The 2 master skills work very well together. If you use Blades of Pyre while Feint stance is active, you wont get hit by the explosion, letting you basically spam it and the AoE is deceptively big too. Perfect for those dungeons with narrow corridor and many enemies.
It's amazing how many people haven't figured this out. It's one of the first things I tried after getting both skills. Much prefer over ignited blades.
If you are already planning on using the formless feint skill then I suggest pairing it with blades of pyre, usually blades of pyre will absolutely melt you due to the self damage but with formless feint you just become a walking bomb. Another tip for early game players is to use the rope skill, by fsr my favorite skill bc if you yank an enemy it seems to always put them in the state where you can impale with your twin fangs move, its pretty much a one shot on anything thats not a mini boss.
I keep using it and I have the class at maximum level, I think I'll never stop using the rope skill. It's super fun to attract small enemies and bring them down from heights or make a cyclops fall when it's staggering. I've tried all the classes and definitely the thief class is my favorite.
Thief can get a semi triple jump, concussive leap + helm splitter can get you a lot of distance/vertical movement, in addition to their passive wall jump. I think only mage levitation can get more range.
Helm Splitter is also useful for platforming shenanigans as it goes much higher in the air than just a jump does. I've used it to be able to climb stuff I couldn't otherwise.
If you want ultimate thief / shadow walker build based on stamina and never get touched for the ult skill with blades of pyre , heres what ive been running: fighter, level 2, mettle , increased health Augment for Archer : endurance, level 4 archer , increased stamina Mage : Exaltation , level 9 , increases stamina recovery speed Warrior : vitality , level 1 , increased health Magic Archer : Voracity , level 4 , gain stamina with killing blow Warfarer: Zeal , level 6 , reduces stamina consumed on weapon skill This build is literal easy mode , the shadow jutsu skill is so OP

You're so right! This game makes every vocation unique and enjoyable! I'm genuinely surprised at how different and effective different classes are. Once they tack down the performance gripes, this will be GOT unless something crazy comes out

I love this game. goty for me. I just keep running away lol and it’s been a while since i felt genuine fear from enemies. it’s just a thrill. an adventure. I feel like a kid again.
I agree! It doesn't feel cruel like the Souls games. It feels adventurous. Like, Oh, that's tough, I could probably take this enemy if I camp and gain some new skills"
I'm having the complete opposite experience. For me, this has solidified my exit from gaming. It's just another open world rpg with a lacklustre story that doesn't pull the player in, with next to no variety. Are all you people really happy wasting your time playing something like this that is just another game?
Implicate, Swift Step, and Twin Fangs in that order is a combo that will stagger any ground enemy and impale them with a finishing blow almost every single time.
So good, a bit sad they didn’t include seekers ability to grapple hook yourself towards enemies and attack mid-air. That would be a game changer and every class is already OP so it’s not it matters that you could do that.
You can completely bypass armored and lizard enemies with the Thief class by dashing behing them and holding Y/Triangle, this will put them in a death grip and tapping Y/Triangle again will finish them off, if not leave them vulnerable for another Y/Triangle.
The very first time I saw Thieves has Skull Splitter in Dragon's Dogma 2 trailer when it was still unreleased, I knew I just had to be my Vocation. Back in Dragon's Dogma 1 where you can have MAX Strength build, my Strider can butcher a full 3 to 5 layered health barred Dragons in less than 20 seconds, thanks to Skull Splitter. Plus, when they didn't make a dedicated hybrid magic class for Thieves (actually it SHOULD be Mystic Knights for Warriors and Magic Spearhand for Thieves), guess where all that Ranger, Assassin goodness will end up with? Yes, Thief!
I wish somebody would do an advanced parkour video with thief, I've seen clips of ppl doing ridiculous gap closing, mountain climbing etc. but I have no idea how to do any of it.
Upgraded ensnare ability will flip any slightly larger enemies like saurians and heavy armored goblins after a couple hits. Anything smaller gets yeeeeeeted in the first try
Thank you for making this video, I started out as thief and felt the class to be underwhelming but didn’t get very far. This tips will help me have some fun
Just started playing this, wtf it's so insane lol. I had these bolts of the blue in storage, and they cracked. I kill things 3x faster than mage and archer that i leveled
Another pretty insane class especially compared to how it was in the first game is Warrior. Although I don't think Warrior pawns are nearly as good as a player. Up against many of the bosses especially Ogre, Cyclops, and Minotaur it just is so good. You just spam the uppercut skill on them and hit them in the head and it just destroys them. Only main issue I have with the class is the triangle attack is super jank and basically useless. On trash it is super overkill and every enemy dies on the first hit then you have to wait for the super slow second hit before you can do anything then on bosses the second hit like almost never activates when it should. So just ignore the triangle attack and just use the quick timing square attack or charged square attack. I think I am going to switch my main pawn from mage to thief and then just hire a mage. Wish it was like the first game where you could talk to your pawn to alter their inclination as there is basically a different inclination you want for every vocation. I might make my pawn simple since at least I don't think that one sabotages any vocations but the personality is pretty annoying with that one.
That must be how i got it! I just randomly got it in the middle of the fight and didn’t realise it was because my pawn got it for me. That’s sick, I might give him that pilfer skill so he can be more useful for people.
Just use what ever armor you like the look of they don't get hit at all if you use the master skill with some Stam potions I recommend give it battali enhancements since they g9ve more streanth
The Thief is functionally like the Assassin from DD1 which was already an advanced vocation so... idk how else they'd advance it even further. Actually, maybe they could combine Thief and Trickster into like a Ninja that uses Shadow Clone Jutsu... now that does sound cool.
