This beautiful and green Raleigh, North Carolina drive begins on I-40 East to U.S. 401 / S McDowell St. into Downtown Raleigh. You get a view of the North Carolina State Capitol having work done on it. After the downtown drive, we head to the North Hills neighborhood.
    RALEIGH, NC
Raleigh is the capital city of the state of North Carolina and the seat of Wake County in the United States. It is the second-most populous city in North Carolina, after Charlotte. Raleigh is the tenth-most populous city in the Southeast, the 41st-most populous city in the U.S., and the largest city of the Research Triangle metro area. Raleigh is known as the "City of Oaks" for its many oak trees, which line the streets in the heart of the city. The city covers a land area of 147.6 sq mi (382 km2). The U.S. Census Bureau counted the city's population as 467,665 in the 2020 census. It is one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States. The city of Raleigh is named after Sir Walter Raleigh, who established the now-lost Roanoke Colony in present-day Dare County.
Raleigh is home to North Carolina State University (NC State or NCSU) and is part of the Research Triangle together with Durham (home of Duke University and North Carolina Central University) and Chapel Hill (home of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). The name of the Research Triangle (often shortened to "The Triangle") originated after the 1959 creation of Research Triangle Park (RTP), located in Durham and Wake counties, among the three cities and universities. The Triangle encompasses the U.S. Census Bureau's Raleigh-Durham-Cary, NC Combined Statistical Area, which had an estimated population of 2,037,430 in 2013. The Raleigh, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area had an estimated population of 1,390,785 in 2019.

    NORTH HILLS
North Hills is a mixed use development located in Raleigh, North Carolina that includes stores, restaurants, entertainment, commercial offices, residential living and a continuing care retirement community. There is a large outdoor commons area which features events such as live concerts, festivals, and a farmers' market.
The development lies at the intersection of Six Forks and Lassiter Mills Roads, just to the north of the Six Fork Road interchange on I-440. Major anchors to the development include Target, the Rennaissance Raleigh Hotel, and a Regal Cinema 14-screen movie theater, as well as a former anchor in JCPenney, which closed in April, 2020, and which is being redeveloped for a new anchor store, Restoration Hardware.
The development is built on the site of a former shopping mall, also called North Hills, that was the first enclosed shopping mall in Raleigh.

Really beautiful small city. Not large or overwhelming. Love the big trees that lined some of the streets.

@@brianstample9227do you get a “big city” feel from this city? Maybe I should be more clearer. This city does not look like a big city (building wise). Beautiful city though. This is a neighborhood where i’m from. Cheers

I am guessing that you are not terribly familiar with Raleigh since you sort of went around your elbow to go from Downtown to North Hills. There are much shorter routes that would also make for a much more interesting and descriptive video of Raleigh. From downtown just go up from the very south end of Glenwood to St. Mary's (north) and straight into North Hills. That's actually a very beautiful drive through 100 year old neighborhoods.

The camera person actually lived in Raleigh. We don’t intend to film everything on just one video. There will be more at some point. Thanks for watching.

“The direction we know”. That implies the video is for people that live there or know the city. Quite the contrary.

I wouldn't have guessed that by how this person is keeping you unnecessarily on the interstate instead of seeing more of the city. Seriously, the trip from downtown to North Hills could be much quicker and more descriptive of the city.@@RoadTourBySlipstream

@@johnlabus7359 Why don't you create your own video then? This is a great video of the city and I have used Western to 440 to get to North Hills before. Sure it's not the quickest or most beautiful but it's important to see all aspects of an area. Imagine if you were going to move to Raleigh, wouldn't you want to see both the good, ugly and bad parts? It's good to be aware of all areas so you can pick the best place to live. If you have a better idea for a video of Raleigh, take out your phone and start recording.
