You can cover the front of the drills (and one block off on each side) with deployers and set their filter to whatever "trash"/building block you will end up mining, it will displace any lava and water that it comes across.
I think the drills were in the process of mining the obsidian when you pulled the lever, since the rope jiggled a bit, but yeah entity form would just go through the obsidian on the way back, and mine it on the way back up
Drop the machine one block lower, put drills on the top of it and have it mine the obsidian by going up! If your machine can get stuck by new blocks going up then have it have drills in the top side aswell :D
If you drill down leaving a checkerboard pattern then it would be super quick to mine all 6 sides of the stone blocks to get full blocks not cobblestone
Even widout the exploit it would be possible to make a contraption with holes, leaving pillars that could be collected, I don't think he would need that many stone blocks most of the time, so it should be enough.
that setting on the rope pulley at the start would prevent the drills from getting stuck on obsidian that generates. that, and you can put drills above the chests facing upward to get any on the way back up as well.
I think you put the glue on such that it covered the empty spaces next to the chests. And this means that somehow the obsidian got stuck to it, and then, it's an immovable object
You can also turn different ratios of dirt into different stone types, meaning all materials are technacly infinitely renewable, albeit very slowly unless on an industrial scale
24:28 couldn't you just change the rope pulley to make the contraption below (so in this case the drills and chests that shouldn't get stuck) only a solid block when at its starting position, which you could set at the top and then just reversing it once its at bedrock? This way it shouldn't get stuck on any blocks that form since it would continue to be an entity that could move through blocks even after reaching bedrock
In create entities can't move through blocks, only liquid. Lava is liquid at first and then after the drill passes with its super speed lava turns into obsidian above the drill, obstructing the way back.
Drills not using SUs while moving and being able to carry that much definitely feel like nasty exploits rather than intended features. It doesn't feel like being able to carry a minecart with chests like that should be allowed.
You may want to fix/simplify that ingot mold filler. Remove the depot and just fill the molds while they are on the belt.
