Man she could have been so big if she would have embraced the simpsons and actually voiced characters. 😅
@greenmonkey2995 Yeah I know right! She always chalked it up and said she was too busy to commit to doing any of the voices. She once said she did the Marge voice which was a joke. 🤔🤨🙄🙆
@@SuperMarioBrosIII I liked her in Corpse Bride lol
Your analogy at the end is not quite right, I believe Tracy would be closer to the publishers of Harry Potter than a coffee shop, I believe the exposure they had on the show led to the Simpsons being so popular and anything that takes away from Fox's profits are good with me. But I agree she wasn't really involved except in advertising them
Fair Point.
That was fun. Interesting pop history.
If it wasn't for Tracey Ullman having a show on FOX, there would be no Simpsons, it's that simple, and she deserves the credit for launching them into the public view.
She got them in the public view. But from a creative standpoint and production she had nothing to do with it. It's a missed opportunity for her and one I'm sure she regrets But I can't see her having any copyright claim to it whatsoever.
I'm trying to do so is ridiculous.
The only part I would agree with is if they re-released those specific shorts that were on her show in some form without giving her royalties. That would almost certainly be a breach of contract. Nothing after that, though.
Tracey had no right to ask for money for season 1 and 2 of the Simpsons if she had nothing to do with it.
You say Ullman claimed sole responsibility for The Simpsons success but that's not true, she claimed she had a part in making The Simpsons successful because they appeared on her show and that is true. Groening et al even admit she approved the shorts after post production, that's not major involvement but it is involvement, you cannot give someone the right to approve or disapprove and then claim they had no involvement at all. This was not Ullman trying to take credit for something she didn't do, this was Fox screwing someone over because they could, that's what all studios and networks do. Why do you think the writers and actors went on strike recently?
You Make A Fair Point, But IMHO I Don’t Think It Was right For Ullman To Attempt To sue The Simpsons Off The Air Out of Pure Spite. Especially After Being Given A Cameo On The Simpsons.
@@TheBrokenRobotShow She never tried to sue The Simpsons off the air, I have no idea where you got this from.
@@philippschmidt80Might not be the right terminology but that’s basically what she was trying to do. She wanted to milk the simpsons for all they were worth once she knew they wouldn’t appear on her show anymore.
This is such clickbait she just wanted some of the money
I think trying to get a show canceled falls under the category of trying to cancel something even if it doesn’t fall under our modern 2024 definition.
@@TheBrokenRobotShow she didn’t tho
She didn't. Unless you know something/have some proof I don't know of?@@TheBrokenRobotShow
your saying his name wrong. it's and 'oh' not an 'a' sound when you say groening.
it's an* oh. racing to leave grammar corrections as first comments is something you should leave to the pros.
never mind the incorrect usage of your etc etc
Thanks For The Correction, I’m A One Robot Show, sometimes mistakes make it to post production.
@BrokenRobot414 I love you Broken Robot! And not in a homosexual way.
where did I incorrectly use etcetera? @@enemyplayer
