Is My New Honda Navi Just A Glorified Scooter?

- SURPRISE! We bought a 2022 Honda Navi! These new Navis have been on my radar for awhile, but got pushed to the back burner once I realized how hard they were to find and how they were essentially...well...a scooter.
But that all changed last week when I was able to track down a brand new Ranger Green (the EXACT color that Nina had her eyes on) Honda Navi about 2.5-3 hours from home. I immediately put a deposit down, rented a uhaul, and made the trip with Nina to go pick it up!
Once we got there, the question still remained- is the Honda Navi REALLY a motorcycle, or is it just a glorified scooter? I was able to take it for a tame test ride in the parking lot...ok...I may have jumped it and wheelied it...but it wasn't until we got the Navi home that I was able to take it for the first REAL ride and see if it sucked or not.
This video is that ride.
I did some "normal riding" mixed with my typical hooliganisms of jumping the Navi, doing wheelies on the Navi, and even taking the Navi off-road. And so far I gotta say...this thing does NOT suck!
But you'll have to watch and be the judge for yourself...

Sounds like it’s time for some Grom & Navi adventures together? 👀😅
I like where your head’s at 👀👀👀
We bought a Grom and 2 Navis and have so much fun with these dang things .. great video
for 1800 dollars here in my place u can buy 2 piaggio libertys and they are snappier than this ....
*chuckles in Ruckus*
the funny thing is that you took the mirror off because you did't have a wrench, but they literally gave you one under the seat lolll
🤪 L I T E R A L L Y 🤪
I thought the same thing lol
Hey Burch, thank you again for your business, and I really appreciate the shout outs! Glad to see you really putting the bike through its paces, it gives me some good info as well.
If you or anyone you know is looking for more Hondas, you know I'm always here to help you out!
You’re the man Zach! Thanks again for your help! I’ll for sure send people your way 🙌🏻🤘🏻
What about a CB500X? No one in Michigan has any. Hook me up! 😂
I need a Navi! I would go pick up from FL
Man your reviews make me want to buy more bikes. I already have wanted to buy a Grom watching you hit those trails and now I wanna get the Navi. I only have so much money Burch! :'( XD
Hahah I’m sorry!! 😭 Just do what we did and buy a Grom and then justify the Navi as your “girlfriend’s bike” 😂
@@LifeOfBurch the customization potential is insane on the Navi though, have you seen where someone replaced that storage box with a kicker?!?
@@LinkFelton yea dude! People are doing craaazy things to these! 😳
Buy a grom Like the thumbnail says the Navi is nothing but a glorified scooter
@@larryhullinger4141 Scooters have useful storage and a bit of a fairing though. The Navi is the worst of both worlds IMO. No reason to get it over a 125 or 150cc scooter.
I love how fun your videos are man! Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much dude!! I appreciate you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You are awesome dude! Fun review and just randomly helping people you come across, great stuff. Much love from the Netherlands!
YOU are awesome dude!! I appreciate the love from so far away! 🙌🏻🙏🏻🤘🏻
My navi gets here next month cant wait!
You’re video made me want it even more thanks for the review burch!
I've watched a bunch of ride videos for the Navi, and after seeing yours I can safely say this looks like a fun lil machine for the money. Once I get my motorcycle endorsement, I'd love to buy one of these! It'd be perfect for bumping around town on errands or just for fun.
You don’t Need a motorcycle endorsement for it it’s a moped
Do you have to get the navy first.
Dude I just got my navi today. First bike ever kinda nervous to take my first ride. Learned a lot from your videos. Thanks
well gosh darn, i just love the videos you make, Informative and funny at the same time. You do all the things id love to do on my free time.
That is one great grocery getter!.
Awesome review, I got my Navi in February and it’s been a blast.
You can adjust when the brake light comes on.
Good review I've been interested in knowing more about the Navi. ✌
How?
Couldn’t have asked for a better review. Sick. Subscribed.
Great video bro you are good at this ! That bike looks very comfortable 👊
Got my Navi on March 10th put about 1,100 miles and honestly for the cheap price I love it. Sometimes love to hop on and just not worry about a clutch and mess around my area
Hell yeah, great to see the first video with it! That was a sick jump off the curb. xD
Thanks Diana! I definitely wasn’t expecting it to launch off the curb as well as it did! 😂😂😂
Should do some simple mods. New cvt weights, intake, exhaust and let's us know if it makes any meaningful difference in acceleration and top speed. Would be interested a video or maybe a series.
I just bought the brown one . I live in a small town and work about 8 miles from my house and can take back roads . I’m super pumped as this is my first bike . Thanks for the video !
Exactly what it's designed for
only half tru your vid and my goodeness ... you are excellent at reviewing!!!!!! thk you for sharing knowledge.
Far & Away the best "First Ride / I Got a New Bike" Navi vids i've seen. Fantastic.
Thanks man!! I really appreciate that! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I like your style of reviewing bikes young man. Well done!
Finally getting a second to watch this. I’ve been waiting for you to finally review one. I bought one to keep up with my kid on his Stacyc in our neighborhood and to ride 4 miles to work (that’s speed limit is never over 45 mph). It’s GREAT for me and my purpose. I love it. But I personally think it’s not ideal for everyone.
Yeeeesssss Navi content! I just got my brown one 2 weeks ago. Love it so far, so frugal and fun
Hell yea man!! Frugal and fun! I love it! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Also LOL my left hand mirror came loose on my 3rd ride as well.... put some blue locktite on the nut and she's good to go :P
And as for gas mileage..... in my experience, I'm getting about 60-70mpg for "regular" riding. AKA, half the time it's pinned, half the time I'm taking it easy. Commuting, stop and go traffic style.
I've got a 50cc (2 stroke) de-restricted Yamaha Vino and It is just FUN! Always puts a smile on my face.
ive been already loving my 2003 burgman 400 watching this video makes me appreciate it alot more thing is a absolute beast on the highway 100% recommend burgmans good video!
Burgman is cool. Had an '04 Silver Wing. I'm sad the super scooter thing never caught on here. Kinda snappy like a sports/tourer but comfortable like a cruiser and strange enough not to have a stereotype.
Thanks for the review on this little scooter bike. I've been considering looking for one, as my kid is coming up on thinking about a scooter license, but I didn't know it was a 110cc. I might stick with looking for a Monkey, instead.
9:45 The same story applies to the Yamaha T7 (Tenere 700). It’s impossible to get out of the freight and setup fees because they are so hard to get. You basically can’t buy one unless you are on a waiting list. Occasionally someone will find one hundreds of miles away at a little known dealer in a podunk town and then make a road trip to buy it.
A dealer in Oregon is actually marking them up way over MSRP!
MSRP is $10,249. That dealer has them listed for $15k+. They even confirmed that price when I inquired about it.
Same with the Navi. We paid twice the MSRP for it. It was 1 of 5 in Phoenix. They are in demand so dealers are taking advantage.
Yo Burch, killer vid. Annapolis looks like a sweet spot to ride. ✌️🐐✌️
Thanks dude!! You’ll have to check it out sometime! 🤘🏻
I was legitimately thinking: "That's a wrap on Birch" when you were In the woods. Lol. Glad you survived!!!
You gotta have more faith in me than that! 😂😂😂
You had so much fun, this bike is the best value for basic mobility and smiles per miles and you even went off road wow! :>)
Sir.!!! I want you to know I'm so much in aww of your vids I'm in the process of purchasing a Honda due to your great knowledge and very well articulated explaining. I'm goin for Honda rebel fiveoo...then up grade to 1100 after a couple seasons of Riding I'm experience off road never road legal. I want to thank you I'm a fan and very appreciated Honda future rider. Thank you to you and yours much Respect - bo in Huntley IL USA
I love your vdeos dude! dont stop Hoonin!
as usual fun vid. only seen one navi so far. it's about ½ the price of the pcx and about ¼ the performance and build. for the money you can't complain about the navi. but i'm glad i got the pcx. 68mph and 117mpg
I like these longer videos from you!
Honda should pay you for this man! 🔥 description 🔥 🔥
Ayyy thanks bro! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Agreed hes very Informative!
@@peterolley7159 thanks man!! 🙌🏻🙏🏻
These are my favorite type of motovlog videos.
That's my local Honda Dealership! I purchased my 2021 GROM there. It's nice that they don't price gouge like all these other places, wanting $1,500.00 over MSRP. Hope you like the Navi!
My husband bought me one, he rides a grom. And is trying to get me into motorcycles lol but anyway I love it. It’s simple and I feel like I’m a rider without worrying about the big stuff. It’s fun for me
can't wait to see, Intake, exhaust, ported heads, big bore kits with these doing 65mph lol
Great video burch !!! 🤙🏽
Thanks dude! 🙏🏻🤘🏻
I would also check how accurate the speedometer is. scooters are usually optimistic.
Came thru my stomping grounds on the winchester route 😎 salute!
My first bike had a kick start, but it was a 1969 Suzuki T500. Seems so weird to see a 2022 street bike with that. I was wondering what that plastic was behind the front wheel that's cool that it's a storage compartment. It even looked weather sealed. I was curious about these, but i think I'll just get a Grom.
I owned an navi here in India for couple of years its very peppy excellent handling cute and smart.Hope it does well in America
Back in '03, I bought a two-stroke Zuma. Kept it for 10 years and enjoyed every mile. Had a Metro (too small), and a few Chinese 50's since. Every time I rode them, I wondered when they'd fail, which they did in their own unique way. Got a Navi now and I'm feeling that Zuma vibe again but maybe a little better. Being a Honda, I hope to get as much life from this one. Just for perspective, in that time, I've also had a Rebel, Silver Wing and a Spyder RS.
I was actually looking at one of these in February and was gonna get one from Twiggs, but like you said I could understand that whole assembly fee. Plus I’m like 15 minutes from there so all that freight and shipping was for the birds, ended up just getting a little 250r. Be safe out there 💯🙏🏾
a wr250r nice
Bikes are shipped in crates and must be assembled when they get to the dealer. This takes a number of hours and the dealer must recoup the costs of having to hire and pay someone to unbox, build, and then upon sale get the bike ready to ride by checking tires, adding fuel, filling and charging the battery (unlike cars powersport batteries are kept empty of acid until time of sale so they don't go bad as it only take a few weeks to kill one), check fluids, get running, and make cable adjustments. Dealers have various names for these guys/gals who do this work, but all dealers have them. Building a bike can take a while depending on the model. Plus if it has to be dragged out of a warehouse, that takes more time plus a forklift, all costs the dealers have to spend to get a bike on the showroom. Hence why they charge the fees.
Burch, wish I would've known you were in my area brother, you could've came over and rode the Honda Grom OG, you inspired me to get a Grom lol
Just got mine yesterday. It's awesome
I got my 2022 Grom from Zach at Timbrook Honda, cool dude and great little bike. Having a blast riding it around downtown Frederick MD.
Navi is a fun little bike and I like the storage box. Use mine as cheap way to go to work and run errands around town. Was sold on the price and how there's no chain to adjust with a big plus for the automatic drive system.
When he said drum breaks! ☠️😂 I was not expecting that!
Great addition to your stable.
Thanks! We’re pumped!! 🙌🏻🤘🏻🙏🏻
If the cvt takes same parts as like a pcx or ruckus you can get some performance transmission parts. My pcx did a top speed of 55mph with me on it, I put a ncy trans kit in it for 500 bucks and now it tops out at 67mph and maybe could squeeze more from it if I played with the springs and rollers.
My PCX goes 67mph stock.
@@danasymosky5609 they might have a 125

LifeOfBurch (LifeOfAwesomeness) 😎 Lol! Awesome review. Please do a reliability video once you put some miles on it. Really looking at buying one for myself.
It's a small Honda
It will run forever with timely oil changes. Firs man to pop the valve cover will likely be next century to get it to run on synthetic gasoline or something
Thank you! this was great!
Wow, I'm liking everything about that bike, even the supposedly bad things about it, and it looks cool as hell
Agreed. A carburetor on something as simple as this isn't a deal breaker at all. It isn't like it's a rack of four. Anyway, chances are no one with a Navi will ever NEED to touch their carb. It is, IMO a moot point for what you ARE getting for so little money.
Burch great review ✌🔥💯
Thanks brotha!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Haha, that’s awesome! My cousin owns both Honda Timbrook dealerships. Anyway keep up all the great content
Are they getting monkeys anytime soon?
@@nonexistant2k3 To be honest with you, idk. but I do know there probably will be some in the next 6 months. Just call and you can probably just get one ordered in.
@@tylerbehrens6593 already got a deposit down there. Just wondered if you had inside info. It's hard getting a bike right now.
@@nonexistant2k3 Yeah, I feel ya. Well the good news is you put a deposit down so you will get it eventually.
Navi! Love the intro on this one haha
Did it almost feel like you’ve seen the into before? 🤔👀😂
😂 I had the same problem with the floppy mirrors when I brought mine home today.
Great video!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥 great video
Dope video. I watched the whole thing with 0 intention to ever purchase a Navi 🤣
LOB: “has a screwdriver and a wrench.. what else could you need.”
2 minutes later
“I do not have a wrench “
😂😂😂 ok fair enough
Now I really want one! Thanks for the video. Curious, how much you weight, just wondering because I know for my city it's a bit slow and I don't want all my extra weight to be limiting me to getting up to "speed limit" so I don't get too many cars behind me mad. That looked so much fun btw...Hope to get one this summer if I can find one. The price point is so on point for what I can spend. Wish I could afford more for a bigger bike but I just need to have some fun around the streets and do a little exploring.
He said in the video he's 155 lbs
I took my intermediate test to get my endorsement on a Honda Grom and I'm 6ft but super skinny so it was kinda small for me but the right weight for me. I'm glad I took the Grom cuz I needed to learn the clutch but damn this woulda helped me as a complete beginner only riding dirt bikes a few times xD I now daily my first bike a 03 Kawa Ninja 636cc. I must say though this glorified scooter looks fun compared to a scooter. Something about sitting in a seat without my legs wrapped around the bike gives me anxiety so I could get down with this. That kick start is sick too!
The reason it's a scooter in motorcycle clothing is that the motor is mounted to the swingarm. The motorcycle configuration has ups and downs. Feels to me like foot pegs give you better handling than a floorboard. But you might miss the leg shield and rear rack/top box. I wish we could get stuff they only sell in Asia-Pacific markets, like the hyper-underbone bikes that are big in the Philippines. Basically they're like sportier Super Cubs.
If it’s like my Shadow, which is also carbureted, when you full throttle it, it accelerates slowly. But if you slowly roll on the throttle, it actually accelerates faster
I saw a few of your Navi videos, and it inspired me to find one. Two days later, and $2000.00 poorer, I found a used one with 450 miles on it. The previous female owner dropped it in gravel and sold it . I think its just cosmetic damage. Ive owned mopeds and scooters and motorcycles in the past, but this one is probably the most fun!
So it's a Vision 110 without disc in the front and some plastics between your legs. Gotcha.
I had one, eventually swapped it for a Rebel 500 as a runaround but never had any complaints :)
Polini has a variator for it, ncy has a clutch for it. mallossi has springs for it, dr pulley has sliders for it, mikuni and polini has bigger carbs for it. Scooter swap shop is working for a cam for it, air intakes are out for it, exhausts etc. The Navi already has a ton of mods out for it and way more to come. You wanna get this thing to boot scoot and boogie get at it. Ive already dropped over a grand on my Navi mods. So much fun times coming.
Yea I’ve looked into all of that, but by the time I do all that I’ll have way more money into it than I have into my Grom and still be slower and less capable 😂 For now the plan is just cosmetic stuff if anything…but then again that’s how it always starts 😅
@@LifeOfBurch For me I have multiple types of bikes and I customize all of them to what i want them to be. It doesnt matter how many thousands i pour into them. I enjoy the modding part the most. I always have realistic expectations on what I can do. Also i dont sell my bikes so for me it isnt a waste as these are just my play toys to have fun with and nothing else. i dont commute on a bike they are just there to enjoy on the weekends. So I go all out and get as creative as I can get. You dont even want to know how much ive spent on a complete custom Ruckus build. I could buy 4 Navis with that lol. Well have fun and enjoy.
Great vid! I’m thinking about buying one myself. I live in Virginia I was wondering do I need to take the motorcycle class to operate this ?
Yes you need a class M for this bike wished we could just use a regular driver license.
I was looking at one of these for my daughter to cruise around on. I have a 2022 grom, but thats too much for her. The Navi looks like what we need. I watched a few other videos before this one, but this was the first that showed real world scenarios and problems you might find. Thank you!
I love the addition of the jeopardy theme in this video
I like the Green :) , Navi seems like a chill bike. I bet they will keep their value and need hardly any maintainance,
its not a motorcycle. bike yes lol
In my area they actually are selling used for more than the msrp but they are hard to get near me too
I wonder if you could make grom forks fit on this little machine. Or how long it will take for an after market scene to pop up for them. Didn't take long for the grom so I'm sure this will pick up quick with the cheap price!
awesome little machine it looks like, have been thinking about one of these, short commutes, do you know anything about
Honda NC750X
Great review
To fix the mirror, you said you didnt have a wrench but what about the little wrench in the tool kit under the seat you had just shown seconds prior? Lol😂😂
I'm actually getting one from the same dealership! I live in Lancaster, kinda was hoping to ride it back roads back which is like a 4 hour ride. Do you recommend I do the U-Haul instead?
The wrench for the mirror is in the tool kit under the seat.
Dang, fruit stand ladies were thirstin' for Burch 🤣
Right?! 😂😂😂
They definitely wanted some "¡ La verga del Gringo!" Or "La culebra de amor¡" 🤠
Great series of videos, I'm getting one in a couple weeks. I freaking love how you can buy all the available colors of plastics for a few hundred or less and switch out in less than an hour.
Something I'm not understanding though is why people say the headlight is powered by AC current? The electrical schematic in the factory shop manual says the bulbs are all 12 volts. Are they 12 volts AC? Because why if so?
Looks like a blast for sure.
It’s too much fun! 🙌🏻🤘🏻
For the loose mirror ... there is a tool kit under the seat ...
you got that top 20 best cheese voiceover voice
I owned big to little bikes. I love the Navi. One downside is misrepresented MPG.
Kick Starting is like pull starting “a lawn Mower “ ……SAME BRO 😎
Wait…how funny would it be to switch the Navi to pull start?! 😂😂😂
Dude that thing is a blast
My first time riding when I was 13 years old I test out Honda Ct90 I rebuild it back 1973 and never need M license then!
Such a cool memory!! Those little CT90’s are badass! 🙌🏻🤘🏻
The only issue I see with the linked brakes is a new rider will get use to it and when they get on another bike they might have to reteach there habits
Have you thought to open up the exhaust a bit to see if you get much hp differences?
That's was cool u helping that dude with his Colman atv
QUESTION? I have a Rebel 1100 like you. Would you buy a Grom or Navi if money doesn’t matter.
Mine loves to go off-road. I’m 200 lbs and I can only get it up to 45-50 mph. I can’t wait until someone starts making a big bore kit to get this thing up to 55+. Btw don’t be mad at Honda for the dealer fees. Those are set by all of the dealers.
crazy i’m just finding you and i go to school in frostburg 10 mins from cumberland and live in baltimore lol
Nice video! What is your inseam?
Some of the vinyl packs they have for these are pretty cool
I have a Honda Metropolitan and the front forks are the same they will not handle even a one inch transition. Like pulling into a drive or going over a bridge it is very harsh. The rear suspension is fine and doesn't bottom out.
