Your channel was one of the reasons I purchased my own T7. Unfortunately my 24 has had sticky clutch plates that my local dealership did not want to replace under warranty so the bike sat most of the summer. it wasn't until recent that Yamaha came out with a service bulletin for mine to be replaced. Mine was such a headache that it was sold.
Hey Robert, thanks for the nice summary of your experiences with the T7. I can confirm a lot of this and would recommend it to others in one way or another. To compare the "normal" T7 and the World Raid, I have to say, I ride the T7 Rally, which is no different than your T7, but I got the T7 WR from a friend who has a motorcycle rental in Crete / Greece, I rode it and have to say that despite the larger tank, the center of gravity has noticeably moved down. And yes, the silouette on the WR is of course wider but still not bulky when riding. Furthermore, the suspension has become a lot better. I was already close to swapping my rally. I haven't ridden it yet, but I think that the currently T7 Extreme could be the better T7. I believe it has the same suspension base as the World Raid. But I just love the slim silhouette of my T7 Rally. Finally, I'm really happy that you can confirm its durability over such a long distance and as you mentioned at the beginning, it's a thoroughly stable bike that won't let you down. Oh yeah, all the best for your new channel.👍 Thx to Thomas Hansen who informed over his little post.👍👍👍
As far as I can tell at the moment, the springs on the new T7s would still need upgrading. A rear shock with independently adjustable 'normal' and 'high velocity' valves is a great (expensive) upgrade. No more being bounced up by high velocity impacts on rocks and logs.
Much appreciated. Love my T7 and it's great to hear when things need to be replaced or went wrong for you so I can anticipate issues. I think I'm going to splurge on the safari rally tanks for this bike as I imagine it will eliminate the top heavy feel at low speeds and allow a large amount of fuel to be carried.
this bike is very well thought out. as someone looking to get into these things with only theoretical knowledge this is very good. thanks v much. also she is pretty
Follow your heart and gut feeling. And you will have the most satisfaction!! Oow.. and keep riding bikes off course.. greetings from the Netherlands.. Btw did you know the Yamaha travel trophy is coming your way in 2025 🎉
Hi Robert, nice to be able to continue following your yourney. Did you ever treated the Tablet contacts with any water resistant grease or oils (silicone or so) ?as I mounted the same. Also ordered the rack, thanks to you. It's a beautiful peace of gear to not miss.
Did you stick with the stock rims that are made for tubes. I have been considering changing to tubeless rims,. I am trying to decide if it is worth the effort and expense. I have had one flat so far on my T7.
@@rbaldinger That is some good luck. I got a 3 inch deck screw in mine. The perils of riding too close to town where contractors loose screws off the truck all the time. I think it might be smarter to invest in better tools for changing tubes. Like the Baja tool. certainly cheaper

Yeah that was not fun. Sorry to hear that and hope it's sorted now
Congrats on the new channel, Robert.
Thank you!

Thanks mate! Indeed the Extreme (or new Rally) has best of both worlds.

Indeed so. Cheers

Thanks mate. I will! Yes the Trophy is coming! I hope I am available. So much happening the same dates.

Thanks! I have not treated the contacts. They are very protected as they are. Except the pogo pins, but a wipe with a rag when wet solves it.
OK buddy, I’m in. Subscribed and standing by👍🏼(Thomas sent me)
You're in! Thanks to @tshansen

Rims are original. I actually never had a flat on my T7!!
