Peep the foxy oven mitt tho.....also an essential. NOTE that I forgot to add: the reverb I use in my TikToks is the Valhalla Vintage Reverb plug in!! I will try to answer as many questions down below as I can :)
I've been watching you for 4 years, I've loved watching your journey! My question is, any advice for general lighting? I've been trying to get the perfect fit, but can't seem to find the right materials needed.
Hey malinda I have an idea for you to do for your honest Christmas trip thing So basically maybe you could have a part that’s like “on the 12 days of 2021 COVID gave to me…” and then name 12 of the covid variants
I love the fact that she considers her instruments like her children. It just shows her passion for the music we all love. It was cool to see everything you do to produce these videos. Keep up your amazing work at your own pace, Malinda.
The children are all except the banjo adopted. They must be, as it cannot be a normal woman, like Malinda, who has born them. ---and how do the fathers look??
Lol I literally got the notification for this video as I was about to go to sleep but sleep can wait. Side note; 2:38 I need that oven mitt, it’s so adorable!
I am the same- when in a creative flow I can forget or keep putting off lunch or dinner, then when I finally stop to eat I realise how starving I am, sometimes to the point that I'm super low in energy or feel strange... 😅
Red hair, Red dress, Brown guitars and woodworks that's some real nice asthetics and gives a mild jolly tone when combined with your expressive face and energetic actions.
That was really interesting! 'This ukulele that I never use' made me laugh. Also, every time there's a reference to a bouzouki I just think of the Monty Python cheese shop sketch. 😀
AAAAAAYYYYY I saw that bouzouki on the wall so fast. You just said in a recent irish vid that you wanted to get one so glad you got one. Things sound so sick, I have an APC zouk from portugal. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to spend a bit more. Is really well made. Hora seem good aswell and much cheaper.
Your channel came up in my feed a week ago and i have enjoyed the songs such a warm and lovely personality with a beautiful voice. Best wishes from the UK.🎶🎶🌹🌹
I LITERALLY JUMPED OUTTA MY CHAIR WHILE GASPING THE BIGGEST GASP I HAVE EVER GASPED WHEN YOU MENTIONED DODIE, YOU TWO ARE MY FAVOURITE CONTENT CREATORS you should do a proper collab
I don’t know why but when I see peoples old childhood bedrooms I get sentimental and cry, and it’s also kinda sad seeing your old recording studio/childhood bedroom untouched and in its entirety just waiting for you to come back, also the fact that a lot of your old equipment is still their just makes it a little more haunting (not haunting in a bad way but haunting in a frozen in time way).
I've listened to your songs this week during work, and it helped me a lot to feel a little bit positive and happy. Thank you so much for your music, keep up the good job! Lots of love to you! ♥
If you’re looking for an addition to your Irish flute family I can very highly recommend Martin Doyle Irish flute maker. He makes some of the most beautiful, soulful flutes.
In the thumbnail on the right hand side, it looks as if you’ve got a green bag with a small Malinda inside. That’s a really helpful asset, I suppose! 😊
You should release your music on vinyl. The music would sound even better with the warmth tones vinyl produces. I use to release music on vinyl. Happy to help out if you ever decide to do so. 😊
I feel the same about the guitar i want to buy. A Maton EGB808 Nashville. When I played one in the shop, I fell in love with it, it just felt right. still saving the money
Great fun! With an iPad and a second (plain) mirror you can use video conferencing apps (facetime excluded) with your prompter and make eye contact with your caller.
I was just hoping and scrolling to find a video like this from a channel I already like. Considered giving up and expanding my search to other channels, but lo and behold, exactly what I was looking for, from Malinda! Thanks for this! I’m trying to figure out how to get started making songs, but I’ve been unsure of what I really need. I have - a good USB mic - soundproofing pads (I’m going to make a little recording box out of a cardboard box) - good headphones, - midi keyboard - Ableton on a PC. I think now I just need to learn my way around ableton so I can edit my recordings and actually complete songs! Only then will it be the time to decide my next steps, like putting songs on SoundCloud and possibly trying to make videos (My best camera is just my iPhone 12 mini)
A rather fast tour--- but I am happy to see and hear, that you are still healthy and enjoying life. I almost got encouraged by your talk above to do something like the things YOU have done in your studios------ but I am a fool to get things finished , though tunes have been sheeted out, I have not really shown them to the world, yet .
Hi i listened you only last month for the first time when i was in the hospital the song was the Drunken sailor and i loved your voice and i loved too the gentleman who sings with you, i am portuguese and i will talk about you to everyone
Holy crap on toast this is the first time I’ve seen you in something than other than the dark ambience singing videos. You. Are. Even MORE. ENCHANTING. In full color! 😍😍😍
Just a quick note about the new Macbooks: I had to replace my Macbook in 2020 and I have to say they're really over-engineered. The new Macbooks have had the heat vents engineered right out of them so, if you're using them for longer than 2-consecutive hours, especially if you're charging concurrently, you will notice the laptop getting really warm and you'll hear the internal hard drive loudly whirring from being overheated. Instead, I'd suggest looking for a professionally refurbished 2017 Macbook Air.
When I was making videos, I used to record on the newest iPad Air and I realised very quickly I needed a microphone. Your recommendations were very helpful and I’ll keep them in mind when I ever go back to making videos. Really happy to see that physical notebooks are still a thing
It's funny how you refer to all your equipment and instruments as "she", but when it comes to Siri you're very adamant that it's not "she" but "it" :p Not saying that it's wrong or anything, I just think it's funny xD Love the tour, especially the explanation why you use what gear, and what's essential for a beginner. Thank you!
IIRC they made easter eggs for the smart assistants where they actually chose pronouns for them and it will tell you it. I don't remember what Siri says but Google Assistant says it/its and some other assistant says they/them.
You can livestream with older cameras as long as they have a clean HDMI output. You would then need a capture card/usb stick like the Elgato Camlink 4k. The only things that the new generation of cameras does much better is Autofocus during filming and better low light.
Just watched this. I love the stuff that you showed us, but I'd hoped it would be more "this is my space and how I use it". I don't do anything musical, but enjoy behind the scenes of those who do.
Would love to see more videos about your content creator journey! Also so cool to learn about the progression of your work space, instruments, and equipment
Love the gear, and love how you've been playing stuff forever! Please keep going! I don't feel as bad not continuing to learn instruments, with folks as good as you around!!
I wonder if it would be practical, for candlelit scenes, to have some ambient light while filming then turn down the exposure in post, so that there's less camera noise.
Do i have to do my homework? Yeah.. are videos you post always priority to me tho? Absolutely!!! Also i really need those oven gloves! (Idk what the correct english word is loll😅) But they are incredibly cute 🦊❤️
Ahhh i have the same galaxy projector that i use when I'm chilling out or making videos, I love it! I enjoyed how passionate and excited you are about your home and all the things you've acquired to be able to do what you love, it was so great to see :-)
Thank you very informative tired a utube channel and quickly realized I need more stuff have some of the things you showed still building my studio thanks again your awesome
Actually preparing for some of my final exams at university right now and one of them ist video and audio production right now, so it is a great video to see some practical tips and practice some tasks. Thanks for that 😊
Your timing on this video is perfect. I just had a laptop and a mixer die on me recently. You've given me some ideas for new equipment. By the way I love my Focusrite Scarlet I purchased from Sweetwater. Thanks again and keep up the great work. Type at you later...
If anyone is wondering, most flagship phones will have similar, awesome, cameras. You don't need to go the Apple route, unless you prefer to of course.
For those of you getting into recording at home: I bought a super cheap USB condenser from Amazon for like, $30. Somehow, it replaced my Blue Yeti. The new cheap microphones really do hold up well.
Your such an engaging talented person. So glad I found you on you tube. Love your Siren music. Could you do an angelic song by any chance, I’m curious to see what you come up with. Keep up the amazing work xxx
Really cool to see behind the curtain, Malinda! I’d love to see more content on doing content for a living. That sounds really weird…you know what I mean :)
I always enjoy seeing/hearing what equipment people are using even though I don't do what you or other youtubers do. I had a college professor who used to look at equipment magazines.... he called them "gear p*rn." LOL (I felt is necessary to sensor that word so it didn't get flagged or removed haha)
I gasped when you said the Sm7b was the mic to start out with- they’re like 400$, my broke little self can’t imagine spending that on just the mic without the interface, sound proofing or anything else 😢😂
Wow that was a lot of information but I'm really glad you shared it with us. If anybody is looking to do their own music that is quite the list to inspire to get. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Love this video! I’m always curious to see how everyone’s setup is and what equipment everyone is using! Thank you Malinda for being the wonderful human being that you always are 😁👍
Brand New watcher truly enjoy what you have put out. I would absolutely love to hear you sing once upon a dream by lena Del Ray. I think it would be a big hit. Truly enjoying the contacts keep on rockin
This is very informative and does give me some image on how you do your videos. Wonder what the future holds on context creation for you and hope you continue to be better 😄
Peep the foxy oven mitt tho.....also an essential.
NOTE that I forgot to add: the reverb I use in my TikToks is the Valhalla Vintage Reverb plug in!!
I will try to answer as many questions down below as I can :)
As someone who's also obsessed with VintageVerb, is there a particular Mode that you usually use? Or does it vary depending on the song?
That is such a cute oven mitt! Thon even has a name! 🦊😍
I think Peep should make a cameo in more videos, it's a cute and funny addition to the video.
I've been watching you for 4 years, I've loved watching your journey! My question is, any advice for general lighting? I've been trying to get the perfect fit, but can't seem to find the right materials needed.

That “lovely human being” who said apartment tour was me!!! I actually feel so so honored right now, you are such an inspiring person Malinda!
Post back screen
Jajajajaja right after she said "lovely human being" I read your comment and I was both confused and amazed
I love the fact that she considers her instruments like her children. It just shows her passion for the music we all love. It was cool to see everything you do to produce these videos. Keep up your amazing work at your own pace, Malinda.

RIGHT????? IT'S THE CUTEST!!!!
Thank you for that timestamp! Otherwise I would have missed that beautiful oven mitt.
I could so easily just listen to her and look at her for 24/7. So easily.
Wow, that was COMPLETE
I am the same- when in a creative flow I can forget or keep putting off lunch or dinner, then when I finally stop to eat I realise how starving I am, sometimes to the point that I'm super low in energy or feel strange... 😅

I hear Fearless playing in the background! :D
Love set-up and gadget tours, thanks for telling us yours and also including the software! And cheers to Patreon Brian!
That is the most adorable oven mitt I've ever seen

One of my favorite holidays is Valentines Day, because I’m all about the love ❤️.
I've listened to your songs this week during work, and it helped me a lot to feel a little bit positive and happy. Thank you so much for your music, keep up the good job! Lots of love to you! ♥
I've been watching your videos for a few years now but never realized just how many instruments you have (and can play 😯).
If you’re looking for an addition to your Irish flute family I can very highly recommend Martin Doyle Irish flute maker. He makes some of the most beautiful, soulful flutes.
A big hug to all.
You are my comfort voice, when I need to feel like I’m being hugged I just listen to your music :) *hugs* I love you so much

Now that I know you have two studios, I'll try to see if I can tell where a particular video is shot. Thanks for the tour, Malinda!
The best video I've seen. I refer this to people when they ask about how to do it all.
When I was making videos, I used to record on the newest iPad Air and I realised very quickly I needed a microphone.
Your recommendations were very helpful and I’ll keep them in mind when I ever go back to making videos.
Really happy to see that physical notebooks are still a thing
But sad we didn’t get an honest Christmas song this year… Still, this was very fun. Thanks Malinda!💙
Same
You are one of the many reasons I picked up the guitar again. Don't know why I stopped playing, maybe depression. It has been a year.
Malinda you are such an inspiration! I send you hugs and wel wishes. 💚☘️
It's funny how you refer to all your equipment and instruments as "she", but when it comes to Siri you're very adamant that it's not "she" but "it" :p

9:31 because the dt 770 is better actually.
Thank you! Would love to see more about building out a business around content creation!!

thank you so much for this in-depth run through it's so helpful!
I'm not gonna ever have a music studio or make music and yet I watched this whole video just to watch and hear you talk, Malinda 😅 ❤
Make twisted translations!!!! We all love them!
Do i have to do my homework? Yeah.. are videos you post always priority to me tho? Absolutely!!!
Also i really need those oven gloves! (Idk what the correct english word is loll😅) But they are incredibly cute 🦊❤️
Who else was sort of disappointed when she didn’t post an Honest 2021 song, but glad to see your doing well

Heyyyyy your amazing! Are you going to do a 2021 recap as a song?!?!?!
For those of you getting into recording at home: I bought a super cheap USB condenser from Amazon for like, $30. Somehow, it replaced my Blue Yeti. The new cheap microphones really do hold up well.
Love your voice very angelic
From Italy, we love you.
Thanks for what you do!
Thank you so much. Would you ever do a cover from Coldplay? “Fix you” specifically?

I love your music so much :)
Hello malinda, Great video
Good info here. I agree!
Thanks for the BTS info!
your videos are so comfortable and very homey. love it :]
ja Cię uwielbiam i Twój głos
A but of an explanation of the business side of how you make a living as a full-time content creator would be very helpful.
Your such an engaging talented person. So glad I found you on you tube. Love your Siren music. Could you do an angelic song by any chance, I’m curious to see what you come up with. Keep up the amazing work xxx

You are a perfect combination of supreme beauty and exceptional talent.
In terms of gear she knows what she's talking about! 👍👍
Thank you for sharing, excellent content and beautiful music.
Great stuff, thanks! I adore my bouzouki. It’s pretty hypnotic… Play on!
I do enjoy these glimpses behind the curtain, so feel free to do one whenever you like.
That said, the content is the content we're here for.

I don’t mean to be buggy about it
but those are recorders not whistles
You wear whistles around your neck
those are recorders
"For when I want to pretend I'm Dodie" lmaoo
Malinda, try to make a bigos. This is a Polish dish. It's much healthier than fast food. I wish you good health and long happy years.
Love this video! I’m always curious to see how everyone’s setup is and what equipment everyone is using! Thank you Malinda for being the wonderful human being that you always are 😁👍
Great video you have made love it
Song A thousand years

A Gibson Les Paul!
Nice! 👍😃
Quick question - are there ever going to be any more Google Translate sings? Or is that channel defunct?
I wonder if the bouzouki is a result of that Cullen Vance video a few months ago? 🤔😉
This was such a relaxing and fun video to wake up to. ❤❤ and really informative!
This is very informative and does give me some image on how you do your videos.
Wonder what the future holds on context creation for you and hope you continue to be better 😄
