This is so cool. I'm 59 and will probably never enter a rally ( I live in Scotland, can't even ride off road here without fear of prosecution ), but you have given a huge amount of information for someone who intends to get involved with rallying. Top man 👍
@@BrakeMagazine I wish I had the time and resources to do that! For now I'm just a spectator for now! Despite that I've ridden some of the route on my bike!
Im the last person to usually want to comment on a video, but this was one of the most compelling videos I’ve had the pleasure of viewing. Congratulations Lel, your approach and attitude to life is inspiring - you are certainly wise beyond your years and you deserve every success. Thank you for this fantastic work, keep it up.
Very kind words and I'm glad it captured you. I've been working super hard on be better 🤣 Also, your words on wiseness are very kind. Hindsight can be helpful with that 😁 Thanks for taking the time to comment and watching.
Loved this series LLEl, just brilliant, I really appreciate all the effort that goes into making the films, it's not easy to sort your life out just to race, but adding to that the complication of making brilliant and interesting films, just a stella effort. The one thing I want to say, that I'm gonna ram home in my next film, is racing isn't just about racing, in fact most of the time it's better just to call it a mass participation event. People say to me all the time 'i'm not into racing' - but that's like saying 'I'm not into meeting up with my mates, riding my bike and having the best time I can whilst being totally legal! ' For me racing is my culture, my church, my community, my therapy, my driving force. It's not about winning, being the best and beating other riders, it's about the laughs, the beers, shooting shit, talking bikes, looking at bikes and planning the next adventure. You are so right about the where the gold lies, it is about the memories and being with good people. Hopefully you've showed here that getting involved and taking part in events is so much more than winning races. Now then, first round of the Brit Bike rally Champs at Brechfa at the weekend, I don't think the weather is going to be anything like Greece, think it might be slightly damp!

Great series!! For nutrition on my last rally, I prepared a freeze dried camping food portion in the morning with hot water inside and everything, ducktaped it closed and carried that in my backpack with a spork. Come neutralization, I ate it if I had a few spare minutes, and I felt really good for rest of the stage. Worked like a charm!

Really good watch. Well done, such a great breakdown of what's involved. I did illyria raid last year as a first timer and found it very chilled like this. Not at all the hyped up egos I was expecting. 🤟
good point about the mc360 - i run mid-hard on my 500 and yeah, they require certain terrain to feel 'right', outside of that ideal they are a great all rounder but predictably sketchy - in a good way mind, so long as the rider can gel with that sort of feedback it's an easy tyre to recommend: i will try mid soft next time i think as i really like the tyre as a tyre, its carcass and so on suits me
Absolutely brilliant series Llel…. Great advice and top tips for anyone who is beginning, even at my age it makes me want to get up and go 💪🏼 Cheers mate

really well done, very enjoyable even for one too old, too slow, and too poor, to do now but would have been my way to go round and look at the scenery given the opportunity. this may well be the standard go to tutorial for this type of event. As an ex car rally co-driver which shares a similar navigation methodology perhaps I can shed a little light on "Tulips" the original versions back in the day were a much simplified hand drawn sketched symbol - at the very bottom was a black blob the "bulb" then some kind of usually a roughly upward line or two as the "stalks" one having an arrowhead perhaps the "flower" as today. These would have been far simpler than the digital database symbols used today, hope that makes some sense. Good result. thanks for the vid and story.
