  • Fishing the Ned Rig in Saltwater works :) A largemouth bass fishing technique, utilized to saltwater environment. Had the opportunity to shoreline fish, in beautiful San Diego, Mission Bay. There are many ways of catching saltwater fish, but here's my technique that works for me! I would like to thank my friend Max Magana for hooking it up with the plastic; a 3inch ghost shrimp (combatjigs), and my new friend Jason (Fish Mastery) for fishing with me :)
    Hope you enjoy ! please comment, subscribe, and like!

    Funny, I call the 1oz drop shot with the chartreuse mullet gulp the "UA-cam special". Saw 4 different people the other day fishing the same exact thing. The ned head with half a fat senko works good over eel grass. Funny how most freshwater bass techniques can be used exactly the same in saltwater. Bass is a bass regardless of where they live.
    Glad that man let you film and dropped some tips. Never knew about the stringing the line trick. Had some rays just stick to the bottom and I end up breaking the light line on them.

    Cool video bout Ghost Shrimp! Wow! I found itty bitty teeny shrimp in my back yard after a serious down pour of rain. Read they are called “Fairy Shrimp” around 50 types in SoCal. I was shocked never heard of them.

    I love pulling the shrimps near ski beach, crown point and fiesta; then using them for bait. Will try the white plastics next time I go out though. Congrats on the little one !

      Point Loma next to the track, the mission jetti, and harbor island for halibut. Miramar pond, lake Jennings, and diamond valley lake for largemouth.

    hey, im going fishing for rainbow trout tomorrow. the trout are under 12 inches. i want to use mini jigs. do i use a power-worm on a 1/32 oz jig head or what. and it is in a river. and there are steel head. the water is high. please help me. what color do i start with?
    thanks for the help!

    • @RodneyMarquezFishingChannel
      @RodneyMarquezFishingChannel  5 років тому

      oh man , sorry for the late reply. To answer your question; I would use 1 /32 oz mini jig head paired with crappie plastics, like I did with my other trout videos. Also I would try using kast masters 1/16 oz to 1/4 oz gold kastmasters. the steel head like anything flashy

    The California Butterfly Rays are attacking like crazy right now. Caught a 32 pounder today. Same thing by hooking it on the side. The reason that happens.... I actually got to see how they attack a few days ago. I was fishing and saw two swimming towards me. So I put my plastic in front of one and it immediately flew on top of the plastic. They put their fins down like legs and have their body about 10 inches off the ground making a semi circle. Then they twist their tails around to start stinging whatever is trapped between their two fins. It was cool to see the other day up close. I had always wondered why I foul hook them all the time on their fin and now I know.... Today's fight took 30 minutes and left my back in pain. PS The certified IGFA world record for that species is only 23 pounds. I have broken that record at least a dozen times, but have never wanted to register it. I have a photo of today's catch on the scale if you are interested.

    • @RodneyMarquezFishingChannel
      @RodneyMarquezFishingChannel  5 років тому +1

      @@RodneyMarquezFishingChannel I have not been up to San Diego in the past year or two. I used to fish Barrett Lake, Lake Morena and Lake Otay a lot on day trips. I am on SDFish forums and will PM you there. I live 70 miles south of San Diego in Ensenada and only recently got into Bay Fishing down here do the lack of fresh water around here. Currently I am stuck here because of a project that I am heading up which does not allow me to be without a signal for even a minute. So driving up there would cause me to pass through a few dead zones. I will explain in the PM. Keep an eye out for it on SDFish.
