    What are you using as your backing to felt on? I can only find small felt backs and I want to create a larger piece to be framed.

    Hi Annie. I have only just started with the embellisher can you tell me what you generally use as a base fabric. I'm using calico at the moment to practice
    Love you tutorials you are a true inspiration 🤗

    • @AnniHunt
      @AnniHunt 6 років тому +3

      Hi Wendy, I use fabrics for the base that have a loose weave so that they accept the other threads/ribbons/fabrics easily. Soft felt, wools are great to start with. Open weave linens are also fun.

    Hi Anni, Enjoyed your vids on embellishing. You mentioned in one of them that you use a Bernina attachment when travelling. Do you attach it to a Bernina sewing machine?

    • @AnniHuntTV
      @AnniHuntTV  5 років тому

      Hi Arlene, yes the attachment goes on the Bernina regular sewing machine. Happy sewing!

    Annie, I have had an embellisher for years but didn't now the process you showed with the Sari ribbon. I love working with Siulk and linen and various silk ribbons and trims. Where can I find more of your videos. I have been subscribed but don't get anything from you?
    Thanks,

      Indeed! I have wanted to do this for a very long time, but other things in life... like building houses and writing books... stopped me. Now, the needle felting machine is a wonderful friend! And, yes, my mind is full. ;-)

    How much does it cost?
    Is there much build up of fluff?

    I use an Embellisher frequently and find I need to stabilize my base fabric, I frequently use a wool. Do you always stabilize? If so what do you use?

    • @AnniHunt
      @AnniHunt 5 років тому

      Hi Becky, I don't usually stabilize , but maybe your wool is fine and less stable than I have used. Stabilize away if you find it helps.

    I am trying to figure out how to make decorative drawstrings (embellished) will this machine work on sequins or jewled fabrics?

    • @AnniHunt
      @AnniHunt 5 років тому +1

      Hi Ciera, the sequins and jewels will be an obstacle for the embellisher needles, breakages etc, so be careful.

    Is there a general rule about the largest size of a certain fabric, like the relatively thin but strong linen used here, to go by that will fit within the short side of the embellisher machine. Also, I am pleased to discover a fine artist with whom I can identify. Is the finished piece able to be stretched on wooden stretcher bars for display like a painting might be done? Thank you so very much for the demo. I live in Texas but would love to attend a workshop conducted by yourself if you do so.

    • @AnniHunt
      @AnniHunt 5 років тому

      Hi again Marshall, As you can see the piece under my hands is a huge old linen curtain, so just roll it up so that it will fit under the arm of the machine. Yes, this piece will probably be stretched on stretcher bars just as a canvas would be. I also recently did a two sided piece which I suspended from a sandwich of wooden bars so that it could be hung from the ceiling.........see my blog on this piece.........annihunt.com/2018/08/26/almost-done/

      I think they have stopped making this machine, but a used one is a good buy as they are quite simple machines so not much can go wrong with them.

    Do you think it would work on denim?

    • @AnniHuntTV
      @AnniHuntTV  4 роки тому +2

      Yes, Elicia!, I think it would, denim has a sufficiently open weave that it would accept the fibres............let me know how it turns out!
