I think that the reason that Sun and Moon Pokédex is so brutal is that the Rotom actually knows what happens, and doesn’t have a filter like the professors.
Also, there's the fact that Rotom IS a pokemon. It cares about what happens in nature, it doesn't care about silly interactions with humans, its favorite pancakes or other things we find interesting. Nature, brutality, suffering, the cold truth. This is also why the mega dex entries are so much more brutal here, it cares for the pokemon far more than for the humans' desire for power, so it tells what REALLY happens when it mega evolves.

The implication that they were looking for each other even in the afterlife as Pokemon is both extremely sad and sweet. One is just a lost child searching for what was probably their only comfort, while the other is twisted and believed to be abandoned only to find their fury misplaced.

What I'm understanding from all these creepy Pokedex entries is that it makes sense why so many kids are taught to be Pokemon trainers from a young age, and why Pokemon trainers are such a valuable group of individuals. Pokemon are dangerous and downright deadly, but the more people that know how to catch and train them, the less dangerous they get. That's why, despite the fact that some Pokemon are horrifying and can be violent, they are so loved regardless. The world of Pokemon would quite literally, completely fall apart without trainers.
Human civilization of Pokemon world would fall apart, particularly due to Fire, Ghost, Ground, Steel, Water, Dark, Electric and Psychic types. Fighting types would be on that list if most weren't so aloof and passive. The fact the bugs and birds are all gigantic and largely aggressive, that the plants and fungi aren't rooted in place, would also suck, but it's the first "big eight" that would be the primary challenges to human societies. Excadrill, being ground and steel, would be particularly nightmarish not even trying to hurt anyone. It'd be able to soak up dozens of bullets, assuming anyone ever got around to refining metal well enough with those things in the ground, couldn't be poisoned, it would basically be able to take crops and topple structures with magnitude/bulldoze. Houndoom? Kiss your livestock goodbye. Anything early man could hope to control without Pokeballs would be easily roasted by fire wolves with "pursuit" to cause extra damage to anything running away from them! But the Pokémon themselves? They'd cope. They'd miss effort values and Pokemon centers, but they'd probably do just as well with or without trainers. Wartortle can live tens of thousands of years, Gothitelle knows when you're going to die, Groudon is as old as the continents. It's the Pokemon's world, humans just live in it.
17:48 Funnily enough, one of the Journey's episodes has a Banette NOT searching for it's previous owner, but merely wants to reunite with it. Oh yeah the episode also included the formation of a Banette. A BEING BORN FROM AN INANIMATE OBJECT.
I'm quite familiar with the Gengar one that you put at number 2, and I had been assuming it would be number 1. The realization that you had found something even worse that I had missed sent a chill down my spine. Then, you got to Litwick, and I was like, I know this one has some messed up entries because that entire evolution line does, but what specifically could top the infamous Gengar one. Then, you read it, and it sent chills across my entire body. My goodness. That's horrifying.
Man I love creepy pokedex stuff. My favorite isn't necessarily an entry, its just the realization that comes from multiple entries: Deino is just an adorable bumbling baby that bites everything, but when it evolves into Zweilous, it's Pokedex entry from X reads "The two heads do not get along. Whichever head eats more than the other gets to be the leader. " Remember, also, that Deino doesn't evolve until level 50, so imagine gaining a second personality half way through your life that you absolutely hate, and now you have to compete with it for who gets to be in control of your body. But then it gets even darker: Pokemon Scarlet's entry for Hydreigon says "Only the central head has a brain. It is very intelligent, but it thinks only of destruction. " So... by the time Zweilous evolves into Hydreigon, its back to just one head. One brain. One personality. So what happened to the second one? Did the two halves that hated each other forcefully merge into one spiteful being? Did just the leader get to evolve, the other just turning into a mindless puppet arm? Something about that is really creepy to me (and I love it~)
17:04 - In Romania, there's a similar myth regarding a bird, that.. if it lands somewhere around your house and starts singing, it's an omen of either "something good" or "something bad". In most cases, it's "something bad" a.k.a someone in your family.. will die. So when people hear its songs, they try to chase it away.
There’s something similar in America or at least they’re used to be around the time Mark Twain was alive because in Tom Sawyer, apparently if a whippoorwill comes in and lands on your banister and sings, It means somebody in the house is going to die die.
1:15 In the original Japanese version this dex entry says that this is just a famous STORY. This extra context got lost in translation due to character limitation.
To add on to that Hypno entry from FireRed: If you haven't registered a Hypno into your Pokédex prior to the events of the Sevii Islands, then you can catch the Hypno that kidnaps Lostelle in the Berry Forest and essentially document what you just witnessed into the Pokédex, making that entry one that the player personally experienced.
As someone who has played FireRed/LeafGreen for almost 20 years, I didn't know that, so thanks for informing about that, so I can try it, next time I play them
You know. With all the strange and violent ways you can die from a Pokemon. It's a wonder there's any humans left in that world. 10:40 Can forget it was also seen "killing" a Pikachu in some official artwork. Also I think Shedninja is something as well (and once again with the "don't look into it or you'll lose your soul" thing)

8:28 fun fact the jelwes on the misdreavus neck absorb fear meaning there's no one actually inside its just memory's of people screaming I would say the jelwes seems like amethyst because it is said irl that amethyst never forgets and people used to say that you could things said up to 7 years ago if the amethyst was there
Something i found interesting is meowth's interaction whenever he accidentally sees the inside of mimikyu as it went from a nightmare but after they became friends it just became meowth's dream life
Sir, the entry literally told you what Gengar is doing when it kills people. IT WANTS A FRIEND. It's trying to make a new travelling companion. It's lonely.
How's Giratina looking now? It's dex entries say "appears in ancient cemeteries" "banished to the distortion world for its violence" "It's said to live in a world where gravity is distorted and strange" What a gentle babbyyy ❤
As a chandelure fan myself.....uh...uuuhhh...a) I might be in danger and 2) mikey run! Also can we talk about the editing on this video? Editor you are doing great!
I think Cofagrigus has the most evil and spooky Dex entry when it’s combined with Yamask’s entry. Yamask was a person that had died and turned into a Pokémon that weeps at the nature of its existence. Once it evolves, it loses who it once was and becomes a killing machine. I know it’s because Dex entries usually don’t have continuity between evolutions but like that’s messed up, right?
21:13 No wonder why Paras is so aggressive in Legends Arceus, the mushroom must be doing all sorts of irritation to its body that it needs to let it out on something or… Someone
I think its important to mention that bullying isn't just wrong, it capable of ending a life. Speaking as a survivor of both abuse and bullying, i have tried to end my life because of bullying two times over the course of my life. NEVER bully anyone. You don't know what happens to the person at home. You don't know what the person you decide to bully has to endure every single day.
I just wanna say I love the Chandelure in the background! It gives a perfect spooky atmosphere and I also just love Chandelure (and Pokepastas, so there's that too.) Thank you for being part of my childhood, Mikey! :D
Just wanna give a big hand to you for how much effort must go into these Pokédex entry videos. When you sit down and REALLY think about just *how many* Pokémon there are, how many games and thus different Dex entries there are... and then how long it must take to look through them... massive props to you 👍😊👏
I would absolutely love a most brutal entries video. Pokedex entries are one of my favorite parts of the games because, in general, I love when games with distinct creatures go out of the way to explain their roles in ecosystems or even just their habits, and when they suddenly become unhinged is certainly something to witness.
22:23, the most disturbing thing about this entrie is that we know that someone writes information about pokemons in the pokedex, which means that the person who wrote about Gengar heard, knew or worse saw attacks from this pokemon against someone, and probably witnessed it more than once and never saw anyone survive against it...
ngl I wish Pokemon would dial back on the very morbid dex entries, because at what point does it become unrealistic for us to fight, capture, train and befriend some of these guys
6:53 most of Litwick and Lampent’s dex entries discuss them consuming souls/life force to keep their fires burning, so assumedly a home lit up by Chandelures, which would likely have many around the home, would be constantly sapping life from the inhabitants like a pack of leeches
Holy hell the dex entries are bad enough but the way you put them all together with how it was edited and performed actually left me even more terrified of the pokemon world. Bravo boyo.
5:16 The level of ambiguity in Gigantamax Gengar's dex entry when it says "Steals your life" makes me think of two things. Either he kills you, or YOU become Gengar and Gengar becomes you by stealing your body.
12:22 "-futilely murdering people to...do what?" Dude, the very Pokedex entry you just read, said EXACTLY what. They're murdering people to try and make another Gengar, to be their friend.
23:15 i will never forget my 10 year old self watching that episode of the anime where litwik was introduced, it eas my first introduction to characters in a show dying

Wartortle can live tens of thousands of years, Gothitelle knows when you're going to die, Groudon is as old as the continents. It's the Pokemon's world, humans just live in it.
@@insupportofjunhadoassuming that the Pokémon couldn’t figure out effort values themselves.
I assume most cases of deaths caused by pokemon are by wild pokemon who have no reason to be kind to people
@@insupportofjunhadoWell those giant birds can also control the wind and make hurricanes so.
17:48 Funnily enough, one of the Journey's episodes has a Banette NOT searching for it's previous owner, but merely wants to reunite with it.
Oh yeah the episode also included the formation of a Banette. A BEING BORN FROM AN INANIMATE OBJECT.
Vote? I got a grandbaby. Me and Pokemon are getting old together, it feels cozy. I love the wholesomeness of your content.
15:02 Woah! Meowth! Buy her dinner first!
Mimikyu in the anime was male...😅
@@Roman-the-smart-boy56 wouldn't be a first for meowth... remember purrloin?
@JusticeGivenForm Yeah. That was awkward and funny at the same time.
Something about that is really creepy to me (and I love it~)
18 minutes in and I just noticed the Chandelure on the shelf in the background. Great touch.
“With a voice like a human child’s, it cries out to lure adults deep into the forest, getting them lost among the trees”
Phantump, Pokémon Shield.
top 50 violent pokedex entries please. also you nail feeling of fear perfectly coming from this video I was getting chills.
12:02 my guy just wants a friend
17:04 - In Romania, there's a similar myth regarding a bird, that.. if it lands somewhere around your house and starts singing, it's an omen of either "something good" or "something bad". In most cases, it's "something bad" a.k.a someone in your family.. will die.
So when people hear its songs, they try to chase it away.
You’re Românian, so am I!!!❤
And I think I heard that myth before😅
There’s something similar in America or at least they’re used to be around the time Mark Twain was alive because in Tom Sawyer, apparently if a whippoorwill comes in and lands on your banister and sings, It means somebody in the house is going to die die.
1:15 In the original Japanese version this dex entry says that this is just a famous STORY.
This extra context got lost in translation due to character limitation.
interesting to know!
Some of these dex entries sent chills down my spine and I love it
At 22:55, what does that imply about shiny litwick? Do shiny hunters sacrifice particularly young children to it to finally get a shiny?
What I love about the fairy type showcases that even though they're cute and pretty....looks can indeed be....deceiving.
"I know most of you are old enough to vote."
Sir I am almost old enough to run for president lol
but would you run for president?
So 120? /j
I AM old enough... but not crazy enough... XD
This is bar none my favorite video of yours I’ve ever seen. The vibes, the music, lighting, literally everything is so spooky, and I adore it
Mikey you may have not been able to get the most shineys or win the john and Mikey cup. But you still won the best pokemon meme review award. So be proud my friend
8:28 fun fact the jelwes on the misdreavus neck absorb fear meaning there's no one actually inside its just memory's of people screaming I would say the jelwes seems like amethyst because it is said irl that amethyst never forgets and people used to say that you could things said up to 7 years ago if the amethyst was there
Jelwes
Something i found interesting is meowth's interaction whenever he accidentally sees the inside of mimikyu as it went from a nightmare but after they became friends it just became meowth's dream life
Litwick is terrible. Imagine coming back to your child’s crib and seeing a single Litwick, the flame burning high.
That's why I love him and his evolution line
@@ShinyChandelur WHAT

Sir, the entry literally told you what Gengar is doing when it kills people. IT WANTS A FRIEND. It's trying to make a new travelling companion. It's lonely.
I love the random yelp at 7:13
10:25 in the anime it shows that the bannet was once someone's favorite toy but when they moved they forget to bring it
How's Giratina looking now? It's dex entries say "appears in ancient cemeteries" "banished to the distortion world for its violence" "It's said to live in a world where gravity is distorted and strange" What a gentle babbyyy ❤
I absolutely love this type of video, especially from
Michael.
He nails the delivery. Wish there was more of this content.
the past couple of main channel vids have been amazing! The editing, the performance, everything! Michael and team is on a roll rn
As a chandelure fan myself.....uh...uuuhhh...a) I might be in danger and 2) mikey run!
Also can we talk about the editing on this video? Editor you are doing great!
The "cruel battle tactics" are just him leaning over and saying "your mom is disappointed in you."
"Your left side is slighlty lopsided"
He just approches and whispers "The Game" then watches as you realise that you just lost
"I know most of you are old enough to vote" LMAO ACTUALLY SO TRUE
Gengar “trying to make a new traveling companion” is just killing people to try to make friends with their ghosts.
'Litwick is the creepiest Pokemon out there, and to be honest, most f***ed up'
Best Mikey quote ever
21:13 No wonder why Paras is so aggressive in Legends Arceus, the mushroom must be doing all sorts of irritation to its body that it needs to let it out on something or… Someone
7:46 it would be more creepy if they just heard the fire crackling and than drampa’s cry in the background.
13:25 was a nice cheery break in all the disturbing stuff
Mmmmm gold nuggets
Fun fact: did you know that gengar is just a dead clefable?
I think its important to mention that bullying isn't just wrong, it capable of ending a life. Speaking as a survivor of both abuse and bullying, i have tried to end my life because of bullying two times over the course of my life. NEVER bully anyone. You don't know what happens to the person at home. You don't know what the person you decide to bully has to endure every single day.
I understand I was bullied too 🥲
I just wanna say I love the Chandelure in the background! It gives a perfect spooky atmosphere and I also just love Chandelure (and Pokepastas, so there's that too.) Thank you for being part of my childhood, Mikey! :D
Dang, this was such a good video. It's so weird seeing the leader of Team Night Sky without his eyepatch.
Just wanna give a big hand to you for how much effort must go into these Pokédex entry videos. When you sit down and REALLY think about just *how many* Pokémon there are, how many games and thus different Dex entries there are... and then how long it must take to look through them... massive props to you 👍😊👏
"That single red eye, the last thing you'll ever see" *cuts to an ad immediately after*
PEAK COMEDY
I would absolutely love a most brutal entries video. Pokedex entries are one of my favorite parts of the games because, in general, I love when games with distinct creatures go out of the way to explain their roles in ecosystems or even just their habits, and when they suddenly become unhinged is certainly something to witness.
The spoopy aesthetic is lovely
You slayed
22:23, the most disturbing thing about this entrie is that we know that someone writes information about pokemons in the pokedex, which means that the person who wrote about Gengar heard, knew or worse saw attacks from this pokemon against someone, and probably witnessed it more than once and never saw anyone survive against it...
Didn’t expect Mickey to make a video on scary dex entries, but I think the real scariest one is drowzee talking to mickey

ngl I wish Pokemon would dial back on the very morbid dex entries, because at what point does it become unrealistic for us to fight, capture, train and befriend some of these guys
