White's Coinmaster 5900/Di Pro Metal Detector test This 30 year old detector scored higher than The Ace Garrett 350 in my test bed 45 out of 75 points Runs deep
Thank you for testing this rig. I have located one, in similar condition for $100 and your video decreased my learning time and sold me. And your voice reminds me of "Jesse Ventura".
you all probably dont give a shit but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
@Saul Layton I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Great test. The wind was terrible but thanks for all the effort you put in. Thumbs up! They are a hard machine to master but excellent if you can do that.
I have a 5900di Pro SL "CB version," which is the last all analog detector Whites made (the 6000 version had auto trac). I buy, sell, trade metal detectors and occasionally I keep a model I like. I like the idea of having at least one completely analog machine around, but I can't decide if this is the one. The depth is ok, but the ID at depth is what seems to be lacking. I think what it is, is that so many of the old timers hyped it up as a depth monster, and so I think I was expecting something in the order of an F75 LTD, and for me at least it has fallen short of that kind of depth. In any case, I was happy to see that you put an early version of my machine up to a test. I'll definitely be using it in my consideration of whether to keep it or pass it on.
i have had one for years was my first detector and still find myself using it over my Garrett at pro alot when relic hunting its hard to beat once it has been learned.
nice video on the 5900. I've had one for years and still I learned some things. I also have a Minelab etrac. Having some issues on the learning curve on that one though. Have you ever done a video on it? I'd like to see it. Thanks for your tests.
I would like to see other old blue box Whites ad sears clones, like the model V hip mount, coinmaster 5000, 6000 etc as to whats different better or worse in comparison like meter reading, weight, discriminating... I have pdf manuals on them but not much difference in them in reading. I prefer the hip mount for lighter lifting with arm, but meter is much smaller with only 1 scale of fewer numbers so seems harder to do like this model does, if at all possible. I dont have money for the newer units on fixed income and disabled. but want a unit capable of doing near as good as this unit with less energy use lifting.
Whites needs to see these tests. maybe they would see why people like the old analogs better. also makes for good clinic for owners how to operate it best

You want a great WHITES? 6000 di Pro SL. Best machine I've used in 40 + years!
Thanks, very informative. I recently acquired a Whites 4000/D series 3 I'm in the process of learning.
My first detector was bought in 1984. It was the Whites 4000 D Series 3 and cost 289.99 brand new. I still have it and like it.
Thank you for testing and sharing. Very informative and helpful.
Years ago with these old white metal detectors lot of people found a lot of silver coins and gold class rings

Just bought one from a friend for $150. My first metal detector!
Get a Bounty Hunter Fast Tracker (6 to 8 inches on coins) or a Minelab Vanquish 340 (9 to 13 inches on coins).
