Danny was a great choice! I’ve always said he has a similar voice to Chester and has would definitely be a contender if Linkin Park ever wanna move forward a little with a new singer.

I always tell people that From Ashes to New is like modern-day Linkin Park. I've also mentioned to the band that it would be cool if they teamed up with Mike Shinoda for a collab concert because Danny can definitely sound similar to Chester when he tries to. Their cover of Faint proves it.

As someone who knows almost nothing about music im always very impressed when you emulate a whole band. How long did it take for you to make this?
Me, an amateur, 3 days @ 8 hours
Maybe 10 minutes for him
If you know some theory and decent at recording, it really doesn’t take long to change a song to whatever you want.
I'm going to make an educated guess. He chose the song. Meddled around with the riffs, decided on a vision then spent time on laying tracks, mastering and producing,.then made.the video and included his thought process and a very condensed version of his methods. Given his talent he probably spent 2-3 days. Editing these videos takes longer than shooting them.
That's my guess. Which is probably wrong.

I know that there are many people who hate other Linkin Park albums, but the versatility this band has, it’s just insane to even think about it. They can do any genre of music, and they have proved it!
Meteora and Hybrid Theory are just awesome albums, but don’t forget about the meticulously crafted A Thousand Suns, or One More Light, the albums that really helped me through tough shit.
Been a Linkin Park fan since 6 years, and will be a Linkin Park fan forever, and you did an amazing recreation of One Step Closer there, Nick.
They are arguably the most influential band of the 2000s, maybe even since then to now. They really did hit the nail on the head in numerous genres, it was undoubtedly impressive. LP is legendary.
They can do any genre of music as long as those genres are "Shitty EDM" or "Shitty Metal".

The Sing/Scream actually sounded dope. Also there are not many screamers that actually sound like having actually harmoniously pitched melodies in their harsh style scream ( I am talking about actual guttural / harsh screams, not the singscreams which usually involve distorted clean vocals, if you know what I mean).
That is what In my mind actually sets screams from vocalists like Howard Jones apart from others. He sounds like his screams have an actually harmonious pitch that really fits the songs frequencies, instead of just sounding nasty.
Marcus from Northlane is pretty good for that, and weirdly enough it used to be Oli Sykes thing before he blew his voice (again)
I think it's just so much harder to blend them than do one or another.
One of the very few things I can do vocally that I think sound good.
A vocal fry? Singer from Architects is also pretty neat on this. Howard is an absolute beast. Bjorn strid from soilwork also has everything, different cleans, screams hi low, vocal fry's all you want

Is it weird for me to say Meteora's Nu Metal is kinda saving Metalcore? Right now the good Metalcore is stuff either harkening back to the 90s and 2000s Metalcore (Like Code Orange), and stuff with Linkin Park elements like the recent MMF and WCAR material. It's a huge step up from the 2010s era of "Copy-paste a breakdown, but this time put a generic synth with autotuned vocals over it".

deftones adjacent/shoegaze-y bands, and slipknot adjacent bands are also definitely back in style with a lot of nu metalcore groups now taking so much from them (and sworn in… holy fuck so many bands try to sound like sworn in)

@@northwindkey if we talk about shoegaze in metal (or Deftones in general) then Hum should be be first thing to be mentioned because latter influence to these bands is enomorous. Also I can add Swervedriver for similar reasons.

Nik's happiness everytime he realises that his choices to make the riffs different actually work is contagious. You can see he's a happy boy working on a track he loves and it has such a charm to the video. Love to see it!
I would love to see someone redo all of A Thousand Suns as a modern metal album. Even tho that album is probably the furthest divergence from their usual sound, it’s one of my favorites because I love the concept aspect of it and I love when bands experiment with other sounds. So it’d be fun to hear a more metal take on the album.
R.I.P Chester Bennington ❤ Linkin Park is and will always be one of my favorite bands. I will always cherish their music. It got me through tough times!

I was a very angsty 11 year old when this song was originally released, and hoo boy did this hit all the nostalgia buttons for me. I’m still so glad I got to see LP in ‘02. Seeing My December live is burned in my memory and I hope I never forget it (the specifics of the other songs from the show unfortunately didn’t make it, but I remember that it was an amazing show).
I bought hybrid theory on cassette on my 13th birthday. Still love it to this day.

dude your editing makes me fuckin laugh EVERY time. With that out of the way this song was sick. LP was and still is my favorite band growing up. My family used to get me HMV gift cards for my bdays and xmas and Ill never forget finding this band. My dad was listening to them on one of those cd plays they had mounted to the wall. I was more into rap at the time so I was off somewhere else and he called me over. The cd was skipping in the player but it still sounded fuckin sick so I was like sure yeah ill get this. Hybrid Theory is still in my top 3 today and I'm 33.
