    My all time favorite lure in the bay. I use it every time I’m on the water!

    Nice! I’d also highly recommend fishing it the stick style he rips the tail off toward the end of the video. Very effective! What area of Texas you been fishing??

    Ned rig dominates in freshwater and saltwater. Been using it for years. Lots of ppl have been catching on to it.

    I’ve thought of trying Ned rig in salt. Anyone make saltwater Ned jigs?

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  2 роки тому

      These ned jig heads have stronger hooks making them great for saltwater fishing: fishstrong.com/collections/saltwater-hooks/products/z-man-pro-shroomz-jig-head?variant=42196406927534

    Has anyone ever cut a senko and use a small stick bait on a Ned head for snook?

      Absolutely! 🔥🔥🔥

    Stupid question but what would you consider as winter time water temps?
    Cheers,
    Chris

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  2 роки тому +1

      Great question, Chris! for us, it is when those water temps get below approx 70 degrees. 💪

    Around 1:30 you say that everything you've caught the last few months in TX have been on that rig? You don't switch up rigs/lures depending on the water/conditions?

    • @shallowwaterguy4755
      @shallowwaterguy4755 2 роки тому +2

      I only switch when what I’m using isn’t working. It’s been the same Ned rig, just worked differently for the situation.

    Fish those in some waters and the puffers will bite the tail off for you...

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  2 роки тому

      Gotta watch for those puffers! 💪

    The Ned doesn’t use a paddle tail though.

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  2 роки тому

      The traditional doesn't, you are correct. But we all know that fishing is ever evolving, and we have found that the tail from the paddletail give an extra little bit of vibration as the bait flutters back down to the bottom. 💪💪

    • @N2theBlue1
      @N2theBlue1 2 роки тому +1

      @@Saltstrong then it’s no longer a ned rig. It’s just a small paddle tail on a lightweight jig head. One of the hallmarks of the ned rig is it’s lack of movement and action. It’s purposely a do-nothing rig. This is just finesse swimbaiting. I realize you’re probably just SEOing due to the current popularity of the ned rig but dang.

      @@N2theBlue1 We were more referring to the technique and application.
      In the video Pat discusses how he likes to take the tail off so that he doesn't have the vibration; typical of the original presentations in stick form brought to us from the Mid-West by Ned Kehde. We call it the "Nub" and it is perfect for slow dragging and dead sticking on the bottom. 🔥🔥
