If your having trouble killing the Dragon at Melve with the Balista, I found you can comfortably bring the dragon down below half of its first health bar before heading to the Balista. This way two shots from the Balista (one whilst its still on the floor and one when its in the air) should be more than enough to kill the dragon. Some people have reported stunning the dragon whilst its in the air and managing a third shot, however i dont know if this is the result of a headshot or weakpoint hit and couldnt replicate it.
Stats get redistributed automatically when switching vocations, so you don't have to worry about level up Pathways. As far as augments go, Sorcerer, Mage, Thief and Warrior are what I feel to be the building blocks for this Vocation and they all capture elements of its playstyle too. Give them all a go and you won't be disappointed!
Hey guys I have that problem that the dragon in melve didnt come after the taxi Quest. Has anyone the same problem? Thx for the vid you help me often with your guides😊
DId you do the monster killing quest from Brant or whatever his name is in Vermund first? The ox cart quest guy isn't NECESSARY as it were, I believe you can just run to Melve and the dragon will be there, but ONLY if you do the monster kiling quest first.
There is a ballista in the city. If you go away from the dragon that you can use to kill him if you kill the dragon, you can loot his body and give one of the strongest weapons in the game.
If anyone has the same issue in their playthrough where there is no dragon in Melve when they go back, finish the Monster Culling Quest then go back to Herve. You can find the NPC that gives you the vocation in a shack at the eastern edge of town.
I was so hyped for this vocation but now that I unlocked it it feels very slow and I’m on very light weight threshold. Does the weapon or armor you wear affect mobility? It’s just too slow.
It seems none of these guides show how to do the teleport shown in the trailer. I have no issues hitting that first target, but the way it was shown in the trailer was teleporting to multiple goblins. With how short the window is, I don't get how that's possible.
Honestly you covered the skills in this video perfectly i literally run the exact same setup you have, the vocation isnt as fast as the thief is so that shield is the only option for defense. The flying sword do some damage after upgrading. My first use of the class fund it very Difficult to use but after using for awhile got more acclimated to its weeknesses and strengths still miss the speed of the thief though the class does alot of damage with the launching spear atk. And gear currently is insanely expensive to buy but ill get it to where it needs to be once i get to battal
So I just found out if you have any potions and you die if you hold down L 1 on PlayStation, you can still recover health. You just select one of your items they will replace the command for the pawns. You can also just quick heal in combat
You have to super mash the the attack to get him to start swirling the spear. It needs to be tweaked in a patch I really hope they do it because I need to remove my thump and use my index finger to get it started.
I can't seem to activate Winding Cut reliably. It says to tap square repeatedly since I'm using a PS5 controller but my character just keeps doing the basic attack nonstop.
To anyone having trouble fighting dragons like I was, this class was amazing. Once you’ve got the upgraded shield ability, you can protect your entire party when eventually the dragon starts spamming explosions like he’s Bakugo.
Is it even possible to use quik fot after an uncharged bolt? The description says that we can, but I was never once able to pull it off. I’m able to hit quik fot after a charged bolt every time
I’ve just come from playing thief vocation and I’m so used to the dash/dodge ability. Is there any tips for not getting hit on this vocation? Like do I need a certain skill to be able to dodge or what?
welp i compleaty missed this one haha already did the dragon attack there and missed talking to him so found out that if ya miss talking to him in melve they the fishing village that has the port crystal ( forgot what it is) and go to the hut on the far right side of the village ya might find him there
I was using thief initially to get the mystic spearhand and the thief passive that has a small chance to steal items on hit procced on the Drake and I got the best spear in the game from the start 😂
Thank you for not trying to ruin the fun us who are actually playing dd2. It's refreshing not to just see complaint videos. People buy game, don't buy microtransaction that's what we boycot. The developers probably had little if any to do with them why punish everyone.
@Dandoskyballer Quit acting like the mtx is even remotely intrusive and an issue. FFS if it wasn't for the requirement to manually delete a save, which is completely moronic on the devs part, the mtx wouldn't even be a footnote.
See I thought the issue for winding cut was I was doing it too fast so I tried slowing down. I guess when I get back on I'll see if mashing faster works. They really need to clarify some things in game.

Ive been struggling to consistently get winding cut, ill be spamming the button and it just doesnt want to activate most of the time
Very good guide. Which upgrade vendor should I use for the Spearhead? Balance, Physical or Magic? Like the upgrade vendors?
Cant wait to get it..just got the wuests to return to maeve last night
so for this Vocation do you go Fighter > Warrior > Mage > Sorcerer > Mystic Spearhand? whats the best path to use?
The path of adventure!
For me I stuck with warrior
It doesn’t matter anymore unless you are trying to get augments.
Add in thief and archer as well
Stats get redistributed automatically when switching vocations, so you don't have to worry about level up Pathways. As far as augments go, Sorcerer, Mage, Thief and Warrior are what I feel to be the building blocks for this Vocation and they all capture elements of its playstyle too. Give them all a go and you won't be disappointed!
Hey guys
I have that problem that the dragon in melve didnt come after the taxi Quest.
Has anyone the same problem?
Thx for the vid you help me often with your guides😊
Same here bro😭 where is He?!
DId you do the monster killing quest from Brant or whatever his name is in Vermund first? The ox cart quest guy isn't NECESSARY as it were, I believe you can just run to Melve and the dragon will be there, but ONLY if you do the monster kiling quest first.
Hi yes i Figur outJust do a Quest from brant and then go to melve and the dragon is finaly there thx
There is a ballista in the city. If you go away from the dragon that you can use to kill him if you kill the dragon, you can loot his body and give one of the strongest weapons in the game.
I never encountered the Dragon in Melve? Am I locked out of the vocation now?
No you can find Sigurd in Harve Village as well
@Fextralife oh awesome! Thank you so much!
You can cheese the dragon with the ballista on the tower by shooting it when it flys up to keep it there & get a really good spear from it's body
This is not a cheese, the Ballistas are there to kill Dragons and not shoot down Blackhawks….😂😂😂
If anyone has the same issue in their playthrough where there is no dragon in Melve when they go back, finish the Monster Culling Quest then go back to Herve. You can find the NPC that gives you the vocation in a shack at the eastern edge of town.
Might need to fight off a dragon as you approach town.
Quick quest of much weight I need is this class heavy ?
I was so hyped for this vocation but now that I unlocked it it feels very slow and I’m on very light weight threshold. Does the weapon or armor you wear affect mobility? It’s just too slow.
It seems none of these guides show how to do the teleport shown in the trailer. I have no issues hitting that first target, but the way it was shown in the trailer was teleporting to multiple goblins. With how short the window is, I don't get how that's possible.
Tip you can kill the dragon in melv with the blista with 3 shots and he gives you the mister skill and you get a really good spear
Does beginning vocation matter in dragon's dogma 2
I really wish there were more classes like the first one like imagine a ninja class or assassin class or a mystic knight would be dope
I miss the augments what to use? 😢
You have to super mash the the attack to get him to start swirling the spear. It needs to be tweaked in a patch I really hope they do it because I need to remove my thump and use my index finger to get it started.
@6:59 it sounds like you named a skill that wasn't being shown on screen at the time. Was that on purpose or you just misspoke?
It's just the upgraded version of that skill
I can't seem to activate Winding Cut reliably. It says to tap square repeatedly since I'm using a PS5 controller but my character just keeps doing the basic attack nonstop.
It’s the opposite for me, I try to do normal twein combos but it activates winding too quickly
In case you don't find Sigurd after the dragon fight in Harve, he will be at his home in Harve in the Coastal Hut
I can't get the dragon to spawn. Is there certain quests I need to do ?
I almost let the negativity keep me from picking up this game. Soooooo glad I didn't! Working to get this vocation tonight.
It's freaking awesome 💯
Good mix & match vocation skills for each vocation???
do u just hold it down for it to change to forbeding bolt?
This is some jedi shit man i love spamming the throw abilities lol
is it better than warrior?
welp i compleaty missed this one haha
already did the dragon attack there and missed talking to him
so found out that if ya miss talking to him in melve they the fishing village that has the port crystal
( forgot what it is) and go to the hut on the far right side of the village
ya might find him there
I think you mean Harve village ?
Ye that's the one
Had a brain fart lol
Why is winding cut so hard to activate? I feel like my character never wants to do it
I was using thief initially to get the mystic spearhand and the thief passive that has a small chance to steal items on hit procced on the Drake and I got the best spear in the game from the start 😂
Thank you for not trying to ruin the fun us who are actually playing dd2. It's refreshing not to just see complaint videos. People buy game, don't buy microtransaction that's what we boycot. The developers probably had little if any to do with them why punish everyone.
Quit making excuses for them.
@@Dandoskyballerquit watching video game videos when you're a fake bandwagon "gamer" that hates every game like your NPC programming tells you to.
@Dandoskyballer Quit acting like the mtx is even remotely intrusive and an issue. FFS if it wasn't for the requirement to manually delete a save, which is completely moronic on the devs part, the mtx wouldn't even be a footnote.
@@Dandoskyballerit was more than likely a corporate idea to release the game w micro transactions and not the fault of the devs
See I thought the issue for winding cut was I was doing it too fast so I tried slowing down. I guess when I get back on I'll see if mashing faster works. They really need to clarify some things in game.
Nice vid but you didnt give ppl all the information on how to get the mystic spear hand it’s not just as simple as going back to Melve you have to complete a certain quest for Brant first in the capital called a monsters culling did you not have to do that to get the spear hand vocation ??
where can i find sigurd if i didn’t talk to him after the fight ?😊
Bro is a goat for this one
