Wasnt there a Kpop band that was outed awhile back because they were involved in sex trafficking like this??? I heard from my friend that they literally held girls captive in their homes, that's horrifying. You really cant trust anybody, even if they put on a facade for the cameras...
What's worse is that the Korean media outed some of the victims. So while the victims have to face shame and harassment for what they endured, those who viewed and bought the material get to stay anonymous. It's infuriating.
Yep, Korean's media is equally fcked up as well. You'd be surprised if you know how they've actually ruined people's lives. They don't care, as long as they have content to publish. Even when the news they delivered are proven untruthful at the end, they would never corrected it to let the public know how they messed up, and they never apologize either.
What's wrong with shaming sluts? Allowing them to live life without consequences lead to a society like America, where having an onlyfans the day you turn 18 is praised
@@monsieurlepenguin6602 your mentality is so fcked up. Not all of the victims were sluts, some of them are still minors. I'm a Korean who heard this scarring story throughout the year, and this is the first time I've seen a foreign youtube channel covering this. I hope this issue gets more of the attention it needs.
I’ve seen this online in America a few times, and this I always think about this case a lot. Imagine how many there are similar things like this in the whole world.
The people involved in this need to be exposed. The public deserves to know who was involved. The victims should be protected, not the perpetrators. All the "customers" should also be investigated, especially if they're abusing others.
UK is perfect example, Reynhard Sinaga molested a lot of man by baiting them with help. The case just announced January 2020 after several trials back from 2018. Victims identity are not published by default unless if one of them speaks up. They also got free counseling in hope that they would be able to recover.
Legit dude. Had someone in my hometown that tried to shoot his family and also shot into an inhabited home and I still managed to see many Facebook posts saying "Free my Boy"
I bet you this is all for show and they will just be released... justice never prevails in a system that consciously encourages it and protects the people involved. I'm sorry to burst your bubble. Definitely doesn't mean what those girls did was useless, I'm very happy they did it. And the awareness will hopefully save thousands upon hundreds of thousands of lives.
@mr. paulinedroomie journalists who do this sort of stuff deserve more. "South Koreans are forbidden to smoke weed, even if they are in countries where cannabis use is legalised or tolerated. korea really needs to improve their criminal system. a celebrity named goo ara was sexually and physically abused by her ex and her ex kept threatening to blackmail her. she sued him and the jury demanded to watch the video of her being sexually assaulted that her ex recorded. she ended up committing suicide because the case was going nowhere and the lack of respect they had for her was severe. there are so many cases like this... edit: she was a celebrity, she had money to hire a lawyer, she had influence. i shudder to think what it's like for a poor woman, or a foreign woman.

I currently live in Korea and this story really shook people up. But honestly not enough. The punishment that attackers get here is shocking, most people who attempt sexual assaults/or even do them get a slap on the wrist as they’re seen as being intoxicated or not thinking clearly at the time and usually the person attacked who are usually women are told to forgive the person so they can move on with their life, and yet if they don’t want to forgive they’re seen as a burden and a nuisance. Even when I had an introduction to Korea I was told flat out if I was assaulted or attacked do not fight back, if I hit or fight or leave a mark on a Korean person even if I am the victim I would be to blame as the justice system will side with the Korean person no matter what. It is a very safe place to live, walking around a night doesn’t feel scary or dangerous at all. But seeing how a place I see as a home treats cases like this or others like it, it’s really sad :(
yeah the fact that a defense can be used such as 'i was drunk' to lessen your sentence disgusts me. drunk or not, rape and assault is still rape and assault.
Yeah when I lived in SK for 3 years, on my own and as a female, I felt totally safe to wander at night. The fact that this kind of stuff even happens and they get away with it is shocking.
I live in Korea too! I had to get rid of the pepper spray I bought before I came here because I found out I'd probably be sent to jail for assault if I used it during an attack. It really sucks
I've heard about it when the story broke out and it's absolutely horrifying. One of the victims (a minor) was forced to rape her little brother. It's THAT level of fucked up.
when this whole situation was being brought into light, my aunt who lives in S. Korea would constantly remind me that I need to be careful around men. I can't imagine how worried she was for me as I was the only niece that was closest to the average age of the victims in this situation. It's even more sickening for me because S.Korea's justice system does almost nothing to expose the perpetrators when they're a well known celebrity or higher up official.
There are such things on russian side of twitch and youtube, that are just unfathomable and are not banned by either platform, recently there was a scandal involving one of trash streamers, where he made his drunk girlfriend stay in -10C weather in her underwear and she froze to death, all of that was on the stream and he didnt 3ven stop streaming when he brought her body into the apartment and pointed a camera on her, when she was already dead. And it is not all, there were streams where they were burying a mentally ill man alive, hitting him and keeping him drunk for a pay and this shit wasnt banned. Also recent scandal, where a streamer bashed a girls head on thetable in front of camera.
I mean its logistically impossible to manage streams as they are live. So all we can realistically do is call for help after the crimes are committed. Twitch's just unable to stop crimes that are happening on their website you know, but it can keep evidence of it.
Every single person who was shown to be a customer in the nth room should be exposed. There is no excuse to keep their identities hidden. These people are dangerous, and abusive people. The public deserves to know what is going on
I'm honestly not surprised that teachers were involved in this; just think about all the teachers that have been exposed for dating their students, not to mention the possibility of teachers trying to get involved with their students. A science teacher from my HS was trying to get a student's snapchat and was sending sexually explicit messages to said student. I know a lot of teachers genuinely care for their students, but there are so many just like him.
I had one pedo in primary and 2 in secondary. The one in primary was only caught recently, both the secondary ones were caught while I was there. Majority of teachers truly do want the best for their students, very tiny percentage would do the job for access though.

Well, I guess you probably don't want to read the 2004 US Department of Education report from researcher Charol Shakeshaft titled "Educator Sexual Misconduct: a synthesis of existing literature." If people actually knew the statistical data, or even knew that the research was done and its conclusion, they would be pushing for reformation immediately. But like most things of such magnitude that shine a light on the true underbelly of society and culture, this report was swept under the rug thanks to teachers unions and the corporate media.
@@priqq1 I think T0XIC'S comment is quite innocent because from the country I'm from, everyone knew the 'creepy teachers' and would bully and stay away from them. @__Dark.lies.sweet.fries_ _ The teachers get hired first and they most likely haven't gotten caught/suspected yet. the fact there were SO many people, especially men, who knew about these rooms and kept it to themselves is beyond sickening. Never believe that you can spot the monsters, they always hide well in society. They need a perfect facade to get away with what they do. I truly want these people exposed and suffer for the rest of their lives. I have no doubt this is just 1% of what's really happening. There's people more powerful than those who were caught who are most likely still out there, or just got away due to the lax laws and will live their life eating dinner and getting jobs like the rest of us. This is when something like vigilantism would be useful, because the law will not or cannot give the proper punishment that these monsters deserve. I really hope the victims who were identified were able to get help from the authorities, their identies protected, and a chance to have their lives repaired. The children of the people who were posting abuse need to be taken out of that home and given assistance and screenings. Those teachers and professors who were caught need to have their whole history checked to see if there were any other victims who were not filmed (most likely). This doesn't end with just the chatrooms, or the videos, or the perps. A single vile person can ruin the lives of hundreds. And in this room we had thousands so just imagine the numbers.
I know you’re enraged at what happened and rightfully so, but vigilantism is not the answer. Fiction portrays them to be great heroes, but many times it’s not the case.

This story is absolutely sickening, trully shows that the worst monsters are hiding in plain sight
Telegram side of Russia is more Darker
I mean its logistically impossible to manage streams as they are live. So all we can realistically do is call for help after the crimes are committed. Twitch's just unable to stop crimes that are happening on their website you know, but it can keep evidence of it.

Those teachers and professors who were caught need to have their whole history checked to see if there were any other victims who were not filmed (most likely). a sidenote as to why i am using the word "cisgender" for the uninitiated: their usage of the word "males" and willingness to assume that women are just inherently morally pure in comparison to men by virtue of being women (aka bioessentialism) indicates to me that they have a seriously unchecked hatred of trans women developing within them. i feel no need to tell them that trans women can be rapists when they 100% already believe that _all_ trans women are rapists. no normal person froths at the mouth about "males" and specifically "males", it's a red flag.
to any trans women and trans girls reading this, i love you. you're beautiful (or handsome if you prefer that word) and very capable ladies who are always a joy to interact with in my communities.

Yea, Telegram has a problem with this kind of stuff. But, people like I and many others use it for the encryption and the privacy and bad people use that to their advantage unfortunately
Yeah, it's really unfortunate, i just use it becauze school wifi doesn't block it, so it's easy to message your friends
It can be also used in countries in which communication can be blocked or used by problematic government (like protests in Belarus). Anonymity is a double-edged sword.
Yeah there was this terrorist group a while back in my country that use telegram because of this benefits too
That's kind of how all technology is honestly. Everything has beneficial uses, and destructive ones. Uranium can be used to create long-lasting power, but also devastating bombs, the same chemicals that keep your fridge cold can also poison you, etc.
sadly that's how it is with literally everything in this world, from what I've seen, bad people always use everything to their advantage and ruin those things for good people

A similar thing happened in Italy around 8 months ago involving revenge porn being shared on a group with more than 50 thousands people (mainly boys ranging from 14 to 50-year-olds). However this issue has yet to be solved... Telegram needs to take measures cause them doing nothing about it despite knowing makes them also somewhat accountable

I use Telegram a lot to keep up with news from post soviet countries. Clicked a link that led to a group chat for sharing CP. I reported the group, but I've been scarred for life and the images are burned into my mind.
@Aiesha forever It's not all bad. I've actually had thoughts about becoming an investigator after that experience. I'm already scarred so I might as well do some good with it lol.
So a lot of countries have this Telegram cp problem? I was really disturbed when I found out it was happening in my country....

@@thetakeover51 Because apparently the police actually do have a list of the people of the chat rooms but they aren't releasing it to the public. Some people want the names out and the others don't.
@@dancingx4539 that makes no sense. why would people not want to know the names, do you know the reasoning behind that?

What some are scared about too is the regulars in the most expensive chats. A "normal" person wouldn't be able to afford it. So they are thinking it's people who bring in a lot of money into Korea(CEOs and Celebrities) I don't agree with them at all but I think I might understand them(not really)
Some people are just disgusting. You got a bit of wealth and you use it to hurt innocent people?

Never gonna happen. Same here and everywhere else in the world. All you can do is wish and complain lol
I’m pretty sure they specifically outlined that the majority were normal, unsuspecting, day-to-day individuals, not wealthy people. I know what happened was terrible, but let’s not just claim that it was only ppl with a lot of money that did this.
The underlying issue is men’s entitlement to women’s bodies. Calling them monsters is a bad excuse to justify the extent to which men are able to go in order to achieve what they want. I hate this world.

Children being manipulated into doing horrible things is awful. It's understandable that they were taken advantage of and that should be taken into account but at the same time I can see why victims would still want anyone involved to face punishment even if some were victims themselves.
