hello my dear sorry for the late reply no i don't use egg in my sauce you can use if you like and to prevent the sour you can add some cream(cooking cream or fresh cream) to the sauce .

AJourney 08 it is really easy i hope you give it a try :) and it's normal to thickened when it cold don't forget to add water to the yogurt .
