s NOT embarrassing!!! it’s okay, some days are better, others are not ❤️ you are only competing against yourself, and needing a break when you do a workout is so okay! I also need that reminder sometimes ❤️❤️

That happened to me yesterday. It was my first day of my period and I wasn't able to workouts without breaks. It was a pilates workout that I had already done before quite effortlessly. My energy was just so low. I was a bit disappointed but I've decided to be good with myself and told myself that I was proud 🥰❤️

I also get really bad digestive issues. It is really common due to the rise and drop in hormones. What has helped me is kombucha and pineapple juice. Sometimes I will drink them on their own or mix them together. Pineapple juice has made a huge difference. I also drink raspberry tea leaf. That helps too. In addition to help with the extreme bloat, I will lay in bed with a heating pad and take Aleve if I just can’t seem to get rid of the bloat. I also try to help my mood by listening to upbeat music and watching shows that will cheer me up. For me, it’s Sex and the City. Doing what comforts me helps during that time. ❤

For PMS I love motherwort tincture and raspberry leaf tea. I’ve also been learning to not engage in serious conversations or make big plans or assessments of myself during this time. I also plan less. Maybe don’t film anything major during this time 🙏🏼 💕

Hi Anna! I really love your honesty and way of life. Always thinking things through. Avoid dairy products and other animal products a week before your period. I found that animal products worsen pms symptoms. Rather have lentils, nuts, tofu, beans and legumes as protein sources. Also try to include cold pressed flaxseed oil everyday. Wonderful way to balance and feed your hormones. Try and cut down on the coffee, it is really not good for your hormones, especially not first thing in the morning. Save it for special occasions.

Hi Anna! Your videos have really inspired me and I love it! I have been having some trouble with my period and hormones and I was wondering if you had any advice? I haven’t had a normal period for the past 8 months now and I thought it was because I was under eating and working out too much and I got scared so I slowed down and I am eating more now in a balanced way and I have stopped restricting my self so much and I have been working out less. But my period still isn’t coming and I am not sure why or if I maybe need to be more patient. Do you have any advice? Thank you so much ❤

    • @annaengelschall
      @annaengelschall  17 днів тому +1

I can’t really give you individual advice here, and I have to mention that the best is always to see a doctor 🥹 eating enough and working out in a healthy and balanced way is super important, but there’s so much more that can have an impact on your hormones: not sleeping enough, being constantly stressed, traveling, drinking too much caffeine.. ❤️

    Hi Anna,
thank you so much for your words. Young girls need to hear that it's normal to have all this struggle and confusing emotions.
    Anna❤

Hello Anna! I have a question about your company! Do you ship wordwide? Because on your website it indicates that it is only on European countries, but then, i can choose the pay in Canadian dollars. If i go to checkout I actually can put my adress and info concerning Canada. So im really confused about the fact that if you ship here or not? Love you so so so much, you literally changed my life ❤
