Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show I'm your host...(Paul)
Dune Part Two is gonna be seeing the introduction of a big villain and throughout this video we're gonna be going through everything you need to know about Austin Butler's Feyd. If you've seen the original David Lynch movie then this is the same character that Sting played but there's far more depth to him than what we got in that.
Though he stood around looking like an evil Ed Sheerhan with a constant Smirk on his face, he actually has deep ties with Paul and the Kwisatz Haerach.
He's such an interesting character and it's important to bear in mind that Feyd is supposed to be Paul's opposite in more ways than one. Now when looking at storytelling we often get the idea of a doppelganger to reflect what the hero could be had they taken a different path. The Hitchcockian double is something that's laced throughout a lot of film and these doubles act as a way where we can compare and contrast certain characters.
On the surface Feyd is Paul's double and both represent the sons in their families that will eventually rule their houses one day. Whoever is the more powerful out of the two has been thought to rule the galaxy and that's where there's a lot of focus on the atredies and harkonnens.

It isnt a flashback, the black and white arena scene. Here is why.
The seduction scene is in colour. It is either how the light works externally in geidi prime or it is an artistic choice by denise to dull the presense of extreme gore that might be present in the arena scene.
They also mention the Sun is black over there.

Amazing video. One question though, I always thought Jessica picked having a son was because of her control over her body with her Sisterhood training not the Spice. Feyd's appearance is really confusing to me. The only thing I can think is, he's meant to be what the Harkonnens consider ideal by however they measure attractiveness, or maybe I'm misremembering how he was depicted.
He has the rank of na-Baron, meaning that he's the one being groomed to replace his uncle when the time comes. The book and the previous Dune movies depict Feyd-Rautha as a handsome man very unlike the rest of the Harkonnen family.

One of the quirks of the Dune books is that there's always about 999 pages of discourse and then 1 page of action. Feyd is dispatched pretty quickly in the end.

Hey, man. I like your vids and enjoy your insights. I would suggest that you check the proper pronunciation of character names. It’s Hader-ack, not -ach, and the princess is named Irulan, not Iluran.
Yeah he pronounced the words like garbage... It's not hard to learn the pronunciations... Just go watch the 1984 dune the actors all checked the pronunciations with Frank himself. So all the words were spoken as accurately as possible
