Lots of talented actors on SNL to be sure, but...when you put the Movie Star component into the mix, you can't help but pick Chevy Chase as the winner hands down. He had all of the necessary components: Talent, Good Looks, Tall Stature, Charm, Wit, Delivery, Musical Talent and that "je ne sais quois..." So, all the others were really good, but they did not have Chevy's "Star Quality." He transcended the characters he played whereas the others were just really good actors in their respective roles.
Gilda and Bill Murray lived together and had full-blown relationship. According to SNL bio, the women of SNL felt especially disrespected by Chevy ( Belushi too, but Chevy's animus stung more because he was 'the star’ and Lorne Michaels was doing somersaults to please Chevy who was being heavily courted by Hollywood). One typical incident of disrespect allegedly occurred when Chevy returned in the 2nd year as guest host and displaced Jane Curtin as weekend update anchor because he felt he could deliver the lines better than a woman.
In Chevy's defense, he has acknowledged being insensitive during this period saying this was at least partially due to huge rush of sudden fame, demands on his time by Lorne and burgeoning film career, recreational drug use and turbulence in romantic relationship .

Chevy is one of my all time favourites.
Belushi, Ackroyd, and take your pick between Murray or Chase. What a cast!
Stripes with my favorite movie as a kid
Is that a fact, Jack?

Lots of talented actors on SNL to be sure, but...when you put the Movie Star component into the mix, you can't help but pick Chevy Chase as the winner hands down. He had all of the necessary components: Talent, Good Looks, Tall Stature, Charm, Wit, Delivery, Musical Talent and that "je ne sais quois..." So, all the others were really good, but they did not have Chevy's "Star Quality." He transcended the characters he played whereas the others were just really good actors in their respective roles.
It’s weird hearing Dan Aykroyd being called anything other than Dan Aykroyd. Danny, or even just Dan sounds weird.
Bill Murray has called Chevy about as many times as he has called me.
Chevy disrespected Gilda Radner, who Bill adored and Bill got in his face about it.
Source?
So he was white knighting...

No, white knighting is taking a woman's side no matter if she is wrong or right....
Not tolerating somebody talking shit to someone you care is how you are supposed to act.
I would expect a simp like you to know the difference
