I had the pleasure of meeting both MP and MM in my life and both are phenomenal drummers in their own right. And though I like both of their styles, MM is by far the nicest and most humble person I've ever met. A super nice person who appreciates the opportunities he's been given in life. MP the other hand was cocky and egotistical and wasn't pleasant to talk to at all. Aside from their personalities, I believe both have made an awesome contribution to DT. I read the ridiculous comparisons between the 2 and there is no comparison. Both are awesome and have their own unique styles that they brought to DT. I have listened to DT back from when Doninici and Moore were members. And yes their style has changed which makes them progressive. But to criticize MM or MP is a waste of time because both are phenomenal. Whether you are a fan of MP or MM: Let's just agree to disagree and be adults about our differences of opinion and respect one another. Enjoy the music: isn't that why we're here in the first place?
I lost i bit of a respect for MM after the interview from the recording of DoT, after a question if he listened to some other bands and if so, which ones. He answered like "Lol, I don't listen to others", which sounded very "cocky and egoistical", as you say...
@@JirkaMichalik well I didn't hear that interview but I will give it a listen. I was merely describing meeting them in person and how they interacted with the fans. And MM was very down to earth and respectful. But I respect your findings and opinions.

It has been some time since i heard a rock theme with fully orchestrated accompaniment..i have to say. I am impressed. Not that their are not others, last time i think i heard one so well done was sometime in 70 s when frank zappa and them mothers did it. It to was quite remarkable.(I like this shit) but it is just my comment.(for what its worth) good job.to the band and orchestra too!!!
IMHO there are so many amazing drummers today that he won't make it even to top 10 of my list. Mike Mangini is to me like a VST plugin, and that's it. Saw him two times live with DT and both times I missed some energy, like there was no added value to a drum machine. You should check guys like Todd Suchermann, Thomas Lang, Marco Minnemann, Danny Carey, Matt Garstka, Benny Greb, Gavin Harrison, Simon Phillips, Adam Markó, Baard Kolstad or Ed Warby.
