Hey just a warning for anyone trying this, if you're using this brand of glue you should make sure you wear gloves and a face mask, and do it in a well ventilated area. I don't know if the formulation is different in America, but here in Australia it contains carcinogenic compounds and can do some damage if you're not careful.

i love keen boots ive had the same pair for 3 years . boots tend to last 6 months for me . i just peeled off all the sole and rubber stuff off and had a new welp installed with a Vibram # 132 Montagna sole . i paid more to have my cobbler mole the insole with cork . best $20 bucks spent in my life ! so now my keens have crazt traction fit my feet perfectly and are light . moral of story dont waste your time with shoe goo . see your cobbler i allmost tossed my fav shoes !!

If you want to make sure that he tube is airtight after you tighten up the cap run a little grease or vaseline around the joint and it will be as airtight as new.

Both are perchloroethylene-based. E6000 is odorless, nonflammable & dries clear. Shoe Goo uses toluene & naphtha (like flammable oil-based coatings which should be ventilated in confined areas) & dries amber. The Shoe Goo may adhere better because of more difficult-to-use refined solvents.

Hi. Great channel. I had 2 pairs os solomon speedcross 4 , the sole wore out ,the manufacturer said no. . You should wear gloves, costco has a great deal for gloves.

Love these shoes. I love keen as they are the best fit for my foot with best support for my foot problem. Unfortunately I have the same exact problem with the same exact pair after only wearing them less than 10 times. They were sitting around for about 9 months before I even started wearing them. I lost track of time and just missed the warranty period to claim it. I get keen free from work every year. The salesmen told me once that there was made in America versions and made in china versions of their shoes. Depends which ones. I had the same thing happen to a pair of Wolverines. Glue eventually dries up and gives out. Cheap glues! In today's times there must be glue that can last 10 years or more. Unfortunately they don't expect people to keep the same shoe past about 4-5 years. I have boots over 10 years. I will try the E6000 and see if it works.

Same Keen boots... same outsole problem. I think I have more shoe goo on my Keen boots than leather.

Love my Keen boots, but I've had to glue every pair I've ever had. Best luck was with a two part epoxy. Wish they used better glue or molded a single piece sole.

I have tried every kind of shoe goo without positive results . I recommend automotive adhesives instead

Last year I tried some automotive adhesive for gluing emblems on to paint. 3m made it and it did work pretty good. It was about $15 a tube instead of five dollars a tube for the same amount. Although it worked for a while on the shoes it seems like the stuff here’s pretty similar and performance. This time when it came time to glue my shoes I decided to go the lower cost route. I’m always experimenting with different things so any glue I get my hands on I’ll try it next time. Thanks again for your thoughts. 👍👍

Funny, I have the same Keen shoes with the same problem, but mine are over a year old. I don't know if they would replace mine. I do have some E6000 in the house. I will try it.

First pair of rocky c4t trainers i got lasted 3 years no problems what so ever,, next pair started coming apart in less than a year,, last pair started coming apart in 2 weeks,, i think i have spent more on E2000 & Shoe Goo than what the boots cost

Few years ago keen had changed the sole design and I assume manufacturing plant cos their shoes aren't as they were..ie..reliable ,comfortable.

I have the same issue with my last pair I got a year ago. I am curious if they change the glue because I've worn keens for years and after 3-4 years of heavy use this has never happened.

Keen knows their sole bonding method is defective, yet does not fix the problem. With the technical advances of today's adhesives making bonds stronger than the materials bonded, there is no excuse for failure on a premium brand. It is obvious Keen just does not care about their quality in hopes of selling more boots through planned obsolescence. Save your time and money by shopping with merchants that still care about their brand and customers.

All Keen shoes fail because of the sole.
