It was Spring Break 1996, junior year of high school. This song was blaring in my 94 Hyundai Excel as my buds and I drove on our first road trip. We passed a joint, chugged Jolt Cola, and didn't have a care in the fucking world.
We were young. We were invincible. We were the lords of all creation.

Not downing you, but you have to love yourself before anyone else can love you. That line is a cry of codependency. He cant be happy if he isnt with someone, anyone. And thats part of whats driving her away, his desperation and dependency. Women want a protector, a partner, a provider. I dont care what the current wave of feminists say; Women are biologically wired to desire the best men to provide the best offspring and men are no different. Take care of yourself and figure out how to love yourself and you will be surprised how quickly you will find, by accident, the love of your life.

A lot of the comments you read on UA-cam are all about the music of the 80's and they're right, there WAS nothing like that but good music didn't end at the end of that decade. The early 90's brought out some good $#!& like this. But after Grunge music had it's 15 minutes, a lot of the music now, just doesn't have the same kick-ass mentality.

You may see a lot of comments on here from people who "glorify" the 80's. The eighties was a good time yeah. I was a teen during that time. And that decade introduced us to MTV and Madonna, Micheal Jackson and pretty boy hair metal bands. But we can't just ignore the 90's. It brought in Grunge which changed the whole music scene. There was a lot of materialism and superficiality in the 80's. There were fashions that a lot of people couldn't afford, and it was at time, where the have and have nots were always being identified. The 90's brought in an era, where things were more relaxed, the fashions were affordable and attainable. Heck, during the Grunge era it was cool to look like you didn't have money. I'm glad that I was able to see the beginning of a new era

Pffft.....back in the 90's the generation before said the same thing about music from the 60-s & 70's......perhaps in another 20 years the folks that are kids now will be saying the same thing about the music now? Just listen to the new music now....and time will separate the wheat from the chaff....and you'll forget about the music that sucks now....and only remember the good stuff.

"Just listen to the new music now....and time will separate the wheat from the chaff....and you'll forget about the music that sucks now....and only remember the good stuff."
What are you talking about? What good stuff? Im not going to spend hours a day listening to a whole bunch of crap, in the hopes I might find a few songs that are just ok. Did you not understand that everyone here is saying there is NO great music today. There is a small percent of it which is average at best when compared to the music of the 60s-90s ! Many here probably wouldnt even be that kind about it . I also dont agree people from the 90s generation hated music from the 60s and 70s,since a lot of bands from the 90s ere heavily influenced from that era,and why there were a lot of covers from then, and some very spirited ones too. Many of the non cover tunes had an attitude and sound that strongly resembled the 60s ,only with better fidelity because of improved recording equipment. A lot of new wave/punk fans form the late 70s 80s hated music of the previous eras ,but that attitude didnt last very long .
For some reason recent comments from this thread arent appearing in my notifications. Looks like UA-cam may be trying to get rid of me,in hopes of changing the direction of this thread . If you know anything at all about the Illuminati, you will have a good idea of which side they are on.

I really miss the music from the 90s. Music with meaning, substance and just awesome. What happened to music man, nothing is the same anymore.

A song truly ahead of it's time. I could never figure back then, thirty years ago, why it wasn't a huge hit, like it's been now. I've always loved it.

What the hell are you talking about? This isn't some lost b side that nobody heard this is one of two hits they had. And really if you have a hit it's huge.

@@pussyfilterincrediblehonke3079 what the hell are you talking about? This song first came out in the 1990's, but it didn't get the radio play it deserved, and I was crazy about it back then. But their rerelease of it all these years later has finally got the attention it deserves. I'm glad it's finally appreciated like it should have had in the nineties. So yeah,it was ahead of it's time being such a killer song all those years ago,to now be appreciated. Why? Didn't you know the song back then when it came out?

Renne of course I knew this song and it was a hit then and got way more attention then I'm completely confused as to what you are implying because this isn't a rediscovery we are witnessing here just a good song that everyone has easy access too
