- The new Garrett Goldmaster 24K has arrived here in Australia - the first crossover technology from the Whites acquisition in 2020. It is a high-end VLF prospecting detector operating at 48kHz and it encompasses a host of advanced features. This video is a 'what's in the box' edition, with field action from the goldfields demonstrating setup and controls, and response to small gold nuggets in our next instalment. It looks great Warren and I shall watch the gold prospecting video after this one. I hate to correct you about anything my friend, but Fisher labs was the very first hobby metal detector. Then whites, then Garrett. Just saying' :-) HH and GL Warren!

I got my Garrett, wondering what the little black screw is? In the same bag as velcro and coil bolt, any ideas?
I purchased a Gold Monster only to find out it does not suit much of the Golden Triangle ground here in Victoria, so I decided to order one of these (not here yet) the other thing is the anti shock setting ..... no noise with bumps is a great feature. I am quite excited to use this machine in the near future. Cheers.
always been a fan of whites detectors since the GMT. The Gmt had a option to track magnetic black sand witch i found very helpful when sluicing. Does this new machine still have the same feature?

Warren who designs these things? Being a ex Radio Technician from the Army, why are they not using Lithium. AAs done cut it. Is it pulse detection? So a VLF like a old white, why in the this century have they not got pulse.
Yes mate it is VLF, an upgrade to the White's 48kHz Goldmaster. Garrett must be due for a new PI machine soon as ATX is a few years old now.
VLF machines play different role to pulse machines and will find smaller bits even than the Sdc2300.
For starting out on gold this would be a better option than spending ten g’s on a gpz.
The replaceable and rechargeable AA’s are cheap and can be removed when it’s not been used for long periods, something that happens a lot for amateurs.
This machine looks like a really good thing to me, I want to spend some time with it in my hands.
What exactly do you think this will come close to Warren, I'm not gonna throw out my ATX deepseeker am I lol

Looks like a nice detector, I'll be interested in your gold field review. Just a bit of info, I do believe Fisher was the first to be given a patent for a metal detector. Dr Gerhard R. Fisher started Fisher labs in 1931, in 1936 he received a patent for his M-scope (Metallascope). :)
