The solution for your disappearing wrench problem is go to an estate sale or fair grounds and buy a bunch of used 11mm wrenches. I have like seven 13 mm wrenches. I have a nice selection of 10 mm wrenches also from ratcheting to long. It's nice to have extras and doubles.

And so satisfying finishing a video and seeing what you made out of the jumble of footage you started with lol plus it’s just nice documenting everything and having those videos to look back on later down the road 🙌🏻
Talking about the missing 11mm wrench. I lost mine after working on my Tacoma a few years back. Later on i was in Oxnard CA picking up (truckdriver at the time) and what did I spy on the sidewalk? A Snapon 11mm wrench. That size must be jinxed. I later found my Craftsman 11mm riding in the air diverter beliw the engine.. It rode there for quite a while..
I generally hear a good amount of people who ride all sorts of Honda bikes complain about shitting fittings. Oddly, I still have a high opinion of their generally quality of machine, but these crappy fittings don't bode well. Not sure why they changed the types of fittings they use because this wasn't a problem 15-20 years ago.
If you’re talking about the exhaust stud that broke, that’s not a Honda thing I don’t think. Navi’s are notorious for breaking exhausts, especially the Vance & Hines that break at the flange weld. I think the Yoshi is just so beefy and strong that instead of the flange weld breaking under stress, the stud took the brunt of it. To be fair, I didn’t use a torque wrench the first time so it very well could’ve been over/under torqued, and it broke when I hit a huge bump, so it was just the perfect storm for a break in my opinion 🤷🏼♂️
@@LifeOfBurch In the past year I've seen a few people with issues on the Rebels, specifically suspension bolts, and another buddy has had issues with his Shadow, though, it's around 8 to 10 years old, so not exactly new. Hey brotha, the plastic license plate nut and bolt will work. You don’t need zip ties. I had the same issue. Keep playing with it, it works. I did mine and my brothers Navi.

I’m sorry that happened to you…but at least someone shares my pain! 😂😂😂 The only thing worse than breaking a bolt and realizing you need to somehow get it out with extractors, is the feeling when you realize the extractors aren’t going to be as easy of a solution as you thought 😅 After all those hours of fighting, the satisfaction of finally getting the bolt out is unmatched though! 🙌🏻
@LifeOfBurch always satisfying after a fight knowing you got it and didn't break more in the process on the bike. Drill bits are replaceable, breaking things on the frame or engine are a bit fear.
Great video as always... So, If ya get bored, come over to St. Louis! I've been trying to put some speakers on the Slingshot all weekend. It's either dumping rain or a 90 degrees and a billion % humidity (They like to trade off periodically), I tried to get the dog to do it but, that ungrateful mutt refuses to be a "team player" :(
My Navi started sounding horrible. I just checked underneath today & one stud is cracked off like yours & part of it is stuck in the block :( the 2 nuts are gone & the gasket is disintegrated. Ordered a new stud for only $1.87. It's great that the parts on this bike are dirt cheap but really wish they used a better quality stud for the exhaust. I'm sure it will be a nightmare to remove the broken off piece. Do you think I should drain out the gas before putting the Navi on its side like that?
LOL, we all do stuff like leaving the choke on and wondering why the bike doesn't run right - it just happens. If it were me, I would've returned that license plate bracket - no way do I want to risk having my plate fall off or being THAT easy to steal [and you KNOW people steal plates], but you get +10 Internets for rigging up a solution. PS: I have at least one zip tie I've added to my Street Glide :D Am I now a bike builder? ;)
After I had the Navi a few months I had to look up in the manual which way choke was on or off. They have a confusing label. Also, did you get the Honda recall in the mail? The speedo cable can snap I guess. So my Navi will be in the shop for a 3rd time before 300 miles. I'm not having a good experience with it like everyone else claims to have.
Yea both of our Navis are on the recall list 😅 I’m debating whether I want to just do it myself since it would be quite the ordeal getting both bikes to the shop just to reroute a cable.
For the side of the license plate mounting hole/ plate screw you were having trouble with; pull the mounting nut off the turn signal mounting screw and slide the turn signal out of the hole (don't worry about the wire, it's not in the way enough to matter). Now mount the plate with the plastic screw and nut, and then trim the extra plastic off the screw that sticks past the now screwed on nut. Re-mount the turn signal and life is now back in equilibrium. 😉
Great idea! I don’t know if I want to put anymore time and energy into a $40 tag mount, BUT if I wake up one morning with extra motivation or extra hatred towards zip ties, I’ll definitely be going this route! 😂🤘🏻

The seat was much more plush and the seating position felt more relaxed. Not sure if the ergos are actually different, but that’s how it felt. I believe the Monkey is also geared a bit different to have a bit more low end. Plus, the Monkey feels much more “utilitarian” whereas the Grom feels more “hooligan” if that makes sense. I looove my Grom, but if I were buying new right now I think I’d go Monkey over Grom!
LifeOfBurch Have you modded your other NAVI much, since buying the Nut Brown One? Considering you were already in there I might have done the other bolt too; because #1 it would have been stressed from the other one breaking. #2. You don't know if HONDA put anti-seize on it. P.S. I have a "hack" for the broken bolt that worked for me once. I drilled a small hole in the bolt (smaller than you did) then inserted a hardened steel rod coated in super glue. Once dried I was able to lock on to the rod enough to get it out.
This is why the Navi failed in India. Wasn't built to Honda's usual high standard. Plus it wasn't a real motorcycle and it wasn't a real scooter either.
Next time try a left handed drill bit, and don't forget that because it is left handed you have to run the drill in revers. Most times the bolt will come out with the drill, but always use a drill that is right for the ez out just in case it dose not come out, I find the square ez outs work best, but for get about the snap on ones they break or round off way to easy . When you use a right hand drill you are making the bolt tighter in stead of backing it out, which makes it harder for the ez out to work. You can also get a extension for the drill to hold the drill farther away so no need to squeeze the drill in a tight spot making it a lot easer to line the drill up to the bolt. Pays to be a Industrial Millwright some times. By the way I do like most of snap on tools just not there ez outs.
