I think Watson will play the whole 2022 season. IN the offseason next year, they should try to bring in a proven veteran, so if Watson is suspended, we can still win a lot of games. Don't let this hurt the team. Have a Watson v.2 (with a clean background) to play in his absence.
Think of all the qb's that couldn't do anything with The Browns? Hell, Baker would probably look like Aaron Rodgers in a good organization. And that Browns "talent" around Baker was way overrated
The Browns went from a bottom 5 QB to a top 5 QB that is being MeToo blackmailed. I take it you haven't done any research on the evidence that has been available to the public.
And screwed him too. One mediocre season and partly to a depleted squad due to injury, and they threw him out in the dumpster. Baker is not completely at fault and he deserved so much better
@@adrianwinslow5707 Baker is legit one of the most underrated qbs in the league. 2 bad seasons 2 good seasons. With the 2 bad ones one he had Freddie kitchens as coach and the worst line in the nfl. The other one he was out there playing with a broken shoulder. His rookie year he broke the touchdown record and didn’t even play the whole year. In 2020 he won the first playoff game the browns had since 94 and was pff ranked number 4 over the last 11 games.
Peter had smoke coming out of his ears. “An absolute total disgrace”. Peter is done with Watson. And his emotions just may reflect what many are thinking.
My Bears got a lot of criticism for passing on Watson in 2017. I wasn't happy at first but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The Bears have proven to be idiots when judging talent at the QB position time and time again but we dodged a bullet not picking him. We're still a mess but at least we didn't get stuck dealing with this disaster and having our team stuck limbo for possibly multiple years while this cringeworthy situation continues to play out.
If it hadn't been for the Watson trade I might have been a browns fan for the rest of my life. Thanks for saving me that heartache, I hope this goes down in history as the worst trade ever and the entire team implodes.
It will cripple Browns for a decade they have a good overall squad why would you bring in a troubled player who might not even play at all and guarentee all that money to him beyond stupid move
Growing up, the Browns were a religion in my family. I had to move often after college, and I would jump through a lot of hoops to watch them every Sunday (pre-modern media). But '95 sucked the life out of me. I kept thinking, "the Browns are a blue-blood franchise. They can't let them leave." While I still root for them, it has never been the same. Now I almost think, I'd rather they lose without Watson than win with him. Tone-deaf move.
I felt convinced the Browns must have had some rock-solid reason for believing Watson's legal troubles were definitely, 100%, and for sure behind him and no foolin'. What I failed to take into account was, this is the Browns. I mean, what was I thinking?! They've managed to make the Texans look shrewd and that's not easy to do.
The bottomline is 22 or 24 is not much different. The NFL has concluded everything and I guarantee you they know this info already. Maybe these recent 2 have an effect but i dont think much. What i thought might be 8 games has now become 10. 3 1sts are still worth it even if hes suspended the entire year. Disagree with King on the distraction. They are unloading everything they have right now and soon itll be old news unfortunately. Better to get this out now during the rest period before minicamp then to have an HBO special come out week 1. Then id believe its a distraction.
Let’s say Watson gets suspended for the year and Jacoby whatever the hell his name is gets hurt for the season and baker is still on the team , what do the browns do?
As a Falcons fan, I admit that I got excited at the thought of Watson's talent on our team. Of course I also thought these legal issues were minor and almost dealt with. That's what it sounded like at the time. Now I think we've dodged a huge bullet. We're gonna suck for awhile but that's better than dealing with Watson's circus.
I actually think the Falcons got the best quaterback in the draft. I'm a Steeler fan who celebrated not getting Watson, I don't know why any fan would want to be a part of 23 sexual misconduct allegations. I can tell you just 2 cause enough problems
I'm a saints fan we were excited at the possibility too but youre right about it all looking settled because he just beat a grand jury indictment twice so no crime was committed. Lots of things have come out since then, more will still. I know we dodged a bullet. As a division rival I watch what goes on with you guys. Theres a couple things that stand out to me. Now mind you I loved those falcons teams from the 90s deion played on I don't hate your team. I just really enjoy beating them. The first thing is I can barely name your coach and can't think of anything he has done? If you want to win you have to be aggressive and get out there and get a PROVEN HC, you hold your purse you pull up your big girl panties and you pay Jim Harbaugh whatever it takes, or you hire that Eric Bienemy and give a shot of life to your organization! 2nd did you know that over the past 5 years or so the media has successfully chosen who the falcons have picked? To me that shows a lack of draft strategy or even a solid plan that only people in the organization know, what they keep doing is just taking the best player available. Thats a bad strategy, what are they building? A team that doesnt really fit together from where I'm sitting, with no plan on how to capitalize on these athletes strengths. Or a weak plan at best. If the saints or the falcons played today idk who wed even be playing? They also have not been aggressive in the draft I guess if you have no overarching plan then just going best player available and staying put is your best option. The falcons were at their best though when they had a legendary coach in Dan reeves traded up for mike Vick when the rest of the league was scared and had a plan to use him. They played to his STRENGTHS. you all have got to get someone that has a plan man,an overall strategy and BE AGGRESSIVE! When they drafted mat Ryan their plan was to create a great passing attack once they saw he was legit. They traded up for Julio Jones I think got Calvin ridley had some other good pass catchers they picked up. When the falcons have a plan it usually WORKS when theyve had a plan they've been able to see it through and even though they fell a little short those were some great teams. Third man and this is a big problem it looks to me that the falcons have always neglected the trenches, they've never built a great offensive or defensive line. The more successful teams in the league over the last ten to 20 years have all done this. Bellicheck is constantly developing his lines in New England for about a five year period all that was available when the saints came up for draft picks was just that. Decent to great olineman the saints didn't trade out or reach for another position. They drafted those lineman over and over again. Now we have very strong offensive and defensive lines the proof is look how they went into Tampa and shut out tom for the first time in his career WITH taysom hill at QB! They won 9-0 it wasn't pretty but it was great and it'll go down in history all because of line play. Their head coach had covid and wasn't even there?! Ive watched the falcons so many times take lineman that have under performed or pass on lineman it seem to me they think that having one average to good guy or two average to good guys on both sides is enough. No,you have to invest in those lines REGULARLY. Like jimmy Johnson did in Dallas. Like mike McCarthy is doing in Dallas now, like jerry Jones has always done. Sometimes the mike Vick isnt going to fall in your lap but you still need to invest wisely with what draft capital you have. I can't eben name your guys GM and that should change. Hire a new one and swing for the fences. Your owner seems like a wonderful man. A genuinely good human being that loves his players and fans,he seems to be getting tired though, the whole organization just seems to be going through the motions. You all need to do something BOLD like hire Sean Payton regardless of what it costs . hire a proven champion and give him control. Make some unorthodox moves but DEVELOP A PLAN. the falcons have had some successbut not built on it recently. They've drafted some good DBs but not built an entire defense around them. Those dB's were what they call diamonds in the rough. They weren't top ten picks they were later picks that turned out to be good! Build on it! They signed Patterson no one knew he was that good, but he is. Trade for a deebo Samuel and have TWO players like that to pair with mariota and his running ! I felt you should have drafted a QB and you did bring in a great coach and develop a plan so u don't waste his rookie contract. Good luck I hope they get it figured out
I agree. I am also a Falcons fan. With his salary and the current state of the Falcon's salary cap, I think it would have been one of the worst NFL deals since the Cowboys traded Walker to the Vikings. At least with the Browns, they have a chance to win immediately and distract from the legal issues.
When you have the kind of money that Watson has, certain… services are available. I’m certain he could have used any number of discreet escort services in Houston, but he wanted to force himself on women who weren’t down for it. Rather than pay for role play, he decided to traumatize a bunch of random women because it felt more real. What a freaking creep. I hope he never plays again.
If what you state is fact he should've been indicted waiting to go to trial. It's very easy to indict somone who commits a crime. And why would anyone who's been assaulted like that accept 100k from a person worth 100's of millions? Some of these class action law suits are very shady.Somthimg happened but none of us should judge until we see evidence.

I said when they made the trade that it could be a franchise ending type of move. I got dragged for it and people said I was a dummy. Well...here we are folks.
Steelers fan here.... Remember big Ben got a 6 game suspension for accusations only, he was never charged or convicted for any crime at all but because it became very public that's all it took. Now 23 women are accusing Watson very publicly, if ben got 6 then he might get a full season.
People seem to forget how much punishment Ben really got when he was never charged. The entire city rejected him, trade talks with STLouis began and lost all endorsements. Winning the superbowl saved his career. Anything less the city would not have forgiven him. Tge media never did forgive him. He paid off civil suits but the legal charges didn't stick. Incredible how calculating Andrew Barry, Kevin Stefanski and Paul Depodestra had been building the team up to this disastrous decision to give so much away to get Watson.
At this point in time it doesn’t look like the deal will be seen favorably since he hasn’t performed at his elite level to this point. But if he does get back to that level then the deal was fine. They didn’t think Baker would take them to the next level so they went for a guy they thought could take them there. And the money spent isn’t ideal but they did what they had to do once they were told he wasn’t going to come to Cleveland with Baker demanding a trade. At that point they needed it to happen so they made the move they had to do. I’ll take an office that’ll go all in like that to make an attempt at being elite rather than settling for being mediocre forever. Maybe it doesn’t pan out but that’s the risk you take to be a championship team.
@@Matt-cr4vv I heard one Browns pundit say at least Watson has stayed out of trouble. That was half the concern. But he has indeed been average, at best.

The appropriate penalty is a lifetime ban. If the penalty is only a one year suspension, that will offend their market profoundly. The NFL does not need Mr. Watson; the league did not miss him last year and they won't miss him ever again. If the NFL slaps his wrist, it will have repercussions for years to come. I'm just glad that the Browns passed on Josh Allen to take Baker Mayfield! Now I have never been a big fan of Mayfield in terms of overall talent. But I find it extremely hard to understand why they have treated him so badly after he played through last seasons injuries the way he did. He could have and probably should have sat out with the injuries he sustained. The Browns deserve ALL the bad Karma they get out of this mess...
Baker jeopardized the team's entire season injured himself by torpedoing his body into a defender who INTed his pass in week 2. So the Browns went from a bottom 5 QB to a top 5 QB that is being MeToo blackmailed. Baker is still with the team because nobody wants to trade for him because he is inconsistent and immature.
It's possible however, that he would incur more than 2.2 million in legal fees to attempt to deal with all this in court. So if it goes to court, his financial losses could be bigger than the original settlement offer.
He isn't very smart though. He is just stubborn and buys a good lawyer who uses him for his money. Like these women did. He is the perfect mark. Keeps throwing away his money. Lucky for him his agent did a great job using that stubborn attitude for a huge payday.

Why would he settle the cases while criminal charges were still impending? He had to brace for the criminal cases (which have since been thrown out) before settling the the civil suits
Both sides attorneys know that criminal cases are harder to win because the burden of proof is greater there, but they also know that in civil court that is flipped around. All Rusty and Watson can do is react to each case and try to settle out of court---they do not have any other options. Meanwhile, those girls can wait it out for a long time with nothing to lose.

I feel for you man. Even as a Pittsburgh fan and sticking beside Big Ben and his accusations I understand your frustration. You guys had Baker and he knocked us out of the playoffs. Why take the risk and give Watson that much $ when you already had a very capable QB on the roster who was playing injured for a new contract?

You people are clowns. The settlement offer was made in an attempt to facilitate a trade to the Dolphins. It was taken off the table when the trade didn't happen. It has nothing to do with an admission of guilt. One of the plaintiffs even said that if she had gotten the $100k, she would be fighting for Watson and not against him. Knowing the diva Watson is I bet you he speeds up if you put it on him. Tell him he is suspended until he resolves these cases. I guarantee that egomaniac gets it done right away to try to avoid any punishment at all. That's who he is.
I think the nfl should create a new policy that says a player can’t play if he has active legal cases against him (of the heinous kind) and they must be resolved(settled or handled in court )first. I don’t think anyone wants to see him play until we see the outcome of these cases.
That's called discrimination and it goes against labor laws smh lol....private law is between individuals ...it's really NONE OF OUR BUSINESS if they settle or for what they settle for...
Nah. The NFL can already do that. And we don't want to give accusers too much power without proof. I'm fine with how the NFL is handling Watson's charges. From what I see, I think the NFL might suspend Watson 3-6 games. The evidence against him is not that serious, but I think it's enough for a suspension. We will see if I am right.
As I've said before, if the Browns want to start a winning tradition, history has proven that moving to Baltimore is the way to make that happen.
The Browns just gave away 3 1st rounders, $230 million to make Jacoby Brissett their starting QB.

I think Watson will play the whole 2022 season. IN the offseason next year, they should try to bring in a proven veteran, so if Watson is suspended, we can still win a lot of games. Don't let this hurt the team. Have a Watson v.2 (with a clean background) to play in his absence.

Texans are happy. First they got a good qb, then they got a haul when they traded him.
You guys mishandled Trubitsky and it'd gonna show in Pittsburgh this year...he's a good QB if given the right situation.
Come over to the Bengals and forget that mess in Cleveland. Just can't fix stupid and the Browns owners fit that category.
I don't get it, they were one of the most likeable teams out there and this is the only thing that could have changed that, and they do it anyway
Only a $230M mistake. LOL
I felt convinced the Browns must have had some rock-solid reason for believing Watson's legal troubles were definitely, 100%, and for sure behind him and no foolin'.
Good luck I hope they get it figured out
Damn right same with Seattle i was like oh thank god
I agree. I am also a Falcons fan. With his salary and the current state of the Falcon's salary cap, I think it would have been one of the worst NFL deals since the Cowboys traded Walker to the Vikings. At least with the Browns, they have a chance to win immediately and distract from the legal issues.

At this point in time it doesn’t look like the deal will be seen favorably since he hasn’t performed at his elite level to this point. But if he does get back to that level then the deal was fine. They didn’t think Baker would take them to the next level so they went for a guy they thought could take them there.
Watson can hire Camille Vasquez to dismantle the women on the stand. Each case will be handled individually so they will be able to present the mountains of evidence on each one in each trial to expose their MeToo extortion.
