Bear Force One
I finally unlocked Boris yesterday. FIRST, I played through the RoC campaign as Konstaltin, because for some reason I remembered hearing that was how you unlocked Boris. The campaign was such a nightmare of getting war declared on by EVERY chaos faction whether they were near me or not, that I had to rush the Chaos Realms to finish the campaign. Then I found out that was never how you unlocked Boris, so THEN I looked up how you did unlocked him. Finding that out, I started ANOTHER campaign as Katarina and unlocked the Frozen Falls mission, only to find out the hard way my army could only get two thirds of that mission done before being wiped out. I grinded Katarina up to level thirty, and most of the units in her army to rank 9, then I FINALLY managed to complete the Frozen Falls battle and unlock Boris.
And THEN I found out he does NOT start with Little Grom in the IE campaign (INSTEAD, he starts right next to Archaeon, who promptly declares war on him). So if I want to start with a giant cannon pulled by bears, I'd have to start ANOTHER Realm of Chaos campaign.

The "Just don't name him Daisy" seems to be a reference to Marius Leitdorf, the Elector Count of Averland, who's warhorse is named Daisy Kurt von Helboring II; a direct insult at Reiksmarshal Kurt Helborg, Grandmaster of the Reiksgaurd. With whom Marius has playful feud with.
Also buffing your bears early, because you have two of them, is actually really strong. You can have them running over low-tier greenskin armies by themselves.
That first battle was really operating with the bear-necessities. Great content.
I soo wanted someone with acces to do Boris as his start pos is now way more engaging.
Not having to rush Zharr and leave yourself vulnerable so you can take down your starting enemy is gonna be a lot better. Sure, the enemies are there, but now you can actually focus on the skaven to your side shortly afterwards and get some reasonable allies
Watching you disband the Armoured Kossars instead of putting them into Boris's army hurt.

It would be nice, but since we can get by without them and they were helping bankrupt us 'nice' isn't good enough. Decisions are made using context in addition to the last thing I happen to say on a subject. If you expect me to be that schizo-brained you'll have a terrible time here.

love that they are starting to do legendary heroes the map is too crowded with lord start locations, also I Stan Ulrika
yeah at this point what they need to do is start giving current factions LLs not make them playable but reasons to confederate with minor factions so you can get more LLs.
Boris! Neat! That was the first RoC campaign I ever finished - felt really cool to eventually break through into the Chaos Wastes after struggling against the Ogres for a long time and absolutely slamming my way through the opposition.
Ulrika is planned to be a Total War Access release, right? I thought she was going to be a Legendary Hero - LL would be even better, of course. Personally disagree on the Realms of Chaos campaign - that structure felt super stressful and annoying to me. What they did with the Champions meanwhile I thought was actually pretty great.
That said, variety is always best, so whether they ever give that format a second go for polish or not, I'm still glad it's here, now that IE is available and all.

And a couple seconds later some of the goblin models are also falling of the bridge onto the lower pathway.

i think goblins are the "default" banner for units lacking banners, ive seen the same thing happen with modded heros and such hense the ice maidens being a bit more green than usual

I'm with you my guy, RoC was my favourite mode to play, I feel like Boris is gonna be interesting since the chorf patch now he starts so close to the 3 Chorf LLs + Ghorth the Cruel.

I personnaly prefer RoC, narrative campaigns are more my cup of tea. I still have Ogres to do at least once (and do their achievements). Then it will be time for me to play on VH and do all of them all over again.

Where does Astragoth end up getting dumped if you play Boris? Seemed like the stock Zharr Naggrund faction still holds that spot.
perhaps he's just not active during the Soul Race. fair enough I'd say, he is supposed to be getting rather old and infirm so until the plot developments that trigger the Chaos Dwarf campaign happen it'd make sense for him to just be idling in the Tower of Zhar.
perhaps he'll turn up if one of the other Chaos Dwarf factions managed to reach the relevant confederation seat in the Tower of Zhar.

Chaos dwarves are Russian dwarves. Kislev are Russian. Of course they'd prefer to not fight Borris
