Lyrics:
In your life you seem to have it all
You seem to have control
But deep within your soul
You're losing it
You never took the time
Assume that you're to blame
You think that you're insane
Won't you spare me
I know the breakdown
Everything is gonna shake now someday
I know the breakdown
Tell me again am I awake now maybe
You can find the reason that no one else is living this way
Yeah your lies
Your world is built around
Two faces of a clown
The voices in your head
Think there's four pawns down
Well in this unity
Fate has found the need
So you better check yourself
Before you check out
If you find yourself
Then you might believe
Then within yourself
You just might conceive
You can find the reason that (you can find the reason that)
No one else is living this way (you can find the reason that way)

#Tantric #Breakdown #Vault
Heard this song for the first time today in almost 20 years. The guitar intro instantly took me back to my high school days.
Tantric is such an underrated band. Just about every song in amazing! And this album was awesome!!
I loved them since the 90s
Wish I had of seen them in concert
@@parrotlady2007 They are on tour right now. Look em up!! I am going
@@sinsofthefather463 I wont vax 😉
so it won't likely be happening for me but thx 🙂
@@parrotlady2007 I just saw them last night at a bar in my area. They didn't require proof of vax, or masks. It was just a bunch of people acting the way we all used to before Covid. It was very refreshing! Call the venue if you're unsure!
It's not underrated, just not relevant anymore
I hate that music isn’t like this anymore. I will always listen to this type of tune for the rest of my life
You are so fucking right!
Man. There is a lot of good new music out there. It’s just not packaged and presented to you on your doorstep anymore like the MTV days of the 90’s. It’s out there though. Just like when we’d go to record stores and look for new shit to take home and unwrap there are bad ass bands to be found and a lot of them are on UA-cam. Anyways, not trying to be all preachy. You’re right though, nothing will replace the nostalgia of the 90’s. 🎸
@@josephandrews2353 Suggest something released in the last 5 years that sounds like this
I as well my friend. ,💚
Well if garbage music is what you enjoy....you'll live long. There's a lot of it out there.
I still have this CD. Such an amazing band. As others have said they are so underrated it's sad. I would listen to this band many times, just playing the CD at night in my room.
i just dont understand why they didnt go far. 20 years later and im still loving them
I agree. The only thing I can think of that caused them to not keep making music is the lead singer, not sure what his name is, being a jerk. I've seen some interviews with him and he had this really cocky attitude that I could see it being hard to be around him for extended periods of time. I could be wrong about that though, it's just the vibe I got from the couple of interviews that I've seen. After watching the interviews I really started to not like him though. Now, he may actually be a really nice guy and I'm way off base with that assumption, but that's just the impression I got. Most of the band being from Days of the New, which was a great band as well, and going through what happened with Travis Meeks may have had a part in it too... IDK
hey bro i’m kinda late but hugo is doin well my dads friends wit him i jus saw him not to long ago
@@dudeguymanbro9363 his names hugo, my dads friends wit him. or was i met him a couple times he sold us a car that broke down no pun intended, yes he’s a piece of shit
Cause they didn't sell out
Too much of a desperate Rob Thomas and Scott Stapp vibe with the vocals and none of the range. That said, love this song.
10/2023. THIS band is over the top talent. Energy. Lyrics. Sound. Hugo, Chris, Jon, Eric.....You've got to see them LIVE.
Saw them in concert for the first time tonight. Can confirm, they are still rocking it.
I've seen them twice, years ago. Had a beer with Hugo at Club La Vela
I saw them last year.
Seeing them today, they are playing at our local pool hall. Along with Trapt.
Such a deep unusual voice for such a young guy at the time. A beautiful voice!!
My dad opened up for them a few times in the last few years, and man, he still kills it. He lost nothing, except for his original lineup.
Literally sounds like every other band in that Era
It's crazy cuz he's speaking voice is so raspy. He sounds like an 80 year old smoker, but can still sing great. He's a bit of an anomaly.@@stephenharrop2573
@@Str8kazmtotally disagree.
He was 16 when he started Days of the New
Anyone rocking this in 2022?
The nostalgia is real here.
Hell ya, 57 and still rocking
aye !
Man this lineup was original I miss the original lineup I wish Todd would comeback
Hell yeah
These guys are so disgustingly fucking underrated beyond words.
Yeah it is so ridiculous! I literally get mad as hell thinking about it!
Marc Shlyshen They are! I saw them live a few weeks ago. They opened up for Puddle of Mudd and Saving Abel. They were so much better than Saving Abel. I was up front, and they really impressed me. Harmonies were great. Vocals were great and the band itself was good. The drummer did a great job.
I agree just by seeing live videos of saving Abel and live videos of tantric
Eva Lora I saw them open last night for Saving Able and Tantric was by far the better band.
That CD was great from start to finish
So talented and left their mark in music history with DotN and Tantric! Travis was just part of the talent with Todd and the boys proving themselves beyond capable on their own. Sometimes talent just isnt enough and you cant make a killing in music no matter how amazing you are. I'm just thankful they gave us the gems they did!
Vic Mackey beating Armadillo and this song playing in the background. The shield ❤️
A really underrated band. Great song writing, good vocals, and good musicians. Seen em back in 2002-2003 and they were great live.
Maybe hes showing yall,us all,he was that kid and look at him now!!!!!
The Shield S02E03 "Partners" brought me here
Ditto
Me too
Witchblade here!
Underrated show
Those grill marks on armadillos face were narly..he used to look sooo pretty lol..
Covid-19 and My undying love for this band brought Me here 4/2020
The end is the best, and more humans should stick up for each other like that.
I love that line.."better check yourself before you checkout".
WOW!!! That harmony is so on point!!!
I was immediately reminded of Alice In Chains at that part.
I got a CD player and Tantrics Album for my 10th birthday. Used to to chill out on a grassy hill or sit and a tree and listen to the whole thing til the batteries ran out. Those were better days.
Got here from days of the new videos. Haven’t heard this song in 20 years and still know every single word. What a great song and band.
Bring back ALTERNATIVE MUSIC in 2020!!!!
Let's start a movement for Alt Rock 2020
Me and my band are working on it
@@randomguy-zb4tl let's go!👏
Count me in!
Rock on.
I got to play this song with Tantric tonight at Johnny Joe's in Mechanicsburg Pa. Thank you Tantric for giving me the gift of a lifetime. Love you guys! Best night of my life!!!!
I saw the video. You and Andy did a great job
Very cool! I remember seeing a cover band called Peace Pipe at a bike event in North Carolina called The Smoke Out. These guys did a number of basically one hit bands songs and Breakdown was one of them. It was FRIGGIN' AWESOME that they played this. Loved it since it first came out!
Ashland PA brother!
Grew up with lead singer.. He's a solid dude
awesome! 🤗✌
This whole album is amazing, love the unique sound
This is one of the most generic, apes from like 4 other bands shit I’ve ever heard.
Good songs like this NEVER get old!❤
Thanks to "The Shield" for reminding me of Tantric and this song!
My husband was watching the Shield when he heard this song and looked it up. It's now his favorite and wants to sing it at kareoke. He's been practicing
I remember this song when it came out
@@tanyamckinnon5376 this song is wayyyy before that time
I was watching that way back then! Great show. Great song!
Man, I remember listening to Tantric on Winamp with the crazy visual plugins moving to the music. Such good times,
My intuition lead me to this song. Guess my angels are telling me something. I hear it loud and clear. Literally I am this kid in my every day life and I just met a person that is helping me and standing by me! Just like this kid did. . Loved this song in high school. Rocks all that more bc I understand it now.
Any fans of The Shield here?
👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽
Yeah man 😎😎
FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!
Dean Ambrose? Seth Rollins? Roman Reigns? Lol idk
🦍🦍🦍
My youth. I didn't have it all. Grew up poor. Walked to school. Bullies waited for me along the way to school. I know how it feels to be scared all the time. I feel this song.
This video is outstanding. Message about bullying and how just one person can change the course of a bullied kid's life. I had tears coming down my eyes. Absolutely extraordinary. ♥️
Forever praise the cool guy that put a stop to the bullying and made him apart of his group✊ he was me..
Respect to the man that takes a stand, Fuck those bullies. A little kindness goes a long way. LEGEND
Were you the one to stop it or to further push the mob bullying exponentially and repeatedly? Darrin to repeat. Don't kid yourself or me Joe. Good day 😇✌
@@nathandcostello7427 yep, my bet is he was most definitely the bully and not the "cool guy" lol
@@CommaderRockwell I definitely wasn't the cool guy personally. I was just a little sh!t who dgaf about being a part of a collective or group as Joe calls it. I was and am just a lone wolf who hates p@ssy @ss bully mobs, collectives, or groups. 😇✌
That definitely wasn't me I was most certainly the asshole bully. It's crazy to look back and know you behaved that way. What effect you could've had on someone's life and that period point blank you were wrong. It sucks to live with that. These kids don't understand how adolescent behavior is gonna effect their thirties
When I was in a band at the age 15, this is the first piece that we cover, and now I'm 29, all i can say is, I'm lucky to know this song, one of the treasure of my youth, one of the best song I'd ever heard in my life,
My favorite ringtone of all time. It amazes me that this sound comes from these people. The vocals. The guitar. The rhythm guitar.
The way they used this song in ‘The Shield’ was fkn epic.
Can’t listen to this song without thinking about that episode.
If music was still like this, the world would be a better place.
When Vic Mackey on The Shield rams that guys face on the hot surface of that stove. 😂
I vividly remember that scene to this day.
Lol I know right Eeeeee Nooooo 😂😂
That's a human hand 🤣🤣
Vic:"Tell me you're leaving!!"
"That stuff doesn't kill me!!"
This is such a 90's type of song despite being in the mid 0's
'97-'98ish
it's barely in the 2000's. 2001 to be exact
@@1969MARKETING Yeah, I think 2006 was the year denoting the rights to the music video, rather than the video's release, which was 2001.
All the remaining members of days of the new..... Listen to shelf in the room
I worked on the lead singers cars cool dude.. let me drive his nasty mustang awesome dude.. hugo Ferrara
In my opinion, one of the best songs and vid . Definitely in my top 20. Wish these guys still put out this kind of material...
2024 still rocking this Jam every day
Did this guy die, because with a voice like his, how the hell is he not one of the biggest singers in the world.
Dude has a good vioce, sound very much in the vain of Chris Cornell.
+Rain Storm Even worse - this sound died. Such a shame.
+MrFlipperInvader782 This version of Tantrums is 3/4 days of the new. it's basically dotn with a new singer
No, they actually still make music. It just doesn't sound anywhere near the quality of this.
I saw them live a few months back, dude was gooone. Like he sounded terrible, too drunk to sing. I guess that would have a lot to do with what could be holding them back. :/ Shame cuz they make good music.
I was cleaning my room and found the lyrics to this song scribbled on a piece of paper from ten years ago. I Googled them, and it brought me here.
It's amazing the gems I can rediscover when tidying up.
2022 but wishing it 1995! Such a great time in music. Yeah this came a few years later.
that time between 99-2001 got some pretty good rock songs.
Still one of my all time favorite songs all these years later.
I remember when this song first came out! It really helped me cope with my depression. :) thank you tantric!
Thank Mcdonalds for the depression.
Me just here jamming to 2000s rock music 😎
Once my baby is born this will be the shit he grows up with.
I've been in LOVE with this band for as long as I can remember ❤
They should have been bigger than they were. Underrated & definitely not appreciated 😢
this is when FM radio, rock music and Muchmusic used to be good
I sooooo oo much agree with you....this city got rid of both my favorite stations 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠
And edge fest was awesome
Best band ever acdc

Been at the bottom as of last night, gotta stay strong to keep fighting
Yes💪! 👍💓
& thank you for writing✌
i needed your comment Today man. serious.
These guys were great. Miss 'em.🤟
this guy's nu-metal vocal affectations are intense.
That's not nu-metal, dude - that's more grunge.
@@hinjurock is nu-metal with post-grunge broh
I'm a 70"s guy but I always look for new music with a message and sound and this was a winner.
World's best ringtone. Never fails to get a Hell Yeah nod.
Carrot's
Haha hell yeah
I gotta try it. I imagine it's the beginning riff. Have TOOL now... the start of SCHISM.
I second that
How underrated is this. This song came out when i was in high school. Brings back memories ..
Bro i didn't even know this band existed until a year ago when my uncle gave me a poster of tantric and its been on my wall ever since
This song is so nostalgic for me.
Coming back to this video a million years later, I never processed that the kid never really stood up for himself, he just had a popular kid vouch for him..still love this song
From the ashes of Days of the New comes Tantric
I wasnt allowed to listen to much Post-Grunge -Nu Metal bands as a child (born '95) and this band actually sounds nice, they have great lead vocals, a nice harmony, its so good
How exactly did they stop you? Even the Amish kids listen to music. Anyway, sry.
@@dustybrown4599 i was abused and became fearful of what I wanted to enjoy, knowing i would be punished. I was a cautious child, not a rebellious one
On my way home and this song comes on the radio. Right after the station played days of the new. Both lead singers have incredible voices
I was just listening to Shelf in the room and then this. I think the guitar styles are similar. Love both.
@@Long-nd8bq same band except for singer at least these early tantric albums.
remembered this while i was in the shower. brings me back those days in college in early 2000s.
The dude in the green tank top coming to the rescue at the end is such a great moment. You could tell he was annoyed / pissed all throughout but waited for the opportune moment. Anyone who's ever been bullied as a kid probably adores this music video.
almost 10 years later... still listening to this song lol
It turns 15 this May. I remember hearing it in 2001. Whew. Time has a way of getting behind us.
Desten Morg
I sell society
hell yes. me too.
dank what's up bro just to let ya know that tantric is from Louisville Kentucky my friend
I love Tantric, they are a great band
These men are sweet. Thank you Wydennsa
Those two totally got it in later that night.
This whole album makes me wanna stand the top of a mountain with no shirt holding my arms out to the sky
I never get tired of this album! Way underrated
Hellllllloooooo Freshman year of high school! I remember so many good times from music around this songs time!! Amazing how nostalgia will whip its wonky out and slap you about the face and say, “Hey Bud! Remember the good ole days?!”
2019 still jamming this tune..ROCK ON..
This is good music and great rock n roll I don't care want anyone says.
Rock is the best.

Sho right!
If you don't care what anyone has to say why would you say anything at all online
@@debbytinklepaugh8561 You missed his point. The point wasn't that he CARES in some emotional sense, but instead that REGARDLESS of what anyone says, this will be good music to him.
this song is insane... listening for ages
Getting a chance to finally see them next weekend , so excited
Heard this song on The Shield (amazing show worth watching so gritty tv isnt like that today) this song is so good
The shield the best show tv ever
I haven't heard this song in years, but I still know these lyrics by heart, haha. Funny how music sticks with you through the years. I listened to this all the time back when it was big :D
sschafi1 im having one of those moments right now
You know it's a great song when you can remember the lyrics years after last hearing it! Loved this when it came out! Funny too, how people will put down each decade, but the 90's had a helluva lot of good tunes!
Sorry, the late 90's stuff blended with early 2000's, when this song was made. Kinda got blurred as to what music came out when in that time period. I was a teen in the 80's so I'm a real headbanger, but love all kinds of music from different decades and realize there IS good music in each decade. You just have to look for it. It's not quite as prevalent or gets the airplay that all the manufactured pop garbage gets!
This song still kicks fukn ass 🤘
Tis called long term memory mate. You listened to it so much that it was branded! Tis a good thing : )
One of my most favorite voices in the world of rock.
Nakkid Frodo Agreed!
Really? Wanna meet him?
Sounds a bit like Sully but it is a great voice💪
@@deansolistino Sounds like it was mixed to sound just like Travis
Always loved this kids voice. Just a great song!!
That guitar riff really draws you in.
Tantrics new album is one of the best albums I’ve heard the past few years, ten years is in my top 10 songs of all time and it only came out a few days ago I recommend anyone who sees this ( The Sum Of All Things ) even I’m the biggest Arctic Monkeys fan since 6 years old, Tantric are my 4th favourite band since being introduced to this by my girlfriend
I love how they show the lyrics in this video on a piece of paper. Idk why I just think that’s awesome they did that.
They're important lyrics. Wakeup call
✌😍 Awesome old tune
Whole album Rocks ...
Tantric always rock........
as a first time hearing this song i can definitely say that i was NOT expecting homiess voice to sound like THAT! Killer Rock and Roll!!
I just seen these guys last Friday at Harpo's in Detroit, with Saliva, Trapt, Saving Abel and Puddle of Mudd. Best concert I ever been to!!!!
How am I only being woken up to this awesomeness 13 years later!?!
I got shivers and goosebumps 🤘💥
Woke?
@@VapnFagan 😂....past p. of 'wake'
I woke up. I am now awake. But the actual term is awakened. But yeah you are woke, looks like you fell asleep in English class though. You should've been woke for that 😂😂
The first 2 cd are sick. Love them.
Are your kidding me? Great rock song!!!!
Back when Rock music from the 90's/early 2000's was so dang great until it was vanished & screwed over by mainstream corporate pop garbage. I've first heard this song from SiriusXM Turbo & boy I was really amazed by it. Can't forget good music. \m/
Owned this album for 13 years now. Guess it's time I watched this video. ha
My band opened for then in owasso on Nov the 8th and they still rock, wish this music would come back to the radio
Goosebumps...
I remember buying this album back in 2001. I'd honestly say that Breakdown along with The Hollow by A Perfect Circle are 2 songs that I am always in the mood to here. Top notch stuff, wish they could have soldiered on. 2nd album wasn't terrible either, but nothing compared to their self titled...
True I got this album around the same time :)
Those are 2 songs which instantly bring me back to 2001.
I absolutely love this song! He has an amazing voice
Can't wait to see these guys next weekend. San Antonio Texas rocks forever.
Sad, I can relate to it in so many ways. No one cared for this guy, not even his dad.
LOVE ME SOME TANTRIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, like always, VERY underrated band, and great song. They deserve more in my opinion. They should get at least 2,000k views for this song.
The Shield ... This song fits great to the scene and the show in general.
Saw tantric in satx in 2014 0r 15 still rocked awesome band
Days of the new was great too! Both awesomeness!
Most people dont know this is days of the new
@@donaldholtkamp5383 Sort of. Without Travis there is no DOTN. He may have his problems, but the man wrote some excellent songs and has such underrated talent. I enjoy both bands equally myself. Sad the original band has split from Tantric. Always hoped Travis would fix himself and reform Days of the New. Wishful thinking I guess.
@@johnmcgrady4397 they did a reunion in 2014 but it didn't even last a whole tour unfortunately. I had no idea this was the original band other than Travis. But it makes sense as to why I love it. I think he made a big mistake firing them
Travis has more talent in his little finger, than all these guys... DOTN was pure audio poetry
