Tony Denny Travis Meeks from DOTN had a raging drug problem that caused issues with the band. He was on the A&E show Intervention in the mid 2000s and had been a meth addict for quite awhile at that time. He also had Aspergers Syndrome that went undiagnosed for years, which was the likely the root cause of a lot of his asshole behavior.
RockmusicMT matt is doing good... he is my cousin. he's a lot bigger than he used to be. sucks i make my own music, wish i coulda got some help with being introduced to a label.. Reverbnation.com/Kc1
This whole damn album was fantastic. One of the rare ones you could listen start to finish and just enjoy the whole thing... listening now brings back lots of nostalgia and memories.
This is a perfect example of how music was still home grown in the early 00’s to many bands that ripped…just sit back and listen to rock/alternative from that era you can’t go wrong!!
I agree underradet as shit i saw them in '00-'01 and they as well as fuel were still hungry and good, they stole the show from hed pe orgy and the rest of em
I feel sorry for the fans that this band is underated, but the truth is that they were just one in the middle of dozens of better bands with the same sort of song, singing style and clothing. Under those circumstances if you don't have anything more to offer, you just keep with the underdogs.
This song sounds like it would totally fit right in with the grunge/post-grunge music of the 90's. It just has the perfect sound. You don't get the kind of music often these days.
Sirius sucks! Buy a new car and the Dealership throws in free Sirius for 30 days. What? 25 days goes by and Sirius telemarketing starts calling you REPEATEDLY AND BEYOND THE 30 DAYS AFTER YOU CANCEL IT! Sirius bought the Pandora Radio app later on, now that sucks too. 😜
Great band. Great lyrics, music..all of the above. It's a shame they never really achieved success. I listen to this record often. It takes back to a specific point in my life, just like all great music does.
I was introduced to this by a friend in college just over 15 years ago who loved Days of the New. It's a real shame the turn the music scene took after that. I used to hate country, but now it seems that's the only place to start when looking for modern rock.
@@cryptounchained7444 regardless, Puddle of Mudd is definitely the most famous/had the most mainstream exposure out of that lineup, so they're naturally going to be the headliners. That's pretty much the biggest deciding factor in who headlines a show, who's bigger and has the larger fan base and notoriety. That being the case, I've been to a good handful of shows where one of the opening acts blew the headliners out of the water. Goes to show that widespread appeal doesn't always equate to better quality.
@@Th3Raz96 This is so true!! The very last Weenie Roast (much like Carolina Rebellion or a small woodstock) in NC was in early 2000s (2005 if memory serves). Back then ShineDown was little known and was opening on a side stage for Staind and then of course 3Doors Down. At that time they were the main headliners with ShineDown barely making it off the side stage with the very much smaller and less widely known new bands just starting out (alterbridge,30 seconds to Mars come to mind but there was more i cant recall atm). ShineDown was who we went for, even though they werent the main events or headliners but we knew we loved them since their first album that was out. We purchased $20 lawn tickets with my nanas credit card (whom truly thought we were going to a cookout at the time- if only she had known....lol) and we ended up in the front row seeing Staind and then 3Doors Down which was the last to preform. During intermission, a security guard took a liking to my friend and we eventually got not only expensive seats but backstage to meet them ALL! Needless to say we now have only pictures of us sitting on Aaron Lewis' lap and at the last weenie roast ever, that was almost unbelievable!!! Ahhh the nostalgia, best concert i ever went to and cheapest by far. I was only 15yrs old but my classmates were 16&17 so they had liscense to drive. We ended up shitfaced (all of us besides our DD) and had to sleep on the South Carolina side of Carowinds Parking lot because we blew all our cash on beer @concert and needed our parents to western union gas $ 😜 Long story short we got lost going home, missed monday at school and somehow managed to grow into productive adults 👌 best memory of my highschool days and still to this day there has never been another Weenie Roast or any new venue quite like it, at least in NC. Spoiler alert, Shine Down ended up surpassing them all (headliners 3Doors Down/Staind) in popularity, famousness and longevity of the band as they produced music for years and years after the others fell apart. So i can see your point on headliners because had 3Doors Down lead singer not tragically passed away, they would have been and still currently be bigger than ShineDown simply because they were established long before SD was even thought about. Btw Puddle of Mudd is much more famous in the line-up you mentioned above and im not afraid to admit it even though mine&my husbands song is a tantric one. I love them both dearly and am sad i missed that concert but i had no clue they toured so recently as a year ago. Older bands endure very many challenges but if they stay alive&together they always end up with tenure over those that come after them, even without constantly dropping new music. Enjoyed your comment👍
Damn, I remember this was one of the handful of albums that came out around the time I met the woman who'd become my wife, and it'd be on repeat constantly. We've been married ten years today...who knew?!

The original lineup is what made this band. Todd, Matt and Jesse. Hugo was brought in to sing as they already had the band formed after the breakup of Days of the New. So in reality they had 2 albums thar sold over a million copies. I loved this Tantric album.
That's awesome! Big Tantric fan here. After Days of the New split and I learned of them I have always loved their music. I hear they are still touring??

Just found them a month or so ago an they have some really amazing tunes

My friend’s band is opening for Tantric in Fort Walton in a couple weeks... I’m just here reminiscing and getting pumped.
