TuDo Vietnamese is one of my absolute favorite restaurants! When I moved away from Pensacola in 2006 leaving TuDo was one of the worst parts of leaving!
Note: The only disappointment I've had from TuDu is that they a stopped serving actual grilled pork. Their grilled pork wraps were the best I'd ever had and now they are gone. 🥺
@@YakMotley we did!! It was amazing!! Thank you for the response!! Love your channel!! All my family is from Pensacola... downtown and west Pensacola. Not many of them left these days but your channel keeps me connected to a lot of great memories!!
I was born & raised in Pcola, and you definitely included some of the best! I would add 'Joe Caribe's Restaurant and Bakery' off 9th Avenue to the mix - They're serve authentic Caribbean food and have a killer bakery to boot, food is always super fresh and the portions can easily be 2 meals = )
Saigon is definitely better than tu do and golden palace. I love Saigon's pho. I would never go to tu do though. Tudo has been shut down for health code violations many times before. Plus I knew one of their old cooks there and i've been told they have a roach infestation. I've even been told that from other Vietnamese people that have worked there as well. Also with crawfish when the season opens up for it I'd go to Maria's seafood. Maria's seafood has really good crawfish when they do have it. You can get it steamed there and even have a choice of putting different flavored butters on the crawfish.
Come to Jacksonville and check out Southern Charm, a lovely hole in the Wall restaurant that is in the top 10 out of 1800 restaurants. Two employees. Best fried shrimp anywhere.
There's always the ones that know locally as of decades ago, and then there's always new ones popping up. Today I was pointed out a new seafood place in Gulf Breeze Florida, and it's next to one of my favorite local Mexican restaurants. I definitely agree with you about "Saigon" best Vietnamese food, fantastic soup Pho bowls, and it's in an offshoot place of Asian supermarket. Great fresh vegetables and whatever have and want. Thanks for the ones I didn't know of. I love ethnic food. If it's good, I'm eating it. Good food is a southern tradition. If it's good? It becomes US southern food. Alot of people who love to eat well. Cultivates the palates.
the vineyard used to be in that place where ozones is, i miss it so much. i had a delicious black and bleu burger while we watched drunk hamlet, it was hilarious.
Love the video I come constantly for work and have been looking for new restaurants to try. I’ll be checking out these soon. What do you recommend for Jamaican food?
I'm not sure how your videos popped up on my feed. I saw the last name and I was like sure enough, I remember this man from high school. Checked out quite a few of your videos, really good camera work, editing, and content.
This is a great "secret" video for people who don't want to go to the same palafox street or big chain around the mall ( I do love Tijuana Flats). You should make another video adding more or doing reviews of the experience? I recommend trying End of the line cafe, the Ticket sports bar on davis highway ( they have a full kitchen, and a food truck at their Gregory street location), Single Fin Cafe, Aunt Katie's, Coffee Cup, Joe's Caribe, Santinos, Brown Bagger food truck, CJ'S, A great video would also be the breweries or bars around Pensacola that aren't on the palafox strip or beach?
Is that the Oyster Bar? We used to go to the Oyster Bar near the front gate of the Naval Air Station, so my question is, the one at Innerarity Point the same restaurant that we used to go to by the gate of the Naval Air Station? That sounds redundant but I hope you know what I mean. Thank you!
@@bonniecurtis7391 No the Oyster Bar is the one on stilts to the left when you go over the bridge into Perdido. The Pointe is to the right a few blocks past Publix/BK. Also the Oyster Bar isn’t the same as the Navy Blvd one (sadly!) they’re two different menus/families.
Going to Bonelli's Italian tonight with my son♡! Thx for the recommendations!! P.s. back from vacation...Bonelli's was, eh not the best for me...but our best breakfast spot everyday was the Coffee Cup best breakfast joint!!!

I just returned from 2 weeks in Florida. 1 week in SW Fl and 1 week in Destin: first time in the panhandle. Every restaurant in SW Fl was amazing. Every dinner / lunch restaurant in Destin was highly disappointing. Destin was very touristy and I felt like there must be good places but all of the apps were tourist biased. We are a #1 and #2 places and hated it. Do you have any insights into Destin area restaurants?
Currently live in Arizona but grew up in Crestview(just north of Destin) until I was almost 30. When I was younger the Destin area wasn’t as well known as it is today and it was really beautiful and quiet. I went back in February on vacation and it’s absolutely gross now. It mirrors the type of tourist-y stuff you see in other parts of Florida. My favorites were always Buffalos Reef over in Fort Walton(best wings in the country/15 minutes from Destin), Slick Micks, and Thai House. All three are(or were) locally owned and operated. The Reef gets a visit every time I’m “home”.
@@jontolar6838 I don't want to bash Destin. It is what it is. But the first week on Marco Island in October was great. The Marco / Naples area felt like a town. Nice weather and outstanding local fish. Things I can't get at home. Arriving in Destin gave the impression of every beach town even up north. It reminded me of New Jersey or Maryland. Nothing really said "Florida". Had fish in 2 top rated restaurants and it as no different from what I get in western PA. It didn't have that fresh fish taste or texture. The best part was boating. We belong to a boat club and it was great getting out on the water and the people we met working the Marinas was the only feel of local Destin that we experienced. There were some very nice things about Destin. But it lacked any sense of a true American town. When I visit a place that's what I want. Not the cookie cutter tourist experience. I wish they would have done a better job preserving the old fishing town roots alongside the development of the tourist industry.
Definitely going to try them all first hand. I was surprised one of my favorites didn’t make the list Frisky Dolphin at the bottom of the the bridge just past the water tanks on the right hand side going to the beach.
In the Mexican category I gotta throw in El Asador on Davis hwy . They just got a 2nd location in the Raceway on Brent. The tacos are amazing!
