But, remember being underwhelmed by his films and comedy albums in the 80s, i.e. 'Comedy is Not Pretty'. Apparently, 'Comedy is Not Funny', either. I did like him in the film Novacane, years later. He was aided by an impressive cast, like Helena Bonham Carter and Laura Dern. That, and It's Complicated, again with a solid cast, was also good. But, other than that, I just think he is more lucky, than talented. I certainly wouldn't call him a comedic genius. George Carlin and Richard Pryor, yes.
