I think this is actually accurate I think he used to have so much false pride and an ego and thought he was the greatest thing ever He came across as humble He was playing great and seemed to have the good life
Then he gets caught doing all of this and he must sense that he has lost the respect of everyone And we are seeing a guy on the field who has no pride, he has no way of convincing the world that all is well because he is a great player and a great person
I think how the world views you is very very important especially to stars And he is one of the more hated/disliked/disrespected (rightfully) athletes in the world And he knows that

Hurt shoulder and the number one running back in the league and you're throwing the ball 50+ times in a game? Knowing he can't throw deep because the shoulder is hurt, and you have him trying to throw 50+ yards down field. Baker wasn't the issue. Stefanski didn't want him and now look at them. He has the QB with the worst QBR in history. I didn't even know you could get into single digits with a QBR till now.
When a coach gets a team your supposed to build the team and plays around the team. Not walk in and go this is what we are doing even if you can't do it. That doesn't show leadership that shows a power struggle. So don't act like Barker wouldn't it is just Cleveland making dumb decisions like they always do.
Trade Baker was dumb. Not signing Flacco when he wanted to come back was dumb. Worst trade in the history of sports with Watson is a fact. Sometimes it is the person in the system not the system. Like Brady it wasn't the system it was the guy is all I'm saying.

We've had 2 QB's get us to the playoffs in the past few years and we immediately got rid of them afterwards. Both are now top in the league in passing yards for different teams.

Longer. The amount of resources they spent to build this team is ridiculous. Baker was the perfect fit for this team and Berry pissed on him. He played his heart out, even through injury, some good, some bad, but he never gave up. Dorsey left a blueprint and Berry tore it up.

I actually got a lot of respect for the Broncos for realizing Wilson is past his prime and let him go regardless of the cap cost. It might actually already be paying off for them as they're rapidly improving.

Wilson may have turned out to be well past his prime, but he had zero off the field issues (besides being a cornball, which is harmless). Not a good trade, but Watson was also a massive hit to the Browns reputation as a franchise.
The Deshaun Watson trade is, unquestionably, the worst trade in NFL history. Everyone sees that except for the Browns' decision makers. And they look worse and worse the longer it takes them to admit it.

Cleveland has a AHL team the Cleveland Monsters, they are the Columbus Blue Jackets top minor league club, and they usually lead the AHL in attendance.
Just looked at it. So far, Watson has earned $9.6mil per win, $280k per completion, $28k per passing yard and $4.5mil per passing TD. By comparison, over the same period, Brock Purdy (not including playoffs) has made $113k per win, $4k per completion, $305 per passing yard and $43k per passing TD. Compared to Purdy, Watson has made 85x per win, 69x per completion, 93x per passing yard and 107x per passing TD.

Mayfield, Darnold, and Geno Smith, would tell you don't give up on the QB. Problem with DW4 is the off field issues that are a cloud over his performance and the entire team. As a Browns fan I did not want him on the team because of the off the field issues. They should have kept Mayfield and they should have kept Flacco. The Owners should be silent, and let AB cook and let Kevin coach, coachable players.

There’s no reason for the Browns to punt the rest of the year, just go for it every time!
The Browns really gave up a good, competitive QB, who was great in the commercials and really marketable, for a guy who is none of those things. Even if you side with Watson on the lawsuits, the reality is he's still the least marketable QB in the entire league for that reason.
So they gave up their present and their future, all for a guy who makes the franchise a lot less money and makes the team a lot less competitive.

It's possible the Browns would have continued to ruin Baker. Being humbled in Carolina and then having Sean McVay for a few weeks probably did wonders to reset Baker's mindset in life. Tampa really scored with everything that happened in Cleveland.

As a Texan fan I can't thank the Browns enough for the Watson trade. We have built a super bowl caliber team with those pics and we unloaded Watson to boot. Best trade ever. My heart goes out to Browns fans I know how crappy it is. Just bench Watson and try to forge ahead. I wish you luck.
This is actually a very smart move by the Browns, hear me out. If they keep playing him and he keeps playing this poorly, he will eventually break and go off. Be it through quitting on his team or faking an injury. If that happens, they can then void his contract with cause. It is the only way they can get out of the contract with him. So they will probably keep him on the field all season, no matter what.
The Browns have had TWO quarterbacks take them to the playoffs in recent years. The only two quarterbacks to take the Browns to the playoffs since 2002.
The ownership/front office has gotten rid of both of them for Watson. How do you think that makes the players in the locker feel? I can tell you how it makes me feel as a fan. No longer a dedicated fan, that's how. Fans are leaving in droves. There is no hope.
