To avoid your air filter to be dirty just at the end of the plastic tube, cut by about half of an inch the tip of that plastic tube for a better air flow. And better than that, just get a pre-filer, so easy to maintenance and clean
I am french and have a T7 extreme too, be careful the camel one finger clutch doesn’t mount if you have the yamaha oem crashbars, you need a shorter version because it touches it. I got mine on aliexpress for 15 bucks and works great.
That's funny - I also commented on another video about how great it would be to know what you've done to your T7 and thankfully I came across this video. Thank you again for your great content and excellent and unbiased approach to reviews, we appreciate it.
I commented in another video that it would be helpful to see a full list of upgrades. Well, I watched a bunch of your videos and here I am. Haha. Thank you so much for your videos man. It's exactly the content i've been looking for.
Yes we got cheezed on the short travel compared to some other D,p bikes. Now they have the extreme models, with longer travel and so much can be done about weight my opinion should have been done yes ago. They came out in 2018 I think
I had the same fear about the front crash bar mount under the headlight so I ditched the crash bars for aftermarket plastics and mounted bags directly to the plastics
Nice bike. Just an FYI, aluminum footpegs are a horrible idea, alluminum does not bend, it snaps off. You could have microscopic fractures in those footpegs and someday they will jsut snap off, could kill you. Always use oem steel or titanium footpegs.
If you’re going to upgrade your seat at some point, take a look at the Sargent seats. They’re well worth the money! And when/if you upgrade to full exhaust, HP corse full titanium is the bees knees. Crazy how much weight savings there is and got the full exhaust (headers and all) for under $750 I think?
@@AdventureTomek I haven’t but have been tempted to. Although I haven’t noticed any difference whatsoever power wise. Ran the whole IDBDR last year no hiccups whatsoever! But I would be willing to bet if I reflashed the ECU, I’d probably squeeze another 5-10hp or so outta the motor.
Your T-7 is looking mean! Love the Camel ADV parts. I'm gathering a bunch of their products for my T-7. If someone has a first Gen 890 Adventure, the Camel ADV Neck Brace is a mandatory piece of kit to stabilize/reinforce the headlight/windshield cluster. Their skid plate was sold out , so I'm going to give Molecule Motorsports a go. I don't think I'll end up going with a full exhaust system but I think I will go with the high pipe to protect the swingarm.
Nice list, and all nice upgrades! I have a bunch of stuff from Camel ADV.....would like more!! Asked you about those Ride-It levers on an earlier video, still need to make that happen! Ride hard....ride safe!!🤘
That is a good bit of work you've done. I really like the crash bars and how they protect all that up top like that. I can see how your talking about the shifting if a hard enough hit though. Hopefully you get a lot of use out of it this year!
@@AdventureTomek they don’t make an FZ09 anymore and most people get the twitchy throttle flashed out of the ECU. Mine was never flashed. It ran like a striped ape, but the throttle and clutch was always ready to jump off the line. Hooligan bike.
THE REAR BRAKE. Just bleed the system, use a vacuum tool and pump the brakes until you push atleast a couple resivors of volume through it with both vacuum and petal action
@AdventureTomek You sure about that bud? I have indpected/ serviced more than a few, and they all have massive amounts of air in the system. The short throw lever might mask the issue.... but your brakes are in an unsafe condition still. Bleeding the air out makes the rear brake feel like you would expect. if you have any experience with bikes you get on one of these and immediately think wtf.
@@john0270 before buying the new piece, I did bleed the rear brake line. The new brake pedal in my option is a massive improvement. Ride one with a Camel ADV brake fix and let me know what you think.
Another great video, thanks Tomek. I have a question tho. I currently have a 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure (non-R) and I love it. But... I recently started thinking about trading this bike in on an 2019/2020 Yamaha T7. This mostly because I want to start riding some offroad bits (still mostly onroad tho) and doing trips down parts of the "Trans European Trail (TET)" . Since you own both of these bikes, which would you recommend for a beginner like me? Is the Yammie decent when riding on road? Would it be a good idea to take my beautifull KTM offroad as a novice offroader? I would like to hear your thoughts on this.
The 1190 is a much more comfortable long distance bike for riding highway. I would say take the 1190 on some light off road trails and see how you feel. Personally I feel much more confident in more technical/challenging terrain when riding the T7.
I've had a few ADV bikes and tried to modify a KLX 300, and currently a Husky 501, I highly recommend the T-7. Recently got the T-7 and I'm selling my 890 Adventure S and possibly the 501.
@@pinkiewerewolf I currently have a klr650 and a Harley Davidson street glide. Thinking of trading in the Street Glide and getting a T7. Love my klr650. @@black_widow_overland The T7 is a great bike for pavement to trail riding. On the highway I feel like a right lane rider on the KLR, even the Gen 2, but the T7 is very capable, even in the SF Bay traffic.
