Hi, I’m Tim Ekelund and I want to thank you for the opportunity to help you with one of the most important decisions in your life: The successful purchase or sale of your home.
I am a dedicated family man and spend as much my free time with my children and wife as my real estate career allows. We love to travel, enjoy the beach and boating activities. I am an active member of a Rotary group and love to give back to the community.
In retrospect, the decision to make Pensacola my permanent home was the best move of my life.
In summary, I believe I bring something completely different to the table that separates me from other real estate agents, and would love an opportunity to work closely with you to sell your home.

Thanks this was great! I plan on moving to Pensacola soon. I thought I heard you say your a real estate agent. If you are it would be great to talk to you and gets some information. Appreciate it!
Thank you for making this
I am confused. How are you a life long resident yet in the video you say clear you never heard of it till you moved there and you are from the desert in Arizona? That makes zero sense my guy.
@@Reacherthebreacher what do you mean
I've read that crime is on the rise... this is a big deterrent for my wife and I to move there. Is this accurate?
I moved to Pensacola, Florida in November and i love it. I have a daughter with special needs and they are so amazing with accommodating her with all of her needs I will never leave Pensacola.
Awesome, thank you for the comment. If there is anything we can ever do, let us know. I love it as well.
@@LivinginPensacolaFlorida Me and my family we love Greek food is there a nice Greek restaurant around here?
I'm from Atlanta, but I use to go fishing there all the time. Do they still have the little kids amusement park on, I think it's Palafox?

If you live there and traffic and parking are a hassle - how is public transportation or bicycling?
My uncle moved to Florida at 22 and hadn’t left since. He always shared that love to me and now at 21 Im making that same move to Florida.
These videos really help me weigh which town is the one for me!
Awesome
Pls tell me which cities you like there.. thanks
The fact that you are from San Diego and love it is what makes my heart sing🤩
People from CA think it's better here but I'm trying to convince my husband that Florida is the place for is weather wise and politically
Don't get me wrong, I love San Diego but Pensacola and this area is phenomenal. The people, culture, beaches and lifestyle are great. Yu should definitely come check it out. This area is different than south Florida.
I was born in San Diego and used to live in Pensacola (at the whim of my mom who moved us all over). I'd be happy to settle down in either location if I could afford it. Mission Beach and Pensacola Beach are the fun giant bath tubs of my childhood. Equally gorgeous.
Moved here in August off ft Pickens - the people! The people here are the sweetest! People just start having conversations with you - that didn’t happen in St. Louis where I moved from. The nature is goregous - the beaches - the monarchs migrating - there’s millions of them in my backyard! It’s truly a magical place and I can’t see myself happier anywhere else
Yes, love it!
Cons of living in Gulf Breeze: the constant traffic, the bridge not being fixed yet.
I'm with ya. I live in East Hill land now my commute is so long when it used to be so short.
Me and my wife are in the navy and getting stationed in pensacola in 5 weeks! We can’t wait!! Lived in Massachusetts for most of our lives so this will be a breath of fresh air
Thank you for your service. If there is anything we can do please don't hesitate.
@@LivinginPensacolaFlorida thank you !
I used to live in CT 7 years ago when i moved down here with my wife, i don't think i could ever live up north again, the people are nicer, the traffik is so nice down here, like what they consider traffik up north we consider a very nice drive. The beaches are great the rivers are so much fun, you are gonna have a blast
Hi from England! I've been about 20 times to Pensacola, lovely place, people and a brilliant way of life. Not so many cons about this place. My parents even own property in Pensacola, hopefully we'll all get over there again when Covid is over.
Hey hey, that's cool.
As a Pensacola native since the 70s, born and raised. This is spot on. Pensacola is great, it's old time charm with a beach vibe. Always something to do too.
Appreciate ya
Where is the cheapest apartments to rent until i get established. I have no credit, but 6 grand in the bank. I need an apartment that will take me without a job. Id pay 3 months ahead so i have enuff time to find a job. I have a cdl so high paying job is easy for me, and eventually i will move to nicer area but for now im happy with cheap ghetto apartments. Can u help me out?
Our family always enjoy the flyovers and practice of the Blue Angels.
So awesome
My wife and I used to live on Maui, too expensive to retire there, moved to Austin, Texas, but just purchased a small lot near Sacred Heart Hospital and plan to build a home there in 2022 - love the downtown nightlife; the area beaches make us forget Maui; strong sense of community, conservative values and Blue Wahoos baseball make it an incredible place to call our future home! Great video - shared it with friends and hit that like button, too

An honest con not mentioned is the lack of affordable housing and/or lack of jobs that pay enough to afford the average housing cost. While it is true that the average housing cost in Pensacola is relatively low, it is also true that the average wages in Pensacola are too low to afford the available housing.
Thank you for watching and commenting. There actually is quite a bit of affordable housing. We are actually going to do a video on that next week. Also according to the US Census Bureau, Escambia county has a median household income of $48,000. I think that is pretty good. There are tons of jobs here!
Affordable housing? Uhhhh. It’s way more affordable then the west coast. Houses over there are a dream.
@@_ForestFae_ true
YES
While there are jobs, high paying professional jobs are in short supply, although that situation is improving in recent years. A great many college graduates have to move away to make use of their degrees.
Beautiful and informative video! Amazing beach! Thank you for sharing!
Saville Quarter!!! The mini French Quarter. Navarre has the longest pier in the US. Maybe the world. And this is the extension of Cajun food area. Plus tons O seafood. Joe Patties is da bomb.
Great comment, thanks @old gamer dufe

Great video. Thanks for the insights!
My pleasure :)
I’m from Puerto Rico! And I really want to try something new. But I can’t live without going to the beach. That’s why I’ve been doing a research about this place. This video helped me a lot!♥️

Lived here for 6 months on navy base, will be moving back in 4 years. This place is gorgeous. It’s everything you want, big city, small city, good bars (badlands #1), New Orleans and Biloxi were awesome. Does have some military a holes but take that over a ghetto city. West of P’cola can be somewhat scary but honestly enjoyed every second of this florida city.
Just moved here. God wants me and my mom here. The plane trips were so smooth and everything fell into place on the day of the flight, and the months leading to moving day... it just fell into place. I'm in ferry pass.
We are glad you are here. Thanks for watching.

Great video... hit all the high spots. Love the editing and b.g. music. Would like to see one feature other Pensacola "Pro's", like our fast rising University of West Florida, our outstanding health care facilities; and our great and conveniently located airport that offers non-stop flights to Denver, Miami, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and 15 other major cities.

This was a good review,I'm a local,Joe Patty needed to be mentioned,it's the best place to get seafood to eat or prepare yourself they have a wine shop also,it's on the water on Main St. and yes this place makes it hard to want to live anywhere else love my town!
I will be doing a video on Joe Pattis by itself....it deserves that because it is so good. Thanks for watching
I went to Joe patty over a weekend when I was working nearby on an assignment in Mobile AL and boy was that shrimp delicious.
Shhhhh there are somethings we need to keep quite
i am considering moving to pensacola and i found this video very helpful
We loved Pensacola. Biggest Con for us though were the wages. Companies tend to not pay very well thus you have a lot of neighborhoods which need a lot of tlc. I have lived all over the country and I would say that issue is fairly common for beach cities. My wife and I only moved in order to find higher paying jobs. I agree with the location. Only 10 hours to Dallas or Houston, 12 to San Antonio, 5 to Jacksonville, 5 to Atlanta, and about 6.5 to Nashville. Another con though is that traveling by air from Pensacola tends to be a bit pricey.
Thanks Terry....
Earn more.
I agree but Pcola's economy is structured for young Navy families and the Navy paycheck.
This is so true. I moved away from Pensacola for a better opportunity and my income quadrupled. Growing up there, I never realized how economically depressed it was until I moved away. Now when I go back to visit, all I notice are the things Pensacola lacks compared to other cities.
i like the video because i am not even from florid but for a week i knew almost all the streets in Pensacola.
Haha, thanks for watching and the comment...
Yeah, we love coming down and relaxing and then driving to New Orleans for a couple of days
This city is great for older people in my opinion. If you are young and would like to have a lot of resources for you and your family this is not the place. I like Pensacola because the beach’s remind me of home in San Diego California, but it is definitely for older people. Great vid, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching and the comment. I lived in SD for a while, loved it....bartended downtown
that is true but pensacola Beach is party central but once you go over the bridge gulf brezze is all retirement and rich neighborhoods.
Very helpful info. Thanks :)

I’ve been in Pensacola all my life and the beach is not the beach anymore. Between hotels and business and no sand dunes things have changed dramatically. I don’t enjoy the beach anymore. It’s still beautiful and nice when the tourists aren’t around. But then again I’ve lived here for 40 years. Awesome video man. Good info for people whom visit man.
Thanks for sharing! I appreciate your comment. :) I've lived here for years now and I'm loving every minute of it. still do... :)
I don’t even go over there anymore. Haven’t been in 20 years and don’t ever plan on going. Not ever again. I’m 63, my wife is 63 and both of us knew what it was like for us in our teenage years/20s etc. it was 100% better. We could ride three wheelers on the beach back then, we could ride horses, 4x4.
Over at what is called Fort McRee, you still could all the way to the very end and you could stand and see Fort Pickens. My mothers side of the family has been here for 4 generations. Not my fathers side. What I tell people I am an accident.
The only reason I was born here is my dad was a Navy captain during the Korean War and after the war he got stationed here and met my mom and she got pregnant with me after they met one night at a Marine/Navy Officers Ball. They got married. My dad is, well was from NW Montana. Beautiful little town of Eureka.
Which I have a lot of family in Northwest Montana and SW Montana and I go back quite often. I don’t work here, never have except when I was a teenager. I work in North Dakota Montana and Wyoming and I much prefer that and I prefer the weather. I have a home I inherited over off Scenic Highway, I rent out to a cousin of mine that is a helicopter pilot offshore in Louisiana.
@@garlandremingtoniii4679 yup, they’ve over developed it and keep on building. Our beaches and Land are disappearing.

i lived in pensacola for 5 years, i would say your con about the food is spot on. if you like seafood you'll be in heaven but there's hardly any variety of mexican food. also the traffic on hwy 98 is ridiculous and they need to add more lanes. with that said though, i have been all over the world and i still miss pensacola, i may move back some day.
Nice! I appreciate your comment. Yes, Pensacola is an nice, great and awesome place to live. If there is anything u need I'm always here to help ya :)
Traffic is brutal especially if you are in one of these neighborhoods out near Perdido Key. I have literally had to wait 15 minutes to turn left onto Gulf Beach Highway to go east into town.
The seafood is fabulous

Pensacola is also a major military town. Rich with aviation history it really adds to the charm of the city. Lots of patriotism in Pensacola.

Moved to Pensacola 15 yrs ago. I have a BBA in Marketing and minor in Geography and French.
Jobs here, you must know someone to get a good paying job.
I am still seen as an outside. NFCU hired me at $13/hr with exceeds expectations on their Performance reports. Worked there 4 yrs until I was placed in a satellite location and get sick - alot of building have mould here and I have COPD. The building has been condemned but was still used. Had to leave on a work injury - mould cause alot of illness.
Got some hotel jobs. Offered Asst Gen Mgr of a chain hotel - $9.50/hr.
Other chains working overnight $10/hr.
In 15 yrs in Pensacola, I have 4 yrs of medical coverage - jobs here don't offer (forget any paid holidays), I average about $18k/yr full time.
Crime - I lived in Warrington and eventually sold my home as the crime was out of control during Sheriff Morgan's tenure. Had county commissioner at my home to discuss drug dealing, prostitution, theft, and general trash allowed. He said they way county is set up, sheriff isn't responsible back to commissioners. Sheriff found it easier and profitable to go after tourist at the beach vs the actual crime hot spots.
Before you move here, look at the shift in population FROM Escambia County (Pensacola) to other counties. Everyone moving to Santa Rosa.
Pensacola newest problem is the homeless camps on Cervantes, Davis Hwy, Mobile Hwy, W St, Jackson St - these are real street with trash from camps and people sleeping on sidewalks.
I will soon be moving from this area. Yes Pensacola is in Florida but called 'Lower Alabama'. Last ai heard, Escambia County is the poorest county in FL and had the highest STD rate. You have a decent chance at getting shot at a random drive by.
Also Pensacola has US 3rd worst Superfund EPA site that no one is talking about - 3910 N Palafox St.
I moved to Santa Rosa County Florida 22 years ago and I'm never leaving
Love it! Thanks for watching 🤙

Moved here about 6 months ago to attend UWF, I have mixed feelings, I live kind of out in the boondocks and it's like a 20 minute drive to the nearest grocery store or restaurant, and it's a bit crowded for my tastes, coming from a county with more sq milage and about half as many people. Also I can't wait till they get the bridge fixed, made getting to the beach a lot quicker haha
I hope you are enjoying UWF. We all can't wait for the bridge....keep kicking butt
Other pros of Pensacola are yearly Rennaisance fairs with jousting, belly dancing, fire breathers etc,.(pre covid), Penacon which has been getting bigger every year spilling out of the convention center to local theaters and hotels. Speaking of theaters, Saenger theater is great. They host the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra and a variety of plays and other events. And the Civic center has big name bands, hockey, monster trucks, gun shows etc.
McGuires Irish bar and grill is famous for large portions, their homemade beers, live Irish music, different themed rooms and of course the million dollar bills hanging from the ceiling.
Christine I need you on the next video....Let me know when we can interview you. I love what you said. I always think about things after the fact.
Born in Tucson, AZ, most of my life and currently in Phoenix. Also lived in San Diego from 95 to 2005 or 10 years. Major Cons: no jobs, no professional culture, very low salaries, and bad shopping.
Tons of jobs, you just have to want to work which a lot of people don't! Not sure what you consider low salary but I know a lot of people that do well. Shopping? You can go to destin or orange beach if you are looking for LV...
Retail jobs. Try being an attorney, physician, CPA, chemical or electrical engineer snd getting a job there-only low-paying, retail jobs there.

40 years in phoenix, and in can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen mode. Always loved florida since a kid. Vacationed in Miami, Orlando/Disney, Sanibel/Captiva, Tampa/Clearwater/St Pete. Only now that I'm a little older/retired have I wanted something different and visited the emerald coast for the first time in 6/2023. We flew in to Pensacola and stayed in Destin for a week. So impressed with the whole emerald coast. Seems no where else in florida have I yet to find those fluorescent turquoise waters with the bright quartz sand. The best I've seen in USA for sure! knew when I saw it and felt the vibe of this area this is where I want to retire. I think beside panama city I could be happy anywhere along this coast. Hoping this the last and final summer in phoenix, can't take it. Need to trade in desert for beach

My wife and I lived in Pensacola for 5 1/2 years and we hated it. Couldn't wait to move... The housing market has gone up. The crime has gone up... You can't tell what's the ghetto from the middle class... We moved 50 mins away and found a way better house for cheaper the price. The only thing we miss is how late restaurants stayed opened.
Sorry you had a bad experience.
The weather is nice, really nice only several months of the year. The humidity is a bear, muggy and buggy. In May come the horrible yellow flies for several months, then its July and hot, unbearably hot and or tons of rain. Then come the biting flies in July and jellyfish and that is that, unless another horrific hurricane blows through, just saying.....! Beaches are beautiful when conditions are favorable.
You nailed it
Thanks for watching. I have to disagree with you. I don't find the humidity is a bear, muggy or buggy. Go to south Florida and compare that. I do agree the biting flies can be annoying but they have spray for those things, lol....Jellyfish are bad for a very short period and last year was the first horrific hurricane in over 15 years.....just saying

A con is that the city builds and builds new developments without building the necessary infrastructure to deal with the increased capacity. Plus, developers are out of touch with how much $ people make here like someone said below wages are lower. Wages haven't risen with cost of living. People who make modest incomes are being pushed out in favor of new ugly eye sore developments. We are letting them ruin our neighborhoods by building on every open surface they can and killing the ecology. They said the hurricane damage was worse due to all of the development because those kinds of yards do nothing to stop flood water. It's a mess. I love it here because its historic and it's beautiful. So calm. Great live music community.
The city gov wants us to grow rapidly and act like a big city so they are bringing in all these big city developers. Pensacola isn't a big city, that's what I love about it and what most people love about it. Move to a big city if you want! Pensacola is losing its charm.
I pay 900 a month for my modest home in the tanyard and up all around me they are building 200K homes. They don't even blend in with the neighborhood. We need more nature and community, not studer.
Thank you and I agree the infrastructure does need to catch up. Appreciate you watching.
The best band in Pensacola is KALIUGA!!!
Their ep, TROUBLED DAUGHTERS, came out yesterday! Check them out! They’re on Spotify and all that jazz, even UA-cam!
Where do ya'll play?
I'm from Pensacola, the con I don't like is they build houses in neighborhoods with ridiculous prices. Many folks can't afford to live in there areas due to increase of property taxes.
Thanks for watching. At the current time there are 136 properties under $200,000 in Pensacola alone. While I do agree with your statement there are still many affordable places :)
The best pro of living here is:
GODZILLA'S PENSACOLA THEME
Its coming!
Yesss indeed!
What godzilla pensacola theme?
@@areallyusefulengine2764 Godzilla attacks Pensacola in the GvK movie and his theme was dubbed Pensacola, Florida
Found this vedio extremely helpful. Where are some homes for sale exactly here?
Thanks for watching. Please feel free to reach out and we can get you any info you need.
Lookin 2 move to Pensacola fl from ohio in 2 weeks having trouble locating a house for rent
Did you move to Pensacola? I'm in Ohio and it looks nice there
Conveniently forgot to mention Pensacola has some of the highest crime rates in the entire state, the job wages suck, and the cost of living just keeps going up (but not the wages). This is where old ppl retire or middle income families relocate on military orders or with whatever company they work for. If you're not middle class forget it, otherwise you'll either live in one of the MANY gang-infested ghettos or live in a car
Thanks for watching and the comment :)
Just depends on what part you go to. Tell these people to be careful cause there are some dangerous parts too bro.
where? I’m considering Pensacola as well
Thanks for watching and commenting....Like I have said, just like any city there are parts that may have more crime than others. I always recommend for people to check with the local police department if they are concerned about a certain area.
Where you thinking of moving to....I can answer questions for you
@@LivinginPensacolaFlorida we were thinking of moving to the Southwest side of Pensacola or the Pace area...what is your take on both of these? I've tried to do some research and cannot find much info. Thanks 😏
@@heatherclark5219 pace is a separate city and county, if you weren’t aware 😄
as of today 7/29/2021: I am out of state, never been to Pensacola and offered to buy a house in Pensacola (missed the offer, someone bought higher). I can tell you that Pensacola is expensive now. The price is super high compared to most hot market like Califonia and WA. house price in Pensacola was double in the last 2 years. The main reason is out of state buying, it will quickly become a vacation town with expensive homes. As of today (yes today) i saw price drop across the board on those hot states, expect Pensacola will be the same soon.
I am here to help you so you don't miss out ;)
Why didn't you mention Cajun food or Joe Patties???? And as far as traffic, Have ya been on I10 in LA? That is traffic. Or in Destin during season? With the construction? Yes I live in Midway. Lived in Niceville and Desin. This place is awesome.
Oh forgot about Crab Island.
I will be doing a lot more videos on food, haha
Can you a video of worst and best neighborhoods
Unfortunately I can't....that is personal opinions as well. Thanks
I miss Pensacola
come back
Don't forget about the toll roads .... those can be costly and will shock you if you don't know about them ahead of time. -- Traffic everyone always mentions traffic, come live up here in B'ham the traffic is crazy stupid .... from Florida line up to B'ham the accidents are just crazy, I guess it's because it's a one way in and one way out of Florida so all the traffic flows right on through .... with a lot of bumps .... All the times I have been down there the traffic to me was never an issue at all...maybe I am just used to it......"Shrugs"
Thanks for watching, we only have 1 toll here and is very avoidable. Most people don't even use it. Traffic is a breeze here unless trying to get to the beach during the peak season.
I'm in love with this city.
Awesome
Florida's nice, my sister lived in Pensacola Florida, for years, I'd travel down every summer, hit the beach and see the blue angels, on the beach, she moved back to Virginia, in 2020, I shamed her ,I told her she needs to move back, she lived 5 minutes from the beach,
Oh bummer, come visit :)
Moving there in may. Cant wait!
Awesome, you will love it...
Welcome to the tropical paradise!
Hun pls ✋ before the disappointment
